Played with the Ghost today (November 27th, 2009) and I was amazed!
High of 45F in the sun, but we played in the woods most of the day. Right off of the river, so lots of moisture making it seem colder.
Chronoed ~315 out of the box, turned it down to ~275+/-4
I usually got through almost 3 tubes before I needed to change my next 12ie out. IIRC, the first game and a couple more mid-day I was able to
reload 3 tubes before I had to change it out, so I got over 30 shots off of one!
In nice weather, I may even expect to get 50+!
Very light, I was running up and down the field like I never have before. I even was able to make a 200 foot bump-up, hurdle a log-pile on the way, shoot a guy in the head, and then surrender someone before getting shot!
Half way through the day, I was going to switch to semi to waste some paint. I got my 98 out, changed my mind for the RT Pro, then after shooting 4 pods off I went back to the Ghost. I did experience some issues shooting the RT Pro (hopper batteries dying, lvl10 chopping paint), but I could just as easily switched to the 98. No, though, I was compelled to play with the Ghost!
Not a single roll out thanks to the detent, the pump stroke was always positive and smooth. I never had a double feed aside from pumping it, forgetting I pumped it, and pumping it again.
Very snappy trigger tuning, it is very quick to fire.
The grips are comfortable, and never made an akward angle or anything. And the balance makes it a snapshooting machine!
The only thing bad about it's performance and playing feel, is that it can be a bit long at times...
Personally, I don't think I'll ever get another VSC gun. Maybe a Sheridan SC marker like a KP-2, but not another nelson.
I may even buy the feedneck adapter Lapco makes to use this as my vert-feed OC pump as well!
This thing amazes me more than my first Automag did! And that is saying a LOT!
Just for kicks, I filmed myself cleaning it...
