Title: What I think GS3 should be like...

Ancient Feud - September 8, 2005 12:36 AM (GMT)
I don't know if this belongs here, but oh well... :...:

I would like to see GS3 be a prelude to the first two games. You know how you had to run around hunting down the Mars Adepts to first stop the release of, then unleash Alchemy? Well, I think it would be cool if, in GS3, you had to go SEAL Alchemy away. It'd be set in the past, when Alchemy was first discovered and used. The beginning would talk about a war or something to get the characters out and quest, and you'd actually have to go around and prevent anyone using Alchemy for evil from doing bad stuff, and you'd have to seal Alchemy using the lighthouses (possibly by removing the power of the lighthouse by draining it and forging an elemental star or something (I haven't thought that part out yet)).

Anyways, I'd think that a prelude would be an interesting GS3.

God of the Black Flame: Canti - September 8, 2005 01:02 AM (GMT)
It would. Nice ideas. I think that's been suggested before by others though. Well, a similar idea. But I agree, a prelude would work well. .... :!: Maybe they could use the prelude to tell about the city that turned into the moon!

windseer1986 - September 8, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
That has always been exactly how I would want them to do GS3. Tie up the mysteries of the past. B)

SuicuneSol - September 8, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
I think they should do that too, but not tie up all the mysteries of the past. Legends and mysteries have always been a thing of interest. The fact that they are not solved is what makes them legends. Its best to leave them as they are, however much we want to know the truth.

windseer1986 - September 8, 2005 03:03 AM (GMT)
What I meant by that is tell the story of the people who sealed alchemy in the first place, so were not left to speculate how it might have happened.

SuicuneSol - September 8, 2005 03:59 AM (GMT)
Hm, well I think the searching for lighthouses thing is not the best idea to keep using. Golden Sun isn't just searching for lighthouses. (Doesn't sound too great now, does it? Running across the land looking for a lighthouse.) It's about the story of alchemy, and how Weyard was effected by it. It doesn't need to be tied around the lighthouses for the entire series.

windseer1986 - September 8, 2005 04:10 AM (GMT)
Well, the lighthouses are central to the effect of alchemy on Weyard, but I guess you are right. Still, I would like to learn the story behind the original sealing of alchemy, if one ever was actually thought of by the camelot team.

SuicuneSol - September 8, 2005 05:43 AM (GMT)
Okay, well I agree with you on that one. The backstory behind the sealing of alchemy is a bit creamy. And the Wise One. We have to know about him/she/both/it.

Amida - September 8, 2005 12:39 PM (GMT)
Its a great idea to have GS3 set before the other two games. But I wouldn't enjoy having to go back to all the lighthouses again. It would just seem slightly repetitive. I still like the idea of GS3 being a prequel but I would just like a plot which is new and original and not too similar to the other games.

Snipe104 - September 8, 2005 08:22 PM (GMT)
What if instead of towers, it was an ancient temple or a normal temple you have to get the star from. Or a cave. Make like the original unlocking of it.

...perhaps - September 8, 2005 10:35 PM (GMT)
For me, one of the main reasons GS3 is so important is because the end of Golden Sun 2 is so unfinished. I think I would be very frustrated by a prequel, because I want to know what became of Alex and other such stuff. The only mystery about the Wise One is his strange behavior at Mars Lighthouse's top, and no prequel is necessary to explain it; a sequel should be able to do fine.

Ancient Feud - September 9, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
I just remembered that somewhere (I forget where) I found out that the elemental lighthouses were built to seal Alchemy. So my idea wouldn't work because to seal Alchemy, the lighthouses would needed to be built. What would you do for that, help build the lighthouse? Actually, that doesn't sound too bad... I mean, using Carry, Lift, Move, Pound, and other Psynergy to help set stones for the lighthouse. And you could fend off monsters that attack workers or something. And while the lighthouses are being built, you'd have to go off an stop evildoers who are trying to use Alchemy for evil. Yeah! That sounds kinda cool!

windseer1986 - September 9, 2005 02:31 AM (GMT)
Maybe you would have to journey to find the 4 stars hidden somewhere, or 4 jewels that could be used to seal alchemy(which would become the elemental stars) while the lighthouses are being built.

God of the Black Flame: Canti - September 9, 2005 09:46 AM (GMT)
Um... I really don't like the sound of that "building the lighthouses" idea, no offence. Sounds kinda boring.

...perhaps makes a point. If there were just a prequel, that would leave Alex's fate unknown... Let's just rally for 'em to make both a prequel and another sequel. XP But really, that would be awesome.

