windseer1986 - February 24, 2005 04:17 PM (GMT)
GUA! new section!!!
hey, is this gonna be about the GBA fire Emblem, or is it going to focus more on the new ones coming out. I definately could use a few tips for the GBA one.
Marlin ßeta - February 24, 2005 04:29 PM (GMT)
Fire Emblem will soon be a small part of Aerie of the Roc. This is an effort to attract more visitors and encourage better discussions in the forums as well.
I'm going to work on getting permission to use the guides of other sites within the Aerie, but don't think that you won't be able to ask me for help as well. I've played through every part of Fire Emblem except for Hector's route (which I'm near completing). I'd like to think I have most of the secrets and strategies mastered fairly well.
So! Say hello to the latest addtion to the Nest. B)

Marlin, at the chapter where you get supplies for the last battle, if you have Bartre as a warrior and use him in that chapter, a Swordmaster named Karla will appear. This is only for Hector's route of course.
Aquila - February 25, 2005 12:47 AM (GMT)
Also, Karla will not appear unless Bartre is at least a level five warrior.
Marlin ßeta - February 25, 2005 12:49 AM (GMT)
Don't forget Farina. She's the third Pegasus Knight you can only get on Hector's route. B)
Aquila - February 25, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
It's too bad that she is so expensive.
Marlin ßeta - February 25, 2005 02:58 AM (GMT)
Don't you use arenas? If you do, she's cheap. B)
Aquila - February 25, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
Out of the many times I have played Hector Mode, I either just decided not to get her, or I got her by selling a lot of stuff.
I usually end up using arena money on weapons.
Swordmaster - February 25, 2005 04:12 AM (GMT)
Hey it took ya long enough Marlin! :P I'm the mod here! I know probably the most besides a couple of others!

If anyone needs expert help on playing a chapter for an hour only to have to restart because one person died and I don't want to lose them for the rest of the game, I can help you there:
step one: Get hit by just about every enemy attack, even though it says the enemy has a 30% chance of hitting you. Also you should miss with your 75% and up attacks. Don't worry, the game will take care of this for you.
step two:Have an enemy attack you that would normally deal zero damage, but have him get a critical hit, which automatically kills you. Yes this is true.
step three: go play FFTA or something.
edit: well maybe not. FFTA is so boring and is way too easy. I seriously think a first grader could beat it. and lookit this pic, it freaks me out:
a wierd spider

That's why it's customizable. Try to set a hard mode for yourself. Like maybe have only Marche, and a moogle or two. That should make it a bit challenging.
I liked it.
Oops. Going a bit off topic are we? Back to FE.
My favorite character's are Lucius and Canas. I like Nino too.
...perhaps - February 25, 2005 10:33 PM (GMT)
I wish I were familiar with this game so I could participate effectively here. Oh well. Have fun with this guys.

| Erk owns. Nuff said. -_- |
*cough* Ahem. Erk has an interesting attitude, but he's almost as weak as Pent  :...:
Nino and Priscilla are your best element casters.
windseer1986 - February 26, 2005 06:24 AM (GMT)
Nino is so powerful with magic sometimes its scary. I think I gave her my afas drops, cant remember tho.
Marlin ßeta - February 26, 2005 06:40 AM (GMT)
Yeah. I definitely gave my Afa's Drops to Matthew (I kept his levels low until I picked up that item). For me, he's a far better assassin than Jaffar. B)
DULLAHAN - February 26, 2005 02:09 PM (GMT)
by the way, do you get to play as marth or roy from ssbm because it says they are from fire emblem.
Aquila - February 26, 2005 02:32 PM (GMT)
No you don't get to play as them.
DULLAHAN - February 26, 2005 02:58 PM (GMT)
are they even in the game at all?
Aquila - February 26, 2005 03:13 PM (GMT)
Roy is in the game at one point, but Marth is not in the game at all.
Marth and Roy are playable in other Fire Emblem games.
DULLAHAN - February 26, 2005 03:22 PM (GMT)
wait theres other ones? i thougt there was only one.
Aquila - February 26, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
No. There are many Fire Emblem games. The one we are talking about right now is the only one that has has reached America so far though.
gyad - February 26, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
can't wait for others to reach america...
my favorite character has to be erk, lucius and canas
Marlin ßeta - February 26, 2005 04:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah. The one that Roy is in is the game the was released in Japan right before the American Fire Emblem. Roy's title is called "FE: Sealed Sword" because of the name of his weapon: the Sword of Seals. Marth hasn't appeared in a FE game since the famicom I believe. :ninja:
Jaken Veina - February 26, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
Yep. Marlin's got it.
BTW, nice avatar. ^_^
SuicuneSol - February 27, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
:P Yes, Dullahan. Jaken and I both agree that you have a nice avatar.
I liked Erk. His chin was a little disky, but in the beginning he proved to be powerful. Then, he sort of went down the drain a little later on.
And I doubt the older games will reach America. Only the new, upcoming ones are likely to come here.
Marlin ßeta - February 27, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
Hmmm. Personally, I think that for people to better appreciate Roy they need to see him in action in his own game. Eliwood is close and seeing Roy referenced in the American game was cool, but I'd still like to see one of my favorite characters in action. If I have to, I'll try to find a subbed emulator. :ninja:

SuicuneSol - February 28, 2005 01:09 AM (GMT)
Let's get into a talk of roms and emulators shall we? :D
An emulator is a program that runs games that are supposed to be on consoles. It acts like a console for your computer. It has many features, however, such as making screenshots of the game, recording music/sounds from the game, and making the game seem to have better quality. It's like the Game Boy Advance. But how do you play games with this program? There's no slot in your computer to place a cartridge is there?
A rom is the game. It is a file of the game and is illegal, unless you own an actual copy. But even then, it is still illegal. Why? Roms can be downloaded from the internet at various sites that I will not mention. :ninja: It's also very dangerous, as some people who host these roms like to attach viruses to them. So when you download them, well...some bad stuff happens. (Ex. Computer explodes, hackers gain access to your files, you lose memory.) Also, it is bad for the companies that make the games. The companies make money off them. If you don't buy their product and instead download the rom, they lose money.
Oops. We're getting too deep into that subject. Let's get back to Fire Emblem! :D
windseer1986 - February 28, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
hmmm ya I know about roms and emulators, but I dont know what a subbed emulator means.
Crap I didn't know they had viruses. the only thing I really use them for is to record the music off of them, to play chrono trigger, or to play shining soul 2 because I have never been able to find it in a store :( (I'm still looking though)
Marlin ßeta - February 28, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
It's a subbed rom if somebody hacked it and went to the trouble of translating the Japanese into English.
windseer1986 - February 28, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Ah I've had those before, only usually about a fourth of the way into the game it stops being english and starts being unintelligible symbols, or masses of dots... 8|
DJA - March 1, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
mmm... the amulators also could be used to flay Windows programs on Linux.
