I Am...a Writer

I am a writer who stares off into fantasy.
I wonder where my next inspiration will come from.
I hear my characters whisper their stories to me.
I see them come to life.
I want to watch as my story takes flight.
I am a writer who stares off into fantasy.

I pretend I am in the world I am creating.
I feel happiness tinged by loneliness, my joy in an unreality.
I touch my own heart with each line I write.
I worry that I will not be good enough.
I cry over my own failures.
I am a writer who stares off into fantasy.

I understand that jumping hurdles will only bring me closer to touching the stars.
I say I will keep going.
I dream of finishing the plot, of finally reaching the end.
I try to do my best.
I hope I can be great.

I feel like I've read this poem before...

It's an "I Am..." poem, right? It's rather inspiration, especially for someone like me who lacks any at the moment.

Yes, it is an "I Am" poem, using the basic format. It was for a Creative Writing assignment.

Hooray, I give inspiration! *strikes a pose* I'm a Muse! *complete with appropriate Greek costume!* ^_^
