Climate change belief given same legal status as religion

this will be fun today . . . a friend of mine who is far more atheist than I is also a big AGW proponent . . . his head is gonna explode now

How can someone be "more atheist?"

maldon007 - November 9, 2009 03:22 PM (GMT)
"Belief in man-made climate change is not a new religion, it is a philosophical belief that reflects my moral and ethical values and is underlined by the overwhelming scientific evidence."

If it is so proven by overwhelming evidence, you would think it would not need fervent "belief"... that it would just be evident... and not need "protection" the way an unprovable belief, like religion does

how about more anti-religious than me?

lol . . . in the end, I don't care what anyone else chooses to believe - so long as they stay off my lawn, aren't knocking on my door, shoving it in my face, or screaming at me about my non-beliefs

this guy is not as tolerant as that

Do me a favor, Bored. Tell that guy I'm praying for him.

So in England it would be legal to fire me for understanding science but illegal to fire me for irrationally believing in anything else? I could be fired for believing in global warming, a spherical earth, the earth revolving around the sun and evolution, but I would be fine if I told everyone global warming is a conspiracy, the earth is flat, the sun orbits the earth and we were all made out of dust 5,000 years ago? So now in England you have to be irrational about your rationality in order to save your job.Nice going England.

One of these things is not like the others...
