At the crossbone isle, do u have to beat deadbeard :?: ?? coz i spent aggggggges trying to beat him and wuts the good of dat?? wut happens if u defeat him??? (y is it called "deadbeard" anyway? :?: it looks more like a robot")

I never did the Crossbone Isle, so I won't be much help. Sorry. I don't know what you get if you beat him. A weapon?

For your efforts, you get a great amount of experience, coins, a Water of Life, and in the chest behind him you can find a Demon Mail.

But you don't have to beat him. you can't beat him if you're not strong enough though.

but how do u remove the curses from the items?? coz i've got the ring and equip it but the cursed item isn't removed :(

It doesn't work that way sparkle. Cursed items often have a chance to make you immobile in battle so you can't make a move. The Clerics Ring simply allows it's bearer to be able to use cursed items without being frozen. It does NOT remove cursed items from the character. Only Healers can do that.

the healers have a option to remove the cursed items. they don't make them uncursed, just unequiped. I found that Garret is best with the cursed items. but the ring makes you uneffected be the curses in battle.

Damn I thought my ring would help, but hey you can't get everything. 8| :blink:

That's the way the equipment was made. You either use different armor/weapons, or you use the cursed ones and you're cursed.

Or you can use the Cleric's Ring.

Yes, but the cleric's ring only works on one character at a time.

when i first beat deadbeard i was thinking maybe id get some kind of awesome weapon for garet or mia or an armor that would be useful, but no!
instead its cursed armor that drops resistance! how freaking great is that!?

to get past difficult enemies y don't you just use summons in the start of the battle? I know it's cheap, but you save a lot of time and pp..
