Title: Atop Venus Lighthouse
Description: Saturos and Menardi were foolish
...perhaps - July 6, 2005 07:31 PM (GMT)
I was playing the end of Golden Sun again recently, and I noticed how incredibly dumb Saturos and Menardi were in regards to Felix. I think they should have trusted him, not maybe about taking Sheba back to the ship, but rather right before Fusion Dragon, when Felix wanted to help fight. What if he had also joined them in becoming a dragon? I think it might have made them considerably stronger, in spite of Felix's lack of strength as an individual at the time. Just the presence of another person would probably enhance all the stats, the presence of another element would probably add skills, and also, chances are, more power could have been taken from the lighthouse due to having the same element, as well as the symbiotic element, in the dragon.

I think fusing with Felix would just make them weaker. '_'
I was surprised that Isaac and Garet didn't get overpowered like S&M did...

I doubt Felix knew how to fuse with Saturos and Menardi.

I think saturos and menardi were dumb for not just knocking isaac, etc off the lighthouse, seeing as they were a gigantic dragon like 100x the size of all of them.

Well, Isaac and Co. DID beat the dragon. Maybe it wasn't as simple as knocking them off the aerie. And from a mechanics standpoint, that wouldn't be very good for the story.
Felix was weak at that point in the game. I doubt he could have helped the fusion dragon do anything. But I do see the other side that adding anyone would help. I don't really care too much about that because Felix had to leave on his own. Personally, though, I thought Saturos and Menardi made much better villians/antagonists than Karst and Agatio.
But I've noticed that nobody made a comment on the color of Felix's cape. In the first game it was definitely some shade close to olive green. In The Lost Age it was BLUE! When did that color change happen? Personally, I didn't like that at all. Also, you might have noticed that Isaac wears a yellow cape in battle, but it disappears outside of battle. What's with that?

Maybe he is just into cape fashion. o-o

Marlin, take a break from golden sun, youve been playing just a little too much
i would say that Saturos and Menardi were just unfortunate enough to have a couple of bad decisions fall in with a few bad coincidences, they were only human (i think) and probably were mean due to the piece of crap lif im sure they had to deal with when they were younger
and it probably took them like years to learn how to fuse like that, i doubt felix could have done anything useful for them

I forgot to mention half the point of it all. One of the things I wanted to say was that I thought they were dumb to not believe that he really wanted to fight, simply because he had just been telling Isaac's team how he would fight, when everyone thought S + M were dead.
Mathias, consider Doom Dragon. I don't think the people who were in that dragon practiced for years. Of course it was also forced on them by The Wise One. I think, however, that, though Felix mightn't've been able to fuse with, say, Isaac, Saturos and Menardi could have included him in their fusion. Maybe not though.
Marlin, someone made a topic about Felix's cape; someone definately noticed it.
http://invisionfree.com/forums/TMDR_Forums...wtopic=624&st=0As far as Fusion Dragon pushing the heroes off the lighthouse, that brings up the question of how that thing fit on top of the lighthouse in the first place.
Mathias - July 7, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
i dont consider doom dragon at all because the fusion was due solely to the power of the wise one, the people that made up the dragon didnt want to even be fused in the first place
it isnt right to think that someone as weak as felix could just up and be able to do something so powerful as fuse onto a giant dragon, thats just like saying "well why didnt isaac and garet fuse into a dragon to fight the dragon"
and the answer is simple, because they couldnt
...perhaps - July 7, 2005 06:02 PM (GMT)
Yes, Isaac and Garet couldn't, but I think that maybe Felix could with Saturos and Menardi, because they could do it in the first place. They could choose to involve him and bring him in. I guess maybe they would have to use extra power to get him in and that would drain the strength of the dragon, so perhaps it wouldn't have been a good plan at all, but I still thing they should have trusted him, which was actually the point.
ZaberTheAlmighty - July 8, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Ha! The maker of that topic was meh!
As for Felix joining the fusion.... as if! As for trusting him, they sure as heck should've.
Mathias - July 8, 2005 05:27 AM (GMT)
i agree with zaber, they should have trusted him, but they would have done better to have isaac and co. sit down and talk it out, rather than turn into a dragon and try to kill them
ZaberTheAlmighty - July 8, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
.... Mathias .... You're an odd one.
Mathias - July 8, 2005 06:12 AM (GMT)
aw come on, if saturos and menardi just convinced isaac that THEY were doing the wrong thing, they would have saved everyone a lot of trouble, but did they? noooo
and now theyre dead......losers
ARGH BUTTERSCOTCH!!!!
im not weird
ZaberTheAlmighty - July 9, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
Isaac wouldn't listen. Or at least, Garet wouldn't. Ivan would agree.

I dont think Fusion Dragon could think straight... i think he just rampaged like doom...
i may be wrong but im definatley right about not thinking straight ^_^
Void - July 14, 2005 02:27 AM (GMT)
...And what makes you so sure that it wasn't thinking straight?
Mathias - July 14, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
actually, i think issac is on to something, the dragon didnt really do anything intelligent, it just attacked....how interesting...
God of the Black Flame: Canti - July 14, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Well of course, Most enemies in video games are like that. They have patterns of attacking, or they attack randomly, but both have weaknesses. However, if they were real, most of them would win in about 5 seconds just by falling on top of the hero/heroine/heroes/heroines, because, well, they're typically really big.

Yeah, sometimes there are funny things about video games. Like the fact that there are just unexplainable invisible walls.
