Description: The 3EV help group.

I know that a bunch of us tried to quit smoking earlier this year.
I myself hit a bump and fell of the wagon. Weak I know, but it helped me from not stabbing someone. I plan on quiting in the near future just not sure when.
Im wondering how everyone else was doing??
--------EDIT--------
I know its hypocritical but Ive been counseling people out here about quitting tobbacco use, so If you wanna talk about it pm me or something

Thats like taking dieting advice from a 300 lbs chick.
Im still riding the wagon, since November. but I want a smoke every day. It is a pain in the arse driving all day seeing people smoke and drive, i can smell the driver in front of me, she is smoking marb meds. but i figure at $4 a pack, 1 1/2 packs a day, $6 a day times 30 days a month, $180 a month. thats a car payment.
best of luck to anyone trying to quit, its a bit@h

I think the wagon rolled over me as i fell off! :)
My girl and I have been trying to quit but that didn't work out very well, i felt i was on the edge of being able to, but...
All i know is the patch gave me some freaky-deaky dreams. Like epic horror movie type dreams, CRAZY!

Sept 20 will be 8 years since I quit and I was a pretty serious smoker so it can be done. About once a year i'll buy myself something really cool (like an S6) with my "cigarette money" LOL
UD I had the same problem with the patches... had to start taking them off before I went to sleep or I would have wierd dreams all night.

let me get some of those patches please :)

shucky - ducky... lol ... im searching you tube right now
good luck on the quitting and stuff...
I quit when my wife had our first child... of course i had only been smoking heavily for a much shorter time than most that are trying to quit.
everyonce in a great great while usually while im drinking a beer... i still smell one and get bad "just one drag" thoughts... 7 almost 8 years and counting ...
it gets easier

Yeah Ive been smoking for 8 years and this was my 3rd attempt. I was doing great but this one time the stress really got to me.
UDawg: Just like Ray said, If you take the patches off about 1 hr before you go to bed it prevents you rom getting the freaky- deaky dreams.
Also have you asked your Docs if you could get on some Zyban. It helped me take the edge off of the first couple of weeks.

Now, don't get me wrong, i LOVE those dream/nightmares. I know it sounds weird, but i normally don't remember my dreams, so A.) for me to remember them is cool. and B.) It's like having access to a subconcious TV with only one channel, the Imagination Channel. and let me tell you it is crazy! It's like Netflix for the imagination yo! I wake in the middle of those dreams and am itching to get back to sleep so i can see what's going to happen next.
It's like a battle between left and right brain. It's like one side is tricking the other side into thinking it's real. That's crazy! But i've noticed that a.) I never get to be a ninja or fly. and b.) it's always a mish-mash of stuff i've seen on TV for the like the last two or three days sprinkled with some kind of whack work or home experience that happened the day before. It'll have some Military Channel that i watched 2 days ago and the last thing i was watching on TV before i go to bed. Like Bill Cosby meets Rambo meets me at work in a dream type stuff.
weird i know...
time to go to sleep, work kept me up all night and i think i'm delirious! but some baby gots a new heart so it was a good night overall :)

Just got my patches today, but waiting till sunday to use em. Next 3 days are the busiest at work for the year so I';ll be smoking fo' sho! Hopefully I'll kick it, 8 bucks a pack is just too much. YUP 8 friggin bucks, gotta love NY! Ive heard about the dreams hoping I wont get em. Also, i heard acupuncture woreks really well if you insurance covers it.
