For some of this that are on all the time it would be nice to chat in real time. It might offer some users to find out something sooner that it would on the regular forums. I also think that this would help keep the forums a little cleaner as well.
What do you all think?

I was thinking more along the lines of like a shoutbox that is linked to the site rather than a 3rd party program.

if you use firefox...just install chatzilla... it's super easy to use.
it only takes 5 mins to set up if that...
and the current chat cost nothing...

Or, a shoutbox could be enbedded and it would be super convienent for everyone. Espcially those of us who aren't all that tech savvy.
