Title: Help
Swordmaster - February 25, 2005 01:02 PM (GMT)
I'll be here in the Help section of FE for anyone who needs help on any of the chapters. I'll give hints, tips, and secrets. However most of what I say will be spoilers.
windseer1986 - February 25, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
I'm in the chapter where you have to seize the gate from Limstella. Is there any effective strategy. I have been splitting the party and going around the bottom with some and up wiht the others, trying to seize the ballistas and knock out the other ballistas/the bolting guy with them. Unfortunately, gamefaqs has informed me that there are a good 127 or so reinforcements over the course of this battle. And being a freak, I will probably try to kill them all for exp. Is there any strategy that worked for you?
Marlin ßeta - February 26, 2005 03:38 AM (GMT)
The best strategy is management for that mission. You need to make sure you don't place your troops in a dangerous place when new enemies appear. I did beat all of the enemies and I got a ton of experience. The only way to do this is to go through the first twenty or so turns a couple of times if you lose someone (I kept losing Nino who was only around level 2 (even as a Sage)).
Make sure you head into this chapter with plenty of healing items. Hopefully you've upgraded Merlinus to a cart instead of a tent (this is the last chapter you get to use him). Also, make good use of your brave weapons and any other rarities because you probably won't need them in the final stage (which requires the most unique strategy in the entire game).
Swordmaster - February 26, 2005 04:09 AM (GMT)
Another effective strategy is to split your group into three. One group that can get to the Ruin at the top right of the screen, this is the way you get Renault, you met him in chpt 18x. you should take only your strongest. However people that are at medium levels should be taken too, you can use the enemies as good ex boosters. (As Marlin said)
You should also go to the ruin south east which holds a talisman and the ruin in the middle of the screen has a ring for Nils (I forgot which one) M.Users would be fairly effective in this, mostly people who can use more than one weapon and do long and close range attacks, items like Light Brand and Rune Blade give L. Range effects.
windseer1986 - February 26, 2005 06:20 AM (GMT)
Ah I had been saving all my good stuff up. I forgot that this is the next to last fight...
is renault available in eliwood mode? I thought I saw somewhere that it was just hector.
Marlin ßeta - February 26, 2005 06:45 AM (GMT)
Nope. Renault is available on Eliwood's route for sure. You're thinking of that Swordmaster girl. Can't remember her name right now. ¬_¬ :vein:
You definitely want to recruit Renault because he has a Fortify staff that you ABSOLUTELY NEED if you want to beat the final boss without losing any of your party members. O_o
Swordmaster - February 28, 2005 06:17 PM (GMT)
Renault iis a waste, use Lucius and Marlin, you're thinking of Karla. You get Karla in Hector's story, chpt 31x, you have to have Bartre a level 5 warrior at least. He has to survive one of Karla's attacks, best way is to negate her critical with an iron rune which you get from defeating Linus/Lloyd.
Storm - March 30, 2005 04:35 PM (GMT)
Can Matthew become an assassin if you use an Earth Seal? Before I had him at like level six so i couldn't try it. I started over and now he is level 14 and I am on chapter 18. Also, is chapter 30 the last chapter? Here are some useful hints and tips for anyone to use:
Unlock Gaiden Stages
Unlocking each gaiden stage, or side quest, must be done in the chapter of the same number (i.e. Lyn's chapter 7 gaiden must be unlocked by meeting the listed requirements in chapter 7). The only exception to this is Hector's gaiden 19xx, which has an additional requirement.
Lyn Chapter 7x Finish chapter 7 in 15 turns or less.
Eliwood Chapter 13x Visit the village in the top left-hand side of the map.
Eliwood Chapter 16x Keep at least one of the NPC soldiers alive.
Eliwood Chapter 18x Finish chapter 18 in 15 turns or less.
Eliwood Chapter 22x Recruit Hawkeyes and gain 700XP or more with your entire party. Each member's XP gain contributes to this total.
Eliwood Chapter 26x Recruit Nino and have her Talk with Jaffar.
Eliwood Chapter 29x No special requirements.
Hector Chapter 13x Visit the village in the top left-hand side of the map.
Hector Chapter 17x Keep at least one of the NPC soldiers alive.
Hector Chapter 19x Finish chapter 19 in 15 turns or less.
Hector Chapter 19xx Before chapter 11, train Nils to at least level 7 and kill the magic barrier in chapter 19x.
Hector Chapter 23x Recruit Hawkeyes and gain 700XP or more with your entire party. Each member's XP gain contributes to this total.
Hector Chapter 28x Recruit Nino and have her Talk with Jaffar.
Hector Chapter 31x No special requirements.
Hector Chapter 32x Finish chapter 32 in 20 turns or less.
Here is a trick I did that is hilarious.
Control Enemy Units
Place a Mine anywhere on the field. When an enemy unit walks onto it, while they are taking damage, reset your game. When you continue your game, it shows the enemy being damaged again, and then you can control your enemy units. Use this to make them discard all of their items, retreat, or attack units that you want to level up. Note* Enemy units can only be controlled for one turn.
I made them drop alll their weapons so i could just walk over and kill them easily with no harm taken to anyone. Hee hee hee!
Secret Shops
Secret Shops are hidden on the maps and can only be found by a character with a Member's Card special item, which can be stolen from an enemy in chapter 19. These Secret Shops sell high-level weapons and even items to promote your characters. Chapter 19 - One is in the clearing between the two broken walls above the room with the two treasure chests in the upper left corner of the map, and the other is behind a wall in the lower-right corner. Chapter 21 - The empty room in the upper-left corner of the map. Chapter 23 - There are two versions of this map. If the boss is Linus, the shop will be on the right side of the map, on the island. Otherwise, it will be in the trees above the lone house slightly left of center. Chapter 29 - In the two-by-two square area left of the lone treasure chest at the bottom-left. You must use a warp staff to get there. Chapter 30 - In the very upper-right corner of the map, among the trees.
