Title: Museum Of Fanarts
Description: Abide by the rules.

SuicuneSol - March 11, 2005 05:28 AM (GMT)
Now, we all know what fanart is right? It's art drawn by fans of a particular thing.

Here, post the best fanart you've ever seen. NOT official art by an organization or anything of the sort. But, art drawn by people like you and me. It also must be fanart, meaning it is of some sort of hobby, which is most likely anime, a video game, or something else.

You MUST give credit to the owner and creator of the art. They worked very hard on it, and they deserve to be known by everyone. Make sure to insert a hyperlink to the site in which the fanart truly resides.

If you do not give credit to the fanart's creator, I will give a warning. A real one, yes.

Follow my format:

Oh yes, and if you must speak, speak quietly about the fanarts. In other words, praise them without spamming.

I feel so inferior to all the photoshopness... '-_- I dunno how to use it and make cool pictures into color. But, I can draw with a pencil and paper! Yay old fashioned stuff! Uh... I dunno how long it took, I did it over the course of 4 days when i had free time in school (not often). It's Dark and Krad, of DNAngel. Heheh.... I know the wings are messed up. I mean to fix it, but I no longer have the original... '-_-

Reflux where are you? Aren't you in the process of drawing Ivan?

Dark - April 26, 2005 06:22 AM (GMT)
he didn't draw that... he got it from this page

http://pantransit.reptiles.org/images/2001-09-23/

that image was drawn in 2001 as you can see

search for i_denim.jpg on that page

SuicuneSol - April 26, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
How do you know that's not Reflux's page?

Dark - April 26, 2005 07:48 PM (GMT)
he said he just finished it and that page is dated for 2001

SuicuneSol - April 28, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
Good point! Reflux, I'm disappointed with you. I'd give you a warning, but I'm too nice. Consider yourself lucky. :D (but if you do it again, I'll give you 2 warnings.)

Hmmm. I think the Ragnarok Online stuff is just okay. There isn't really anything that makes it special for me. :/

windseer1986 - April 28, 2005 02:21 AM (GMT)
I thought some of it was pretty good, but I'm unfamiliar with RO, as I have never seen/played/read about it, so I have no idea what these pictures are about.

I used to be good at drawing. If I ever get free time, I want to try to draw Ivan. I did it once, but I cant remember if it was any good.

The Ivan - April 29, 2005 01:57 PM (GMT)
that would be good! :}

i do to want to draw him! :}

Interesting story that goes with this one. (Read at your own risk)

I have a buddy from college who is totally into hentai (to the point where it's taking over his life). Anyway, he knows that I don't like hentai, and sometimes he sends me links to sites that contain hentai just to mess with me. Of course, he cleverly disguises the links in such a way that it might be a site worth checking out (which he usually gives me links to, 70% of the time). Anyway, the particular site I found this image on isn't really hentai (I think that's obvious from looking at the thumbnail) but it's just full of cute girls (unfortunately, the site no longer exists). He still says it's hentai, though. I guess sometimes his little tricks on me backfire because this image just took my breath away when I saw it. B)

Silver Chaos Adept - July 11, 2005 07:08 PM (GMT)
Eee, the 'drawing on sky with chalk' is a neat idea for a picture!

...So this guy just randomly sends you hentai links? That's... an interesting thing to do.

windseer1986 - July 12, 2005 03:15 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that is pretty wierd...
Well, it is better than sending him tubgirl, as many people have been known to do. For those of you who don't know what tubgirl is, I envy you, and I am not going to ruin your happiness by telling you.

I have found some really old mediocre fanart of ivan that I drew...maybe I will post it if I can get the scanner working.

Rozzlynn - July 25, 2005 02:48 PM (GMT)
I've heard of tubgirl. Haven't seen it, thankfully. That sky canvas one's cute.
I might as well add one of my favourite pieces too.

This is apparently by Q-Game, from the site Shining House, but the link there seems to be broken, so this is from a french site that barely seems to work either; most of the images don't load. I'm just glad this one does.

Marlin ßeta - July 25, 2005 03:14 PM (GMT)
Oh, that is so cool. It's a little strange to see Alex with a djinni, but still a really nice picture. B)

SuicuneSol - July 25, 2005 08:12 PM (GMT)
Wha-whaoW!!!! Any good hand drawn pictures of Golden Sun characters are hard to find! But to find Alex? Wow, great picture! Great find, left on the brink of destruction on a site at the edge of Weyard!

Marlin ßeta - July 25, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
Hmmm. I was just thinking of something else. Alex's hair is wrong. He has a mullet. It's not really that long at all. I suppose it's a good effect, though. B)

Once again, nice find, Rozzlynn.

