cool idea. i like the one shot deal. you could probably make some kind of square feed tube and have a stack of first strike rounds if you ever wanted. it would have that old school look. (i know thats not what your looking for just saying)
DCB12 - August 28, 2009 10:27 AM (GMT)
Sweet! How far does it shoot?
Peace
brokenzipper - August 28, 2009 11:29 AM (GMT)
yes, how far and accurate does it shoot? also, i can see soldering a sight rail on this baby for more accuracy. very nice looking piece.
Murf the Elder - August 28, 2009 12:03 PM (GMT)
What are the FS rounds for exactly? Are they supposed to go further? Be more accurate?

Nicely done.
You need some competition sights on that mother.
cockerpunk - August 28, 2009 02:33 PM (GMT)
yeah i might rig up some sights. im a terrible shot with a pistol, and this gun is certainly more accurate then me at long range.
Gazoo - August 28, 2009 03:08 PM (GMT)
First strikes are awesome. Need to get another Sheridan and do a bolt action for mine.
First strikes shoot dead on and hard. Have to chrono with them, as I started with good fit paint and shot 370 then put in a FS round, shot 350. So, watch out for that.

Funny side note - I'm really good with a pistol... as long as I can stand still.
I can't play paintball without a stock. For whatever reason, I just can't do it.
Then again, I've never had a paintball gun with actual sights, so it's entirely possible that's the problem instead.

me too. without a stock snap shooting is impossible.
the good news is that this is not a snap shooting gun. its a stalemate breaking gun. when everyone else is sitting on top of the hill hip shooting into the woods, i can be there smokin bitches.
brokenzipper - August 28, 2009 05:13 PM (GMT)
whats the cost of the fs rounds now? isnt it about a buck a ball? hope it goes down
the underdog - August 28, 2009 05:32 PM (GMT)
i think i saw crumbs on your shirt! :)
nice gun, but sweeter crumbs!

oooo that's cool ... can i has one?!
Chemical X - August 28, 2009 07:48 PM (GMT)
And there goes the supply of cheap PGPs.
I was really hoping to capitalize on them with making some interesting creations.
No less though you have the beginning of a nice piece there. I am wondering how you will finish it up.
Murf the Elder - August 28, 2009 07:51 PM (GMT)
I'd love to do that on a P68 with a Crossman stock. :D
It might also be neat to do with a Sniper. Remove the bolt, put in FS, replace bolt, cock, fire.
cockerpunk - August 28, 2009 09:00 PM (GMT)
the magic of this gun isn't the first strike ... its the size!
you can go on to the field with a normal gun, and this easy as pie. a longer and heavier or stocked gun would take that away, and you would be forced to shoot either real paintballs one at a time, or FS all the time.
the reason i like this is that i can play with it on my hip, and then switch it out when things get boring.
Chemical X - August 28, 2009 10:17 PM (GMT)
So is it finished right now then?
cockerpunk - August 28, 2009 10:36 PM (GMT)
maybe
i want to make a system that positions the round correctly with just the bolt.
then maybe sights.
brokenzipper - August 28, 2009 11:57 PM (GMT)
I was thinking along the lines of a small sight rail with a red dot sight. nothing huge, just something to get the job done.
yellowpumpguy - August 29, 2009 12:09 AM (GMT)
Need a video of you actually hitting something with it. To see exactly how well it shoots.
casper - August 29, 2009 03:13 PM (GMT)
Take an old sc phantom body and cut a hole on the side big enough to slip a first strike in and you will have the ability to shoot f.s. rnds and regular paint.Samething if you want just a one shot f.s mod the top of an sc breech to fit them and put a sight on the back (sight rail) and drop'em in from the top.
crazyorigin - August 29, 2009 04:37 PM (GMT)
Nelspots w/ the sleeved barrels are also great tinker fodder for something like this. Drill out the spot welds, pop out the old barrel, turn down a good barrel for a slip fit, set screws to hold it, or use stainless and weld it in place. I bought a bunch of bodies but they have all seemingly been gobbled up into half finished projects. This winter may be the magical one where i get a few done.
Chem, this gun reminds me of yours i have here getting worked on. It is a neat concept and i may build one for myself.
I do have a feeling the used PGP market is gonna stop dropping, i would like to be able to just buy cartrige valves and make some Sheridans from scratch, i could call them Suttons, and they'd still be made in NY :D
Chemical X - August 29, 2009 04:57 PM (GMT)
I would buy dueling sutton pistols.
casper - September 2, 2009 09:57 PM (GMT)
I am working on it as we speak!!!
Jtek - October 19, 2009 07:17 AM (GMT)
Clever assassination pistol :D two thumbs up! I like the one-shot-pwn style these rounds bring...a paintball sniper's dream round.
Many, many videos on Youtube about the FirstStrike rounds for those who are curious about them. Max range was shown to be 530-540 feet, with the rounds still breaking on target.
Several videos of people shooting 6 inch groups at 100-150 feet, and body/head shots at 90-100yards...pretty sick stuff.
Deffinately a major advantage over the next guy from what i've seen.
They can be muzzle loaded into regular markers, only clip-fed Tiberius guns can shoot them semi-auto so far.
They cost $5.99 for 8 shots, very expensive to shoot a LOT...but with that kind of range, and accuracy...it brings forth an entirely new form of the game.
Gazoo - October 19, 2009 07:40 PM (GMT)
At the sherwood game, Crafty on Damage modded a KP to have a sliding cover so he could load one at a time. From the top of the castle he was picking people off easily.
casper - October 21, 2009 01:33 PM (GMT)
I opened up the breech a little on my s.c. phantom body, and along with a redux 1 piece feed I can empty paint out and drop a f.s. in shoot and then reload paint and go for it.The regular stock phantom s.c. feed will work but it will take alot of dremal machine time !!

"Your voice pisses me off really, really bad." -Ghost### on youtube.com
Now I know I'm not alone. People that talk through their nose must have a hard time dealing with other people...'cause it pisses us off really, really bad.
...wonder what you'd sound like on some of that medication used to alleviate snoring via numbing the soft palate... lol
Anyway, we need someone to make a magazine feed like the kind used on FN P90's so that we can have pump action First Strike rounds on a horizontal feed.

Quick and easy sight would be to just toss on a shotgun sight. I can't remember where I saw one last but if you haven't seen them before...
http://www.hivizsights.com/Shotgun-Plain-B...-MPB-P39C1.aspxCheap and it would keep your minimal profile. I had one on my Classic 'Mag back in the day...
