Title: Fire Emblem Walkthrough
Description: Need help!

Marlin ßeta - April 17, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
I need somebody to help me with the site. Anyone who has experience in writing walkthroughs or is interested in trying, needs to get in contact with me right away. This will hopefully be the saving grace for Aerie of the Roc. B)

Swordmaster - April 24, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
I'm good at walkthroughs, except I'm usually really busy or lazy

Marlin ßeta - April 24, 2005 04:07 PM (GMT)
Somebody else has promised to start working on one, but I need as much help as possible. Go ahead and lets see what you can do, Swordmaster. B)

Swordmaster - April 24, 2005 09:39 PM (GMT)
Who'd that person be anyways, and I'm replaying the game so I can do it more accurately.

Issac - April 24, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
when did u change your avator swordmaster? anyway...
isnt this suppose to be in the "Fire Emblem" section?

Marlin ßeta - April 25, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
No, this is not supposed to be in the Fire Emblem section because it is part of news and website related content.

As for who the other person is, I'll keep the name to myself for now. I'd like to keep things interesting from here on in.

Swordmaster - April 25, 2005 02:50 AM (GMT)
not really, Marlin is asking for asistance for this forum so it goes under forum updates.

windseer1986 - April 25, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
Marlin wants to update the site by adding a walkthrough for fire emblem, so he made a post asking for help here, in the updates section.

Marlin ßeta - April 25, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Don't spam the news forums. I'll delete every bit of off-topicness. B)

windseer1986 - April 26, 2005 12:00 AM (GMT)
MOD ABUSE! MOD AB-*is deleted*

anyway, which fire emblem are you doing a walkthrough for? the Gamecube one, or the upcoming GBA one?

Marlin ßeta - April 26, 2005 12:03 AM (GMT)
Actually, first we need a walkthrough for the current Fire Emblem game. That's what I want first. After that, we'll worry about the upcoming games. However, I'd like to cover both of them. B)

STOP SPAMMING NOW! I'm getting mad. #-_-

Issac - April 26, 2005 12:05 AM (GMT)
I think i can Help with the walkthrough B)

what do u think marlin? can i help?

and sorry for spamming...

Marlin ßeta - April 26, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
Want to start writing? Be my guest. You'd be the third volunteer. Go right ahead. B)

windseer1986 - April 26, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
well, one weakness I see in a lot of walkthroughs is the author will talk about the strategy they used as if it is the best/only strategy, when there are much better ones. A lot of the time when I read through faqs/walkthroughs, I get really annoyed at them for this reason. A good walkthrough should have very well thought out and tested strategies, not just the authors personal preference. So, maybe there could be a section of the FE board devoted to discussing the best strategies for each chapter. The best one(s) could be used in the walkthrough. The main downside to this is that there might not be a lot of posters in the topics :(

Swordmaster - April 26, 2005 12:37 AM (GMT)
I'm open to all sorts of strategies so mine'll be a variety but I gotta get off my lazy but.

windseer1986 - April 27, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
I found my cartridge the other day, so I started playing again. I'll try to write down anything I find that would be useful for a walkthrough, but first I want to actualy beat the game. Last night I beat limstella, and all 130-something reinforcements (except for about 2 or 3 that never showed up bcause my healer ended up blocking a space) so all I have to do is the final chapter. I also posted over in gamefaqs, in a topic of FE site links, and said you were looking for help with a walkthrough, since thats where most people who know this game like the back of their hand are.

Marlin ßeta - April 27, 2005 05:23 PM (GMT)
You bet. GameFaqs is a great resource. I almost think that going there would be easier for a walkthrough. XP

windseer1986 - April 27, 2005 05:37 PM (GMT)
yeah, it is the best place for a walkthrough, generally, but message boards are a different story. It has so many annoying n00bs that post the same topics over and over, or that post stupid things like "hey guess what I liked this game" as topics. Theres also losers who "troll" the boards, making pointless/offensive topics just for the fun of it. And if they get banned, they can just make another account, with some posting restrictions for a few days. Its also nearly impossible to post there without an argument somehow starting in your topic, and people get so technical in these arguments that there is no end to them, they just keep on pointing out one thing from each others post that would contradict it if taken out of context.

Which is why this would be a good site for FE discussions, since offensive members can be perma-banned, and topics can be edited. Gamefaqs is way behind the times forum-wise, in fact they just added sticky posts a few weeks ago. o_o?

Marlin ßeta - April 29, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
Yeah. They also have you register a non-gurlmail account. #-_- THAT'S ALL I USE! I don't have an account outside of hotmail! That is so stupid.

But more to the point, I'm glad that somebody things The Roc's Nest is better than gamefaqs. :D

Lets stay on topic, Fire Emblem. I just got another update in Nintendo Power. There are quite a few interesting changes. B) I hope I'll have time for a walkthrough when the time comes.

windseer1986 - April 29, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
Well, I'll be home in a few weeks, so I should be able to get my dad to order it through the internet(I don;t have a credit card). I have to get a job and such, but I'll try to help on a walkthrough if I can. I like how this one will let you train in side areas, which means I can build my characters to no end, which is one of my favorite things to do in games(the amount of time I spent in ffta is scary.)

