I went to death mountain to the top and went inside the big cavern with the big yellow rock eating creatures and i know i have to stop the big one from rolling but i dont know how!!!! ive tried everything i could think of but i always get ran over!

You have to plant a bomb in front of him. The timing has to be just right so it explodes just as he's about to roll into it :)

Actually you don't have to stop him from rolling to get on with the game. To get to the next dungeon all you do is go to the bottom floor stand on the carpet in front of the door with the Goron {yellow rock eating creature} and play Zelda lullabye. After that play sarias song for the guy inside of the door that opens.
