Title: save games for GS2 roms
Description: anyone have any?
white_assasin - December 17, 2006 06:40 PM (GMT)
iv got the rom and emulator for GS2 and i was going to record all the music from the battle arena (easier than walking round and recording all of it that way) and the emulator i got lets you record the music easily and good but i dont have the time at the moment to be doing the game so if any of you guys have any finished game saves of golden sun 2 for a rom, it would be very helpful of you to send me it so i can get the music. Plus il host it up on a site iv made so you can all listen to it or downlaod them for anything you need e.g site backround music or for rpg maker or game maker (pretty much what i need them for lol). Thanks in advance.

I remember there being a torrent with the whole OST at the GRS.
http://goldensun.rpgplanet.gamespy.com/media/soundtrack.phpI couldn't find the torrent, but there was a link there where you could download the whole ost.

Isaac's got it. Download the file there on Fileplanet. Sign up-- it's free. And the soundtrack is only... 100 megabytes or so?
I couldn't find the torrent either.

Yeah I've found recording off an emulator leads to less than perfect sound quality. The other thing I've found is to get a patch for winamp that lets it play gba sound files.
http://gsf.caitsith2.net/ should have this as well as soundtracks to a lot of gba games. you can even set the patch to loop the music just as it does in the game(not as it would if you looped it in a normal media player.) If you look around I know there are patches like this for snes too, and probably other systems as well.

Those are great windseer but is there any way to get some thing other than winamp to play them? cause my site nor my rpg maker will play reconize them

...
I urge you to download the soundtrack itself. Using Winamp to listen to .gba files is only good if you want to hear the music itself. However, if you're going to use the files for an RPGmaker game or a website... you need the MP3s. Only the soundtrack has those. Yes, they're good quality MP3s.
Patience is a virtue. Do you have it?

lol i did download the soundtrack its just that i ofund a couple of games i like on the site windseer said but none of them work on rpg maker nor sites or anything lol.

First of all: using them in RPG Maker is technially stealing; you can be arrested for that. :P
Second: you don't need to use an emulator;
VG Music :P

its only stealing if i take credit for them but im not of course im gonna put the creators names in the credits of course, and vg music only has midis which arent very good compared to the origanal songs.(most of the time)

You'll only get in trouble if you sell your game. I don't believe White Assassin will be distributing his creation for money. Will you?
And RPGMaker is a renegade program already. ^_^
Motoi Sakuraba really needs to release a Premium Golden Sun Soundtrack.

lol like i would make money of it anyways, lol knowing me this is just another little project that IM never gonna finish...but in case i do finish it (as is one of the only projects iv started and got so far in) i might put it up on a site or something.

lol, I recommend using HAM for GBA development, and The Games Factory for Windows development. and the only way to rip the music is either disassemble the rom by hand or make .wav rips from an emulator like VBA. the WAV rips could be used in TGF but not HAM (their wav2gba can't locate the `data' section?) but in that case I'd recommend using a gsm-like format. Just get a gsm decoder and convert it to work under the GBA platform (not hard, seen it used before, e.g. Luminesweeper)
