Mercs. I had in mind a group of 5-10 players, tops. But not like cannibals on an island constantly roaming for food.
Mercs can only be hired once every hour. And only for a set amount of time, like 20 minutes. They aren't magical or special. They don't eat your brains and you become one of them. And you don't need special ammunition to eliminate them. Temporary hired muscle, that's it.
Maybe even make it a requirement that mercs have to use stock class guns? Or limited amo? Dunno. Give your input.
What is everybody's thoughts? Does it seem like a fun addition to the game? Or does it seem to take away too much focus?
I'm really on the fence here. I'd love to have a little group running around causing havoc, although I wonder if we'll be pushing the the KISS principle. I'm liking the idea of IF we have them, impose some limitations, such as SC guns or something. No vote for now, I'd rather we come up with what the mercs would be, do and how many before I cast my vote, although that my be putting the cart before the horse.
I thought about it for the past couple days. And I do like the concept, however from 1 year to the next it might be too much added. So I even voted no on this one. Simple missions and a final battle seem to be getting positive approval for V, and melting those into the pot should be sufficient. Mercs can be held off for another year.
I've played games with mercenaries, and even been one myself. Even for experienced players, it causes confusion.
