Title: 9hrs Of Work On Saturdays Sucks
Bored383 - November 22, 2009 09:19 PM (GMT)
well . . . I should say 2hrs of work on saturday night that segues into 7hrs of work on Sunday morning is not fun
watching the sun come up at work, after being up for over 24hrs, is not fun
oh the joys of phone systems upgrades

 I've never felt sympathy for people that cannot find work unless it's due to a physical condition. From elementary school on, I've been finding ways to earn/make money that I didn't morally object to (because there are a lot more ways of making money doing objectionable things, after all).
If you guys are so adamant about finding work, what's holding you back? If it's an issue with earning a certain amount, then that I can sympathize with... but standards change. Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

the real unemployment rate right now is nearly 18%
of course this is not a national outrage being whined about on the cable news networks 24X7 for a reason . . .

I dunno. About every Mcdonald's, BK, Taco Bell, Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, Meijer, and damn near every retail store is hiring. Escpecially right now. It might be a crappy job but sometimes you have to do what you have to do to make things work.

Here's an economic theory you don't read about either; life is expensive for everyone, and they want to make the most of it. If you can find a way to help people, they'll appreciate it...and make sure they appreciate it in monetary form. Treat businesses like people, and realize that the people that make the business are individuals as well, and you'll be fine. You have a computer and you have the internet, knowledge is free these days; and knowledge in the right place at the right time is very appreciated. Even with nothing but a high school diploma under my belt, I've had a job that netted $150/hr for a day. That's just one day, sure, but these things add up. It's not an exact science, but that's life....and life is expensive.

Unemployment 18%? Meh! That's the under-employment rate added to the current unemployment rate. A totally bogus stat. since under-employed people are still working, just not 40 hours a week.
Bored I hope you were just kidding! Since you and TM are the only ones I tend to agree with around here most of the time.
Peace!
P.S. Siress I'm with you on this!

Worked a 48 hour shift Thanksgiving and the day after. Got a grand total of 4 hours of sleep over the course of it.
So much for having a slow Holiday!
