Title: Mw2

Okay enough with the fanfare and reviews, I hate that modern games are so short. I love FPS games, But they tend to be beatable in a few hours now. SNES and earlier systems used to make games that were so incredibly long. Modern stuff is a ton of fun and the graphics are so rich even on my CRT setup I sometimes cant believe im playing a game and not watching a movie. But the game seems to be over about as soon as it began.

Also I hate online only content and options.

I dont want my system to have to be connected to the net. Granted I am wired in with a hard line but I just want to be able to turn on the system and go forth to fun time. NO signing into an account or setting up a profile.

Also what gives with save settings.

On some of the older systems you might not be able to save every five seconds which upped the challenge level, but you also could have a few different profiles saved at different points in a game.

Or even codes you could pop in that wouldnt alter your saved data. Some codes were just for fun and made it more challenging.

Never less I wont give up my PS3. I just with things were different.

The thing with MW2 you need to realize is that it's biggest draw is it's online multiplayer. That is pretty much the point of the game. The single player campaign is pretty much just thrown on there to make it a "complete" game.

You can spend almost endless hours playing the multiplayer version getting all the prestiges and achievements.

if your 12 you have no reson to be playing COD

If you're over 12, you have no reason to be playing video games.

I dont want to have to play multiplayer to get achievements or stats or cool weapons.

There are no multiplayer achievments in MW2. Everything is unlockable through single player and spec ops modes. You gain rank and develop classes and unlocks in spec ops. The game allows you to play that mode with a single friend, but you don't have to. You can also do local split-screen with that mode. Just like old times.

The only difference between this game and these fantasy games of yore is that they threw in a large multiplayer experience.

My beef is that they didn't fix many of the problems the last game had. Lag is still a huge issue, your party gets broken up half the time when you try to join a game, matchmaking just plain sucks all around and they really messed with the flow of the game in general. A lot of people dislike the new maps and most of the weapons suck. Some of the new stuff is nice but honestly I'd rather have fewer options that were more balanced. As it is, there are a handful of good choices and a lot of garbage. They made the shotguns a little more useful, for example, but I just don't understand where video games get the idea that shotguns are random-pattern cones of death inside 15 feet and totally useless at 16+ feet. I've watched a lot of killcams where my opponent's screen is filled with red from my tracers (also, everything shoots tracers all the time) but because he was one inch out of range, it did nothing and he just shot me. I also dislike what they did to bullet penetration in this game. It's a much more effective tactic and that's not bad in itself, but I think they failed to make it properly transparent. One concrete wall will block bullets but another concrete wall that looks just like it will let them right on through. Wooden structural columns might as well be velveeta but just try getting a bullet through a tree half its diameter. Not that I really care which parts of the map have which density, but I just wish it were more transparent and I could easily visually tell which was which.

Anyhow, I've got some issues with the game but I think my biggest problem is that I'm just not very good at this one. For whatever reason, I was good at CoD4 but I'm barely average at MW2. I don't really see how that happens because it feels like the same game.

I wish the campaign were longer for sure, I feel you on that.

My belief is that this game is an in between for MW3; something to hold over the people who want the next best thing and put some cash in the coffers. Therefore, they skimped on a lot of things and just slapped things together.

That said, I do have fun. Running around with Akimbo G18s, marathon, lightweight, and steady aim is a hoot.

I have only played online multiplayer. I think I have .000005% complete of special ops and as far as the story line play, I keep killing the 3 guys on the top of the balcony after jumping into the hummer for the ride through the streets..........so..........I FAIL MY MISSION.

Screw the game other than online play!