Amida - September 9, 2005 12:18 PM (GMT)
As much as I would love a sequel and prequel to be released, I doubt they would be able to afford it. But, I do like the idea of having to find the elemental stars in the prequel. Perhaps to obtain the stars you would have to fight four powerful guardians (one for each of the elements obviously) and maybe use synergy to forge their life forces into elemental stars.
By the way Canti, well done for so many posts. You're nearly at the 10,000 mark. Can't wait to see what your new rank and symbol are going to be.

windseer1986 - September 9, 2005 02:22 PM (GMT)
I really don't care so much what happened to Alex. I want them to expand on the history and depth of weyard, to give it even more life, because I think there is great potential for that. However, it would be cool to see how alchemy being released has affected the different places in the game. Just as long as there are different characters.

Ancient Feud - September 9, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
My friend and I had a little joke... If GS3 were to be a prequel to the first two games, Kraden's be the main character. There's also a little battle sequence we tied in with Kraden...

Kraden attacks!
Kraden does -1 damage.
Enemy HP is fully restored!
You felled Kraden!

Anyways, now that I look back on it, the whole building the ligthhouses idea does sound pretty crappy... But what would be cool is to have a whole new group of Psynergy, like since Alchemy is abound, a new type of Psynergy could be available. But after Alchemy was sealed, that Psynergy disappeared.

God of the Black Flame: Canti - September 9, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
How can you not care about alex? :ohmybig: Although, yes, the history and depth of Weyard is interesting. But I really would like to know what happens with alex... surely that would be interesting. Different characters, I dunno if I want them or not. I don't have an opinion either way.
Thanks, Amida. I won't really have a new rank (It'll just stay as moderator), but I will have the Mars star added to the symbol thing.

Amida - September 12, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
I would definately like to know what happened to Alex, and also get the chance to kick his arrogant backside. I have always regretted not being able to fight him properley in the first two games.

Fire Emblem Freak - September 20, 2005 09:25 PM (GMT)
I have another idea. Yours is cool, but I think they should show what happened to Isaac and company after GS1. Then you go through Jupiter Lighthouse and then you go to Contigo and meet with Felix. Then you play the end of GSTLA as Isaac. Then you unlock a side quest.

That's exactly what I said! They say that great minds think alike! Heh heh! :}

Issac - September 23, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
can't you guys give up on Goldensun 3? forget about it already? What you think is what u think. It just wont come out!

Hoping for it to come out wont make it come out! Give up! I don't really know what's going on around here. why do you people still think it will be out? Never, i'd say

Void - September 27, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
Just because it's very unlikely that it will ever come out doesn't mean we can't still wish and hope and have ideas about what it could be like. It isn't completely impossible, and you don't have to be like that because you've given up on it.

SuicuneSol - October 29, 2005 03:48 PM (GMT)
Ah, but of course, we can dream can we not? That void in our GBA slot that sings and cries out for Golden Sun 3 doesn't necessarily stop us from imagining what it could be like. Just like in that topic, "What Golden Sun character would you marry?" we know that we cannot marry Mia, or Sheba, or Kraden :bigblink:. But we still talk about it, no?

windseer1986 - October 29, 2005 05:47 PM (GMT)
If there was a topic like that, I hope I never posted in it :bigunsure:

I'm just unsure why issac even bothers posting this stuff, I thought he "hacked nintendo and played the game" XD

Issac - October 31, 2005 03:18 PM (GMT)
The wise one was also a human like Isaac and the others. But the curse of alchemy turned him into a stone thing. Even if I do not believe in there being a gs3 i still no alot about other things about it also.

ZaberTheAlmighty - November 15, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Did you not just say to stop talking about it, mister hacker? You're f'ing like John Kerry, constant flip flopping! You hacked nintendo, no you didn't, stop talking about gs3, hey, here's what happened...

Ugh! :upset:

sol_blade - November 30, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
seriously, dude, make up your mind!
And do you actually like golden sun???Because you aren't showing it much!

ZaberTheAlmighty - November 30, 2005 11:54 PM (GMT)
:bigsleep: He really isn't.

Urahara - December 21, 2005 05:55 AM (GMT)
Well, he may not like Golden Sun, but we do. Don't let him bring us down. We can talk about whatever interests us, who needs a downer like him. Lets just ignore him and keep talking.

Lionman363 - September 4, 2007 08:06 PM (GMT)
Zaber doesnt like golden sun?
THEN WHY THE HECK IS HE ON THIS WEBSITE!?!?!?!?!?