Rozzlynn - July 26, 2005 12:25 PM (GMT)
Yep, it is cool. Must be that frigid air at the edge of Weyard, where the land falls away, snow spiralling off into space...

Forget 'one of', that one is my favourite. I truly wish I could see everything the artist might have drawn. Alex's hair could be almost that long; he could look like that after only a few months of letting it grow, I'm sure.

While that find was on a french site that I got to via an american site, good hand drawn Golden Sun characters aren't quite so hard to find if you look round the japanese sites the Alex fanlisting links to and use Google to try and find the sites at the other ends of all the broken links, and to translate the menus... Well, that's a little fiddly too, to be honest. I guess I should add some more to the museum. Most of those fanarts still aren't as good, though.

There's some good stuff at Intermezzo. (Edit - thanks Marlin!)

Rozzlynn. I've increased the file upload limits to 500 kb. However, most people have free imageshack accounts. Look at the URL of the chalk-girl I posted from the last page. Or I think it might be imageshack.us

You can upload huge images there and they'll provide you with free thumbnails. Good site. B)

Rozzlynn - July 28, 2005 05:00 PM (GMT)
Uhh... it seems no-one noticed my edit. What do you think? Is it worth adding more, or is the stuff from these sort of little Japanese fansites not quite Museum-quality?

Marlin ßeta - July 28, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
Oh, most of the stuff I upload isn't really "fanart" but it's just high quality drawings people make.

Most of those are really cool. I'll save them to my computer later. B)

But yes, editing a post doesn't bump the topic. I can't think of any setting in the admin control panel that would allow that.

But yes, editing a post doesn't bump the topic.

And quite rightly too. I'd merely have thought that for people who signed on later, those would have been new posts anyway. I guess not that many members frequent this thread. Your non-fanart uploads are very high quality, so I wouldn't want to lower the standard with anything even if it is fanart. Still, I think there's a fair bit I might be able to add, if those were good. Later, though.

God of the Black Flame: Canti - July 29, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
Yes, they are pretty good. My favrite is the one of Garet and Jenna. Please, by all means, add more!

Marlin ßeta - July 29, 2005 10:16 AM (GMT)
Hmmm. Personally, I like the Felix and Jenna one. Aristocracy! :D :}

Long hair... nice. ^_^
Like the fanart too. Alex looks a little strange, but not majorly so. Mia looks fantastic there.

Well, here are a few from a site I think is called Blue Cat. It seems to have been missing or broken or something for a few months now. If it ever comes back, or I find where it's gone or something, I'll be able to add the link. For now, this is all I have of it.

Yeah, yeah. He has a mullet. Your pictures are being blocked right now because I'm at work so I can't see them. u_u

But one of the older issues of Nintendo Power nominated Alex for a Nintendo Power Award of "Best Mullet." Also, If you go upstairs in the Alhafra inn (continent of Osenia) you can meet Alex and see that I'm right. His hair only comes down to just below his neck. Mullet. :ninja:

Anyway, I'll try to translate the conversation between Ivan and Mia. However, I'm afraid there is quite a bit of Kanji mixed in with the Hiragana. If it was written in all Hiragana I wouldn't have any problems. I'll see what I can do, though. :(

Great pics, as always, Rozzlynn. B)

EDIT: Okay, here's Menardi for comparison: SHE has long hair.

Marlin ßeta - August 2, 2005 01:59 AM (GMT)
Okay. I'm double posting here because I want to start a new thought.

Anyway, I went delving into my archives and I found some more goodies. I'll show them slowly so that they last longer. And I get to torture you that way! :} :D

Naw. Enjoy.

The image has some kind of watermark in the lower right. I can't make it out and I've tried several combinations. Maybe somebody else could have better luck.

Be warned though, that I got this image from that buddy I mentioned that likes to send me links to hentai. u_u

I have no idea what it says, but it's pretty!

Rozzlynn - August 3, 2005 04:08 PM (GMT)
The second one won't load; the first one looks great. Nicely coloured, all autumnal. The watermark just looks like games.enet.com.cn to me, which loads as a huge-looking Japanese site with games pictures. (That's probably the one.)

Should I wait until you're done with that thought before I add any more GS things?

Oh, and Lor, I forgot to ask - where did that fanart come from?

Marlin ßeta - August 3, 2005 05:45 PM (GMT)
Hmmm. Both of the pictures I just uploaded are working fine as far as I can tell. Why don't you try it again?

Oh, and Lor's image is the title "Splash Page" for Lemurian Moon (a defunct GS site hosted by GS Realm).
