Title: The Stockest Class Evar!
Description: The build of the one baller
crazyorigin - July 11, 2009 12:16 AM (GMT)
This year at SPE, a friend (ChemX) told me about an idea he had for a gun build, and if it would be something i'de be interested in tackling for him. The build sounded easy enough, so i accepted, how often can you hack someone elses stuff up and they are excited about it. He gave me an old PGP that could definelty have used some customizing. As usual, i procrastinated for a long time on it, but the other day i said, "i need to get this thing done so he can have it at Pandemonium" Its starting to shape up pretty quickly, work has been slow lately so i have a great oportunity to work on his gun.
So far i have cut off the radius on the Velocity Adjuster, and the 12g plug. It also has a custom 12g dummy and cocking knob for the bolt. I was gonna make a new bolt, but the knob was much easier, and the bolt in the gun was a nice gas thru job, and the hammer pin has a nice sliding mechanism which i think will be very necessary for the one ball feed setup. Chem dont need no stinkin hopper....or feedtube. Just a pocket full of balls. I also filed down the ends of the barrel so there were no dings in them, and deburred/filed off some wear and tear, and other blemishes. the brass wire sight bead is just taped on for now to get a visual idea of what it will be. it will be trimmed where it goes over the feedport, and the front may end up being a little shorter as he plans to run a raincover on it. Next on the list of mods will be a collar to hide the exposed threads of the ASA, Nickle plating, and getting the trigger sear to engage the hammer. This should be done for Pandemonium for sure, unless something very strange happens, or i fall back into procrastination hibernation.

Nova expects some more beef jerky:

Then he will make his happy face:

P.S Yes, the dog did chew the corner off the cabinet when he was a pup, but he knows the error of his ways now.

AAAAAAAAAA, waiting is killing me.
I am really anxious to use that gun.
crazyorigin - July 11, 2009 12:41 AM (GMT)
Does the Knob look acceptable? I will have it blacked out for you too. It feels realy nice to grab actualy, for as simple as it is, and the little time it took i am happy. It can be easily pinched from multiple angles. I will be ploishing the barrel a bit for you too. Any interest in a Widget install? I think it will be pretty easy to do, no need to spend $50 on a "pro (haha)" job.

Stock class? Is...is that a quick changer?! Bah.
:P
I'm curious about the 1/8" rod... and the feed tube.

what feedtube? there is no feedtube....there was but it will be going on one of my guns, this one is single shot. A sachel of balls is your hopper, and your hand is the feedneck  The rod is some scrap wire stock i straightened out the end a bit, it will be soldered on as a sight rail, mostly for decoration, but it may also aid in sighting of the gun once you got used to it. I'de like to think this would be aceptable as stock class.
I bet it will be fun as he// to use, it feels realy cool to hold, almost like a real pistol w/ a foregrip you want to just tuck it up under your neck and blast someone w/ it.

Everything looks great. I think I will like the handle/knob more than that hack T handle I came up with.
Widgets would be awesome.
I took one of the pics as a new desktop.
-----------
This will be the coolest gun at my field fo sho.
skx762 - July 11, 2009 05:47 PM (GMT)
That would be a really nice cocking knob for a side tube PGP too.
Chemical X - July 12, 2009 06:04 AM (GMT)
Actually I think you are probably right. I have a side tube that easix made for me. I wont mod that one because its loaded with positive easix mojo, but I will size up a mod like it.

I took a better look at the front plug, The plug looks great that way. I think the plug looks more industrial being shaved down that way.
crazyorigin - July 14, 2009 11:55 PM (GMT)
I like the plug snub nosed like it is too. I was thinking of taking an endmill in and down thru the slit in it so you will still be able to put it on w/ a screwdriver. But once its tight, it shouldnt back up realy, some padded pliers will get it very tight. Gotta make the collar for it here in the next couple days, then solder it together, polish the inside of the barrel, then plate it. Should be ready to test fire soon.

You are the man.
Will nova be coming this year?
crazyorigin - July 15, 2009 01:26 AM (GMT)
He probably wont come to pandemonium. We will see, it is hard for me to take him to events because he likes to bark his head off if i leave him somewhere un attended, plus i imagine i will be busy playing, we will see. He did enjoy all that beef jerky you have him, i'm sure he would remember you. He had some deadly farts on the drive home though, i think it was from the jerky :P windows down for sure (t)
Chemical X - July 15, 2009 02:13 AM (GMT)
Alrighty. Having five dogs I can definitely understand.
I thought I had some jerky left, if I find it ill give it to you.
Chemical X - July 23, 2009 05:26 AM (GMT)
One question.
Is that the original bolt?
But further more.
One week left and I can hardly wait.
crazyorigin - July 24, 2009 02:21 AM (GMT)
yes, i modified the original bolt for the knob i made.
Chemical X - July 24, 2009 04:05 AM (GMT)
Very cool.
I was thinking about doing a similar mod to the PGP sitting here in parts.
crazyorigin - July 27, 2009 09:22 PM (GMT)
Got the thread hiding collar made today, came out pretty nice.

Chemical X - July 29, 2009 03:01 AM (GMT)
Freakin awesome!!!!!!!!
I cant wait to gogg fraggles with that thing.
crazyorigin - July 29, 2009 10:47 PM (GMT)
I made up some tooling to do my own ball detents. I'm calling them "Ticklers" They make your balls shoot propper. They were realy quite a breeze to do, and to do rite for that matter. Also pictures now is the top sight bead again, and some wire down in the seam for some more trim, and visual appeal.

They are similar, but more of an Americanized version. They spit less when they talk.

Greetings,
That's nicer than nice, that's SECKSIE!
LOVE IT!!!
Chemical X - August 6, 2009 07:39 PM (GMT)
I was priviliaged enough to check it out this weekend and I have to say that pics do not do it justice. The gun has some serious attitude to it.
Silk - August 7, 2009 01:04 AM (GMT)
Very cool looking! I'd love to get my hands on a bolt-action single ball PGP.
Chemical X - August 7, 2009 02:41 AM (GMT)
Its crazy small. Its almost a fist full of firepower. I am trying to come up with a good name for it. When I get something it may be put into the finish of it.
Silk - August 7, 2009 03:01 PM (GMT)
Pocket rocket!

I think it would be neat to move the rail back - flush with the back of the body, and mill the feed slot through the rail, so you could load the balls down through the rail.

How well does the T2 frame fit on the brass?