Swordmaster - March 31, 2005 02:08 AM (GMT)
no, it has 31 chapters and theives can only change classes with a fell contract which you get from Sonia in chpt 26x Eliwood's and chpt 18x Hector's. you could also buy that from the secret shop in chpt 30 Eliwood's and chpt 32x Hector's. it costs around 5000
Snipe104 - April 5, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
I was wondering something. What is support and how do you use it?
Swordmaster - April 6, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
support is when two characters build up their friendship, it adds to many things like speed, critical, attack, etc.
Snipe104 - April 7, 2005 12:57 AM (GMT)
Okay, how do you use it? Like actually build it.
Swordmaster - April 7, 2005 11:09 PM (GMT)
you have to have two compatible units beside eachother and leave them there for a great many turns, sometimes, and when you check actions (e.g. attack, item, etc) you should see the support option.
Snipe104 - April 8, 2005 12:13 AM (GMT)
DJA - April 16, 2005 12:33 AM (GMT)
on fire emblem 4 for GBA how do you get Guy (or at least i think he was cakked guy), you know the one that tells something about Mathew
windseer1986 - April 19, 2005 01:27 AM (GMT)
if somebody talks about a certain character, its usually a hint to talk to them wiht that character. I believe having matthew talk to guy will recruit him.
DJA - April 19, 2005 08:33 PM (GMT)
I tried that but when I did it didn't have the option talk it just said fight or wathever it says.
windseer1986 - April 20, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
I checked gamefaqs, and it said to talk to him wiht matthew. If that doesn't work, then...well I don't know o_O '-_-
Snipe104 - April 20, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
If that doesn't work, then your game is screwed up or something.
Swordmaster - April 24, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
To recruit Guy talk to him with Mathew, to Recruit Erk talk to him with Serra, to recruit Priscillia visit the lower village in False Friends, etc, I'll post more later.
windseer1986 - April 27, 2005 02:53 PM (GMT)
I'll post a few(*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*):
Dart- DON'T KILL HIM in the chapter where you have to reach farghus. He will join you later.
Vaida-in the first chapter you see her (I think its the one where pent and louise join you) Stay away from her(and get her uber spear with the mine trick ^_^ )
in a later chapter she will appear after many turns as an enemy, but you can talk to her with eliwood(most annoying thing ever: once I kept eliwood near the place she appears for idk how many turns, then the first turn I move him she appears, one space out of range to recruit, then she kills someone and I have to restart after a good 30-45 minutes in the chapter. :C )
jaffar/nino-battle bfore dawn- first, get nino(I think you have to talk to her with lyn), then, rescue jaffar( you should send one group down to nino and one over to jaffar so neither of them get killed) bring him over and have nino talk to him. at the end of the chapter, accept the side quest, and jaffar joins you.
geitz/wallace: chapter 23(eliwood), but which map you get(as well as which person) depends on whether your lords combined levels are over 50 or not. If they are >50, you get the map where geitz will appear. talk to him with dart. If they are <50, you will get wallace, by talking to him with lyn(note: wallace is not good)
harken/karel: if your Mages, Clerics, Monks, Shamans, Troubadours combined levels are higher than your Fighters, Mercenaries, Myrmidons, you will go to the map where kenneth is the boss. kill more than 3 promoted enemies before turn 9, and karel will appear, talk with lyn/whoevers mode you are in(e.g. hector in hector mode) if you don't kill enough promos, harken will appear, convince with the same, as well as Isadora, Marcus, Oswin or Lowen.
otherwise, if the melee levels are higher than mages, you will go to jermes map, where karel will appear if you unlock more than 4 doors by the end of turn 8, otherwise harken.

Fire Emblem Freak - July 16, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
I need help in the sacred stones. I can't get past chapter 12 as eirika. Ewan, my healers, or Eirika keep dying! I want Ewan, I've lost Joshua and that other myrmidon that you get in chapter ten! What should I do?! I need help!
Aquila - July 16, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
Why didn't you restart when you lost your Myrmidons?
Fire Emblem Freak - July 16, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
Well, I had been working on Chapter Nine for a long time, about two months to be exact, I think...And I didn't want to restart JUST because I lost a character, even though I really likeed him...Luckily, when I won, I saved on the third file instead of the first, so I could do it over trying not to lose Joshua. And I didn't lose the other myrmidon, I killed her...with Gerik. You had to talk to her with someone...I didn't know who. So I moved Innes closer, But she got to Gerik and attacked. Bloody enemies! I also lost what was her name...oh yeah, Neimi, in the same chapter as...I believe it was Mirida or something. Chapter ten...Sniff...Snif...I hope I get another archer...because I already have an orion's bolt!
Aquila - July 16, 2005 11:51 PM (GMT)
Heh. The char that's meant to talk Marika into joining your team ends up killing her instead. You have to be quick in getting Gerik to join your team.
I would try to help you but I can't quite remember what Ch. 12 is like. Who's the boss in that chapter?
Oh, and Neimi's the only Archer you'll get in the game.
Swordmaster - July 17, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
hold on you peoples... you mean the girl myrmidon that you killed, her name is Marisa. and train in the tower for Ewan, make sure you have a decoy with strong defense so Ewan doesn't have to get hit. and another thing, keep your healers protected. you should train Eirika too, the tower is also a good place for her. and trust me on this, I've beat the game ten times or somehwhat B)
and train Amelia, Ross, and Ewan, potentially the best characters in the game. Joshua is among the best to, same with Cormag. and I beat the game in a week not to brag, but it has a really good character depth.
