Title: Starters?
Description: What pokemon type do you choose first?

sol_blade - July 29, 2007 09:47 PM (GMT)
Well i still visit this site from time to time and i saw this new pokemon place. It was going to be asked eventually, so why not now? :}...i always choose fire first. its hard at the start, but its worth it. Great speed and attack stats!

FelixGSTLA - July 29, 2007 11:56 PM (GMT)
water every time... I just cant let go of the squirtleness and totodileness in me...

windseer1986 - July 30, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
char
man
der

Lor - July 30, 2007 06:34 PM (GMT)
From Greatest to Least

1) Charmander
2) Squirtle
3) Cyndaquil
4) Treecko
5) Totodile
6) Bulbasaur
7) Pikachu
8) Chikorita (Seriously, don't bother.)

I haven't played the new games, but I hear the penguin is masterful.

Marlin Beta - July 31, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
Here's my greatest to least:

1. Totodile - starts out cute, grows up ferocious
2. Charmander - the dragon-like starter
3. Piplup - who doesn't like penguins? Especially ones that become steel types
4. Treecko - can you say, "Leaf Blade?"
5. Bulbasaur - the original starter I chose.
6. Turtwig - turtles are cool
7. Squirtle - (see above)
8. Chikorita - Brontosaurus salad?
9. Cyndaquil - porcupine? Yeah, he's ok.
10. Torchic - evolves into a martial arts specialist.....WHAT?
11. Mudkip - sorry, but I just don't see the fish
12. Chimchar - no flaming poo for me. They couldn't even come up with original types, either. There's already a fighting monkey, and there's already been a starter that was fighting/fire. C'mon, you guys can make cooler starters than this.

white_assasin - August 1, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
oh now come on gotta love the waterdudes!

SuicuneSol - August 1, 2007 05:33 PM (GMT)
1. Bulbasaur (special place in my heart, first ever Pokemon even before Pikachu)
2. Torchic (I don't care what anyone says, cute in the beginning, furious in the end)
3. Treeko (I don't like Treeko, but I like the first stage of evolution)
4. Piplup (cute, but isn't cut for battle for me)
5. Charmander (...cliche. But I like Charmeleon)
6. Chikorita (cute, but isn't cut for battle)
10. Cyndaquil (I like the first stage of evolution)
7. Squirtle
8. Turtwig
9. Chimchar
11. Totodile
12. Mudkip (I will never, ever choose this starter.)

The Wind Seer - August 1, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
I don't play any more pokemon, but I chose Water if it isn't Totodile.

Lionman363 - August 7, 2007 11:57 AM (GMT)
I play pokemon so seldom I forgot what was my favorite starter...I think it was cyndaquil. -_-

felix777 - August 10, 2007 08:11 PM (GMT)
I always thought that the Gold/Silver/Crystal generation had the best starters.

Lionman363 - September 6, 2007 06:32 PM (GMT)
Ya,same here. :}

Mewtation - September 11, 2007 01:06 PM (GMT)
I've chosen a different type each time. Yellow I didn't have a choice, Gold I chose Totodile, Sapphire I chose Torchic, LeafGreen I chose Bulbasaur, and Pearl I chose Chimchar. I chose Chimchar because it seemed like everyone was going to pick Piplup so I didn't.

Lionman363 - September 20, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Well Ive gone off pokemon now so don't bother asking me about it again lol ok? :P

flamethrowerqueen - September 20, 2007 10:59 PM (GMT)
Surprise surprise: I'm fire-type all the way! In Red I started out with Charmander, in Crystal I start out Cyndaquil (very cute, and I'm a big fan of Typhlosion), and I'm going through Sapphire right now with Torchic (once again, cute, and I'm in love with Blaziken (sorry if I spell that wrong). :P

Lionman363 - September 23, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
I did like Torchic, but I think Cyndaquil was the best!

SuicuneSol - September 24, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
Charmander and Torchic were the best, I think. Cyndaquil looked too timid. I think even Chimchar is better.

