Title: Question

NeverB4Seen - April 4, 2005 06:45 AM (GMT)
Just wondering why things aren't happening very fast? Are you guys doing this project in your spare time and not spending very much time on it or is this like a big thing that you spend a bunch of time on. Because I last checked this site at the end of January and when I got on today nothing was different. Not even the pic of the month...

Why the slow progress??

Knives101 - April 4, 2005 07:17 AM (GMT)
 well I ain't part of it, but I can tell you this its a big project. and they aren't showing us all they've done for good reasons, and won't show us till they finish.

Duranix - April 4, 2005 09:27 AM (GMT)
it basically works like this:

the less they show, the more we grow (the forums, and the fan base).

it keeps the suspense up.

Yea, I mean what the hell is wrong with the team, things like this ONLY take a week to release inteam updates, make overall progress on the engine, and ONLY two weeks to release.

DUH

The Mango, ladies and gentlemen. LOL.

NeverB4Seen - April 4, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
Just to clarify, I do not mean any disrespect for the CTRP team at all because this is a great thing that you guys are trying to do.

And yes Duranix, it does keep up the suspence. But what I think would keep up the suspence more is if they actually had a different screenshot for every month. I don't mean release the entire area of screenshots, just like one or two. Yeah they may be beginning scetches and not even the final scetch but it gives us(the ones excited and heavily anticipating it's release) something more to expect. Instead of releasing a whole song, release a 15 second clip of it.

It's little things like this that back up words. How you keep saying that progress is going great, then we here that someones comp crashed and took all their work with it makes me think that you basically have nothing done on this project.

Again, I say that I'm not meaning any disrespect. I'm just letting the team know that some of the fans of this site are getting disinterested because of the fact that nothing new is happening. It's all just words to us and no visual progress.

But keep up your work guys! I am really excited for it's release! I hope you can post some new things soon!

Yea I guess a little screenshot now and then wouldn't hurt, even if it's still a work in progress. :ph43r:

TheBrain - April 5, 2005 02:22 PM (GMT)
Ok, i will explain... Basicly this is a big project and we're taking our sweet time to have fun doing this and to our stuff look actually good. We're even learning in the process.

If this was our job we could spend much more time on the project, however it isn't.
I know it's hard to some of you to have to wait for the updates wich are some months away from each other, believe that if we could, we would also have big updates more frequently.

Knives101 - April 5, 2005 07:03 PM (GMT)
 S'all good Brain buddy, patience is a virtue after all. B)

GalaxyFalcon - April 5, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Its just exciting to see new stuff, is all. But I think, in general, most of us who are regulars here at the fourms are pretty patient. besides, look at all the fun we're having.

Heyjohnny - April 6, 2005 07:40 AM (GMT)
Seriously, I think that a new picture would be hard, and if you needed to at the last second to draw the epoch in five minutes, I'd be satisfied. It gives a good reason to come to the site (along with the forum). no wut i meen?

NeverB4Seen - April 22, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
Here here Heyjohnny!

rpgfan3233 - April 22, 2005 10:54 PM (GMT)
Well, I have something to contribute to this.

What about the fact that if they release content on a more frequent basis, couldn't SE shut it down sooner, if they are going to shut it down? Just something for the impatient ones to think about.

Knives101 - April 22, 2005 11:02 PM (GMT)
 Actually if I remember right that is one of those good reasons why they only release a small bit everyonce and while. So yes thats another reason why. Also as much as I too would like to see another clip to drool over, we have to be patient no one is getting paid for this project, its done by fans with there own lives to deal with, if they want to be secretive about it don't complain, just be glad its being worked on and will be finished someday.

The Mango - April 22, 2005 11:16 PM (GMT)
Also the team doesn't owe you guys anything. They don't have to show anything from here on to release if they didn't want to.

WolfPack - April 23, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
Very true. That actually may not be a bad idea. It will starve off some of the attention.

NeverB4Seen - May 7, 2005 06:30 AM (GMT)
From what I understand is that the CTRP team's goal is to get more people to the site and excited about the remake. Why would you want to get people to leave if that's opposite the goal of the site?

The reason behind a website is to get more people involved is it not? Why would you want to bring this much attention to yourself if you were afraid of getting shut down?

The Mango, before you include a very educated response as you did it would be great to look at the obvious first.

(I love this topic!) Keep it up CTRP team! I'm still excited! :)

zeekpunk - May 7, 2005 07:24 AM (GMT)
we all constructivly criticize some and thats a good thing, we really try to test our skills to the max when working on CTRP stuff because well, its chrono trigger!!

schools almost out for the summer for everyone, I hear some whip cracking in the future

Crabsmasher - May 7, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
Rpg's take a long time, even when in 2D so dont rush these guys we want this to be a true remake of CT. We want it to be good!

GalaxyFalcon - May 7, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
Look at all the people it takes to make a game now days.
Look how many Team members there are!

DarkEternal - May 8, 2005 07:56 AM (GMT)
Well, SE could shut it down, but not on the basis of how much content they release rather than the type of content they release.

propagator4 - May 8, 2005 06:41 PM (GMT)
You're focusing on that too much recently. It's been put to rest.
