Title: Segregation -bad
weltman - May 4, 2009 10:09 PM (GMT)
Okay. This game has traditionally boiled down to SCP vs. Paintball Marshals. Since the Marshals presence at the game has become nigh extinct you can now substitute MCB (many are both).
I have always fought for the Marshals. I made this decision one the trivial fact that the SCP guys use aluminum modern Phantoms and the like while the Marshals use heavy brass twenty years out of date technology. I don't like how divided we've become. I have friends on both sides like I'm confident we all do.
This year I will cross the line of segregation and play on the SCP side. Maybe we can mix it up some?

Hear, hear!
I've never really minded which side I was on (though I did enjoy shooting certain people B) ) and I think it's fair to say that having both teams well-balanced is more important than any other aspect concerning dividing up teams.
I don't think a random selection the morning of will really work (especially considering how many people don't make it to the briefing) but it'd be sweet if we could work out some way to at least keep a tally of how many people were on each team at sign-up so that if someone wanted to enlist in the shorthanded side...

The above posts are most definitly true and it needs to be broken up in the true spirit of the game.
I will most likely go along with anything you guys come up.

It's just a thought of goodwill. I don't think there is an actual problem. As creatures of habit we gravitate to the same comfortable things. This bugs me. I want to swim upstream to help ensure it never becomes the Hatfields and McCoys.

If people can agree to play for either side no matter which one then it's possible to hand out opposite team wrist bands/arm tape for every other person. When a waiver is handed over you get your weekend wristband, color alternates every other person. Easily assuring a balanced number of players for each side as well as a randomness to the team selection. The problem though is that generally there tends to be a lot of small groups who prefer to stick together, and if they prefer to then I really wouldn't want to force them to break up their group.
We'll most likely have to try and write down or somehow keep track of registrations for which side and if too many are on one side then people will have to be given the side wristband w/ lower number of people.
I generally don't look at the games like "Group A" vs "Group B", be it Marshals, MCB, SCP, which ever. I look at it like Red VS. Blue, the arm band colors. That's how I'll look at it this year, too. Last year I didn't play for "SCP" I played for the Deadites. I don't care if the majority of the people on the team I'm playing with are on one forum or another. I only care if the people on the field are having a good time.

Im all for mix'n things up a bit but i would jest like to say that i do not get to play with all my friends on SCP much and there are some that i would rather be on the same team with. But in the end i come more for the pre and post game fun, and my side is picked for me anyway.

It looks like im doing my first generaling ever. Ill be general for the muppets and darkwaters will be my second.
As for teams I will take anyone who wants to play. The main forums involved produce great players and I would be honored to take the field with any of them and versing anyone.

I myself would like to play with SCP, like Darkwaters I don't typically play with SCP members. However I am pretty much going for the game itself. I'll be playing muppets hopefully with Chem, unless of course some rule as discussed prohibits me from playing muppets.