Mathias - September 24, 2007 12:39 AM (GMT)
i chose Char my very first time, then chose Ven later and finally Squir, i found Squir to be my fav
on the second one i chose chikorita.....the one after that i chose the treecko....think i regret those choices
ah well POKEMON MMO PLEASE!! B)

flamethrowerqueen - September 25, 2007 02:14 AM (GMT)
Is Chimchar a pokemon from a version after Sapphire? I don't know any of the starting pokemon after that. ^_^ Fire are always my specialty. And, I'm sure I like the cute pokemon at least a tad more than you do, Suicune.

*grins* Not that I don't love a good tough/cool looking pokemon. One of my favorite pokemon, period, right now is my Sableye (nickname Diamond). A totally wicked looking pokemon, dark and ghost type, whipped the pants off of Brawly while being 3 and 4 levels below his pokemon. ^_^

*Blushes*A game I dont have yet..... :(

SuicuneSol - September 30, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)
Well, guys, both of you need to try out D/P. A DS is involved, but... well... I encourage buying one. Up to you, but if you do get one, I'm waiting for a battle. Always.

Lionman363 - October 1, 2007 07:42 PM (GMT)
Played it and its hard to tell...I know ill use my puppets Jenna and Isaac!
Jenna:Ever play Diamond and pearl?
Isaac:Yeah its s***!
Dora:Watch your language!
Eh?Where did Dora come out of? 0_0

flamethrowerqueen - October 1, 2007 09:41 PM (GMT)
 That was entertaining. ^_^

Yeah, I'd like to get a DS, but I have other things on my agenda right now, like college, car, the music department's trip to Boston, and so on. I s'pose I could see how much my SP would go for on eBay and make up the difference. I'd love to get the newer version; my best friend was playing it today during lunch, and the graphics look wicked.

 I want it.... B)

SuicuneSol - October 1, 2007 11:19 PM (GMT)
The newer version being the Lite? Over here in CA, both the new and the old are sold for the same price. In fact, they don't sell the old one anymore. Just the Lite.

Did I once hear right that you hail from the Island Kingdom across the pond? I thought I heard that the Lite and the regular are priced differently there.

flamethrowerqueen - October 2, 2007 01:48 AM (GMT)
>.> When I said the "newer version" I meant the version that's newer than the SP, which is the DS. And nope, like my profile says, you can find me on the East Coast of the United states, usually talking to my boyfriend on my cell while online and procrastinating doing something (just like I am now ^_^ ).

SuicuneSol - October 2, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
Oh dear, I got it completely wrong. '-_-
Ah, well.

flamethrowerqueen - October 2, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)
*hugs* Don't worry, Suicune, I forgive you. ^_^ It was all my fault, anyway.

Lionman363 - October 2, 2007 02:16 PM (GMT)

*grins* Just friends. I don't think Suicune even went through the "I have a crush on Sam" phase three years ago.

Lionman363 - October 3, 2007 07:07 PM (GMT)
He had a crush on you?I think I know why he went of.

The Wind Seer - October 8, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
I always choose the coolest looking one.

God of the Black Flame: Canti - October 12, 2007 09:51 PM (GMT)
I always chose the water type. Back in the beginning of Pokemon, I was little, and it seemed logical to me, based on the real world, that water would hurt fire a lot (because water put fire out), and grass wouldn't damage water as badly (because it's not like you can touch water with a plant and the water disappears). I mean, now I understand that it's the same x2 super effective value no matter what the types are. :P But I still always use the water type. It's a habit I suppose. Although now my excuse is the advantage of learning ice type moves that will defeat the rival's grass type.

Lionman363 - October 18, 2007 04:15 PM (GMT)
And you are a god of a black flame, which is fire?
Strange,but I won't go on cos it'll lead to bashing. 0_0
Fire types are usually the strongest but yet they do have their disadvantages. o_o?

God of the Black Flame: Canti - October 18, 2007 10:32 PM (GMT)
Yes, but the whole God of the Black Flame thing is from a completely different thing (FLCL, 6 episode long awesome anime, watch it)

It doesn't mean that I can only like fire in video games.

As far as Golden Sun goes, I affiliate myself with Jupiter, not Mars.

And I'm glad you decided not to start bashing, because it would not end well for you *points to moderator status*