Marlin ßeta - April 29, 2005 10:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah. In fact, if a group of members want to team up and write one chapter each, that would be sort of cool. Walkthroughs by The Nest. This isn't a bad idea.

It would give people the opportunity to write part of a walkthrough and be a member of something larger. People could compete over who writes the best walkthroughs. Whoever wins gets theirs published in the Aerie! But of course, you have to be a member to partake. :!: This could go somewhere. A contest that finally has a cool reward. ^_^

Issac - April 30, 2005 02:48 AM (GMT)
ok then ^_^

Here it is ^_^ :

Prologue:

All u have to do is folo the instructions ^_^

there ^_^ was that the best or wut? ^_^

Snipe104 - April 30, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
Okay, That was spam.

Here is a point you might have to consider with that contest. People who lose might feel dejected and might never come back to the Nest because of that. I just thought I should point it out. That is possibility of what might happen.

windseer1986 - May 2, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
I would think more of a co-op guide would be good. Have topics to discuss strategies people used for different chapters, and how well they worked, and figure out the pros/cons of them, and try to use different parts of different strategies to develop the best one possible.

For a (vague) example, if one person has a strategy that worked well for a certain aspect of a chapter, say taking out the units on one part of the battlefield, but they were not as successful against the reinforcements that came in from another part of the field, we could try to find the best way to integrate the strong points of that strategy with another strategy that will be able to handle all of the enemies.

Snipe104 - May 2, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
Can't forget to include the levels of your characters. That will change the way the battle will occur. That can be a major change in it.

windseer1986 - May 2, 2005 09:30 PM (GMT)
the levels of the characters would drastically change the way the strategy works, which would be a major challenge in making this guide. If certain characters were used a lot in the later stages, but the guide didnt say to use them much earlier(if it didn't say to use them for many early missions) they could be dangerouly underleveled. Also, the stats that go up when the unit levels would affect the usefulness of the character. Thats the challenge in writing a guide for a game like this: the characters turn out differently each time, and this will play a huge part in who you use.

Mathias - May 6, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
i really dont like spoilers, but im going to make an exception for this question, will i ever get a heaven seal for my other two main characters? im to curious to hold it back

windseer1986 - May 6, 2005 10:56 PM (GMT)
SPOILERS

yes, you get 3 of them total, so they all can promote. Try to make sure you only use it when they are level 20, so they can get the best stats possible.

That's a good idea, Marlin. I don't have that much time on my hands so it would be helpful to have someone else help. I'm good at later chapters.

Ashes_Of_Fire - May 31, 2005 02:53 AM (GMT)
Two questains Is this for the one on the GBA?

If so ill go round to my friends place and start a new game

Second Q: Step by Step walkthrough or Strategys?

Marlin ßeta - June 7, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)
Anywho, now that Fire Emblem has a new release can somebody write a walkthrough for it? I'm flat broke right now and I still haven't updated the Aerie properly (and I'm working so that means I have no time).

And how are everyone else's walkthroughs coming? Bet you haven't even started on 'em... But that's okay, we all get sidetracked. ^_^

SuicuneSol - June 7, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
Alright. Fine. I'll do it. I've been playing an enormous amount of Fire Emblem anyway. I got FESS last Friday and am on chapter 13. Anyone who is past me: it's because I've been training my units.

So, will I be allowed to take on this incredible feat?

Marlin ßeta - June 8, 2005 11:02 AM (GMT)
It would certainly be very helpful. ^_^ I appreciate. B)

Marlin ßeta - June 10, 2005 11:07 PM (GMT)
What do you mean, prologue? I'm afraid I don't have the time or money for FE:SS at the moment. Either way, I'll be greatful for any assistance I can get. B)

windseer1986 - June 15, 2005 06:43 AM (GMT)
I was planning on doing a walkthrough, but then I had a realization: I am terrible at Fire Emblem. Also, I am working a lot on my game, so I haven't been playing GBA much anymore.

Marlin ßeta - June 15, 2005 10:15 PM (GMT)
Alright. That's cool. Thanks for the heads up. B)

EDIT:

Has anyone made progress on their walkthroughs?

Swordmaster - July 14, 2005 10:07 PM (GMT)
Sorry old man Beta, been caught up in stuff like fishing but I'll try to do one for the Sacred Stones. :)

SuicuneSol - July 28, 2005 09:44 PM (GMT)
Okay. No one else is doing it right now right? I'm getting started.

Marlin ßeta - July 29, 2005 09:52 AM (GMT)
Great thanks. ^_^

Ashes_Of_Fire - August 21, 2005 02:52 AM (GMT)
I'd do one but it isn't out here for at least 3 more months :C
I know that if it does come out just before/after my birthday I will get it.
