Title: Behind the Chrono Series
Description: Science Involved?
Negus - March 6, 2005 10:39 AM (GMT)
To me, it seems that when the game is stripped away, and all you have left is the skeleton of the story, for example, the foundation of interdimentional and time travel, Chrono Trigger seems, in a sense to be a creative expression of the unknown, a large problem of Science and complex abstract mathematics. There is so much more to this series than merely being video games... Like a unique, fictional history to creatively explain our world intertwined with complex Science and abstract Mathematics which touches the foundations of interdimentional and time travel. What do you guys think?
Duranix - March 6, 2005 11:13 AM (GMT)
you are right.
my theories on time and space etc are here:
http://invisionfree.com/forums/Spectral_Wa...=785&st=0lasthttp://www.driverheaven.net/showthread.php?t=69855and for this one, go to page 5 where i start BS:
http://www.hlfallout.net/forums/index.php?...105#entry615606those are my theories. they touch on real life issues in science, and on CT issues, like time travel and parallel universes.
Negus - March 6, 2005 11:54 AM (GMT)
Dude, those theories are awesome. And not too hard to follow, either. Heheh. Glad someone agrees with me. I thought you guys would all think I'm nuts...well, maybe I am anyway :P

if anyone wants to take a look at ct theories misconceptions etc take a look at this site

