turbo chicken - January 16, 2007 04:24 AM (GMT)
I looked at all of them ... pistols that is ... and decided on a usp on price and parts availibility such as spring kits so I can optomize it for 12ies ...
now before i go and get one of these ... i figured that i'd get your opnions/testimonials on them ...
thanks for your time

Well I understand thay accept spyder parts, and some pirhana as well.
I have seen spring kits for spyders so I think you could tune for more efficiency from a 12gram.
I have no experience with them at all though.

If you just want a sidearm... they are ok. I never liked the grips, and the gun is ugly. It never did feel quite right.

-ill look :ph43r: around for a used one ... at $80.00 new i figured i could get one for about $50.00 and sping kit for about 10.00 ...
-I've been wanting to play with devolumizing air passages on a blow back for a while ... this looks like the perfect opportunity!! :D
-Not too bad of an initial investment ... besides ill need a semi after the p-mag is complete
and it would be used as primary when i use it ... investing in a 3.5 and a dummy co2 may be something too look into also ...

You can put a pipe tip from evil on the end and extend the barrel for a cool look.
I sold one to a friend. He likes it a lot. He was surprised at the accuracy.

so the grip wasn't comfortable ... i've seen a few spyder single trigger 45's on ebay ... bet they would bolt right up ...

if you are talking about frames, they probably wont mate up without modification. Ive tried matching up PMI guns with Kingman frames... didnt work. You are going to need a Piranha frame, and usually those are uncomfortable compared to Spyder frames. Maybe new grips could help.

I don't suggest you get one, I don't know about everyone else, but I had the most terrible time trying to reload it. It's design looks decent, but hands on, the reload system is yucky!

reload seems to be a little clunky. The knob that you turn for reloading would be tough to turn quickly and steadily with gloves on. tigger feels solid and looks well made. But it does look like a laser pistol because the barrel sticks out quite a bit.

I ahd some semi bad luck witht he two I owned. For the price they aren;t bad but if you can spend a little more get one of the good zues modes. I hear those are nice and I have used smith's old one. I liked it a lot. I had to mod mine to make it work right but I sold it and now I own a Sydarm and looking to get a zues to add to my collection of pistols. (Is a VSC phantom with a 10 rouns tube and a 8" barrel a pistol?)
