Hmm... Sounds alot like Shadow from FF6 ;)

Shadow has already been done by both Sega (Sonic Adventure 2 and Virtua Fighter 2) and SE (Final Fantasy 6).

Sonic Adventure 2: Shadow (US)/Ashura (JP; means "demon" or, more correctly, "fighting demon")
Virtua Fighter 2: Kage-maru (means "shadow man" when roughly translated from Japanese)
Final Fantasy 6: Shadow (the US just translated it from Japanese; it is Kage in Japan)

I think if the Team is gonna add a new character in to the game, he or she should be from 1999 AD. Notice how every time period in the game except for that one gives you a character who joins your party.

65,000,000 BC--Ayla
12,000 BC--Magus
600 AD--Frog
1000 AD--Crono, Marle, and Lucca
1999 AD--None
2300 AD--Robo

(BTW, the End of Time doesn't count as a time period. :P )


I read a fanfic somewhere that included a scientist from 1999 AD as part of Crono's party. A character from that time period deserves to be in the game, to help fend off the Apocalypse if nothing else. :D

But keep coming the extras ideas, those will come handy at a later state ;).

I like the idea of adding in a character or two that would be optional, but I dont think that is a good way to go about it. I say if possible, pull Serge in there, a tie to CC would be kick ass. Even if it is just something like you see him run by or do something in the background, just the tie in would be cool.

Maybe you could make certain flashbacks a bit more interactive by allowing character control. What jumps to mind is Frog's flashback where Cyrus is fighting that giant Toad King monster. Instead of making it a scene, you could make it a short level where Cyrus and Glen are the only ones in the party. Cyrus could have a couple of techs, and maybe the two of them could have a double tech. Just a thought.

:lol: Well, we could put TheBrain into the game as a character...in fact, the Team could put their avatars into the different time eras instead of having them grouped together in a new Developer's Ending. They could be hidden as little "Easter Eggs" in various secret places throughout time to reward players who like to explore. It would also help encourage players to check areas of the game that normally wouldn't be visited very much (such as 12,00 BC after the fall of Zeal, etc).

We're already going to have new side quests that will probably fall into the unvisited eras. I personally do not like AT ALL the idea of a new character (especially "Shadow" WTF?). As for easter eggs, like we said in the interview with the compendium, expect buttloads of them, and we mean ridiculous amounts. Stuff like hidden pictures, tiny details for observant players, etc. For example, you'll be able to see on barrels in 1000 AD "CTRP WINE" or something similar. Then travel back to 600 AD, look around, and you'll see those same barrels, but they will look newer! So the wine in 1000 is the wine you saw in 600. Little funny things like that, all to enhance the game world.

Awesome! I can't wait to see them, 'cuz I LOVE Easter Eggs! :wub:
