Does a characters class determine what stats are more likely to go up when they level up? It seems like the stat gains are mostly random in this game, but I thought maybe certain classes have better chances of certain stats going up...

You're correct. Certain classes have a better chance of getting a +1 in a stat than other classes. But even people of the same class get better chances of getting a +1 in certain stats than the others. For instance, Sain is more likely to get his luck increased than Kent is.

and it depends on the actual character, Sain has better offensive skills while Kent has better evasion and defensive. It reflects their personality how Kent plays it safe and Sain is reckless.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that his name is not pronouced "SANE." I know five people who spell their name "Sain" and they all pronouce it "SHAWN." u_u

in my newest file i never used him although i have been working on the lords and by chapter 16x they were all level 16

lol, only! Lyn, Hector and Eliwood were the first to reach level 20 and that was by chapter 15! in Eliwood's mind you. I trained Lyn to like level 17 in her story lol ultimate.