Negus - March 6, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
It's really almost scary just how much there is behind this. You wouldn't suspect it of a video game.
WolfPack - March 7, 2005 03:02 AM (GMT)
Its amazing how many things in life are this complex.
(BTW, Yo Duranix!)
GmMontex03 - March 7, 2005 03:17 AM (GMT)
I know, its just a game, but i've shown it to some of my teachers who were teaching science, and they said stuff about it.
IcicleM - March 7, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)
Yeah, there are some really incredible movies and games out there, that express the thoughts of time and space, really wonderfully. Some older movies kinda screwed it up, but Chrono Trigger is just... interesting to look at, and feel. I would reccomend going to
John Titor.com and looking at that guy's stuff. Some of it might freak you out, and some of it, you may or may not believe, but the time travel part in itself is interesting to take in.
GmMontex03 - March 7, 2005 03:45 AM (GMT)
There is probibly a reality where everything will work with time travel, but i don't think its ours. Read what i typed in the other topic, you should get a good view out of it about what i'm talking about.
Duranix - March 7, 2005 04:38 AM (GMT)
hey wolfpack!
I wonder if square originally intended for the game to be this crazy and picked apart :P
can someone throw my theories at their science teacher?
Stoney - March 7, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I did. My science teacher was struck physically in the head by how meaningful they were. Later on he told me, "Ow! That hurt!"
Duranix - March 7, 2005 06:09 AM (GMT)
Negus - March 7, 2005 06:15 AM (GMT)
That John Titor guy is...whacked.
Note: Check the link in Icicle's last post to see what I'm refferring to.
GalaxyFalcon - March 7, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
well one time i came accross some guy who said chron trigger was inspired by god. It was biblical, and that chrono was jesus, mary was male, magus was statan, etc. they guy actually had some kinda of occult faction centered around his belifs. lol.
Negus - March 7, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
I do believe that in a lot of Square's games, spirituality is given some form of representation and has an impact, especially mythology, but to say that Chrono Trigger is based on the Bible is just insane.
jimbowick - March 8, 2005 12:28 AM (GMT)
Considering it was created by as Japanese "artisan" its likely
that there are alot of Japanese and oriental mythology and spirituality
references in there.
While were on the subject of wacked out ideas. I have a theory about the sub-conscious.
The sub-conscious is the part of your brain that works without you knowing it right?
Your heart beats, your eye see's, your kidneys filter blood. But when you dream, you access your sub-conscious. Now stay with me here, but i think that
the sub-conscious may be each persons connection to humanity. Everyone is linked by their sub-conscious. Thats why when we dream we see things that we've never seen before. If only someone could find a way to "consciously" access that part of their brains, the world would bea different place.
GmMontex03 - March 8, 2005 06:02 AM (GMT)
Like Jim said, it is alot of japanese and asian mythology, and It isn't even remotly relates to the bible.
Negus - March 8, 2005 08:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it being Biblical is just absurd, but there is a lot more to Chrono Trigger than just a game. I think we can all agree on that.
Marcel - March 8, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
He said Magus was satan? Poor sod...
Sir_Crono531 - March 8, 2005 10:08 PM (GMT)
About the John Titor thing. I think that's awesome!!!!.
WolfPack - March 9, 2005 07:04 AM (GMT)
lol, if I remember right, the guy also said that the Masamune was the cross. lol. And Toma the Prodigal son. :o
GmMontex03 - March 9, 2005 07:37 AM (GMT)
It still doesn't make sence, it would have been way out of context from what the bible had said and intended.
jimbowick - March 9, 2005 12:18 PM (GMT)
Lol i would question why a Japanese production company would do so much work to create a metaphorical christian morals tale.
I've always loved Japanese mythology, so much more interesting then
a vengeful god who hate all other religions.
I much prefer the idea of two heavenly beings who are so powerful they create another all powerful being to rule over the heaven and hell. Its nice...
Negus - March 9, 2005 11:02 PM (GMT)
To each his own, man. Got the right to believe whatever you want. That is a good point though; Why would a Japanese producer connect something to a Western religion?
GmMontex03 - March 10, 2005 04:31 AM (GMT)
Well more like mid-eastern religion, since thats where it is orriginated from, but your right, why would they. normally, most of the games you see from a certain region are made for there culture, or are based on beliefs of that region.
IcicleM - March 10, 2005 04:39 AM (GMT)
There's no way that the Masamune was the cross for these reasons:
The Masamune (since the beginning of it's exsistence, even when Frog had it in his possession) made people do horrible things, only for the reason that Masa and Mune made all the hatred and anger of a person, that they were holding in, reveal itself. With that blade, it killed people, because all anger, hatred, jealousy, whatever it may have been, killed people. The blade wasn't evil, it was the subconscious thoughts of an individual that were evil. Glenn had such strong anger towards Magus, that when he gained the blade, the one thing he wanted to do was kill him once and for all, for all the horrible things he had done. The player thought it was just revenge, but Square had bigger ideas for the blade. They claimed that it was the blade that took Glenn's anger and multiplied it. People thought that blade was the only thing that was able to kill Magus because it brought out all of the user's anger. When Masa and Mune finally realized what they had done, they created the Mastermune, which was a gentler weapon.

And eventhough Jesus and Crono have some incommon, Jesus rose from the dead in 3 days of being crusified and he did it on his own power to save the world from sin. Crono did save the world, but he didnt exactly rise from his grave, and it wasn't(could be but probibly not) 3 days. He didn't save us from sin like Jesus did, just saved the world. When he was revived, he did it with the help of his friends who got his clone and exchanged it with his real body. Chrono never died, he was in suspended animation. Jesus died on the cross, was barried, and rose 3 days later and didn't need anyhelp from anyone to do it(well, except the death part ofcourse).
Negus - March 10, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
And of course, Magus cannot be Satan, seen? Magus was a villain, yes, but Satan is of pure evil and destruction, while even in his later state, Magus wasn't completely evil.
GmMontex03 - March 10, 2005 08:29 AM (GMT)
Your right, Lavos would be more the type, but thats still very far off from what Satin is.
WolfPack - March 11, 2005 01:48 AM (GMT)
Lol. No kidding. I wish i had the link to that site still. It would be fun to poke at it.

What about lucid dreams? A person who is dreaming can consciously realize that they are asleep, and are thus capable of altering what goes on around them in the dream.
As for only seeing things we've never seen before...I disagree. A large part of most dreams are created from recent memories in the dreamer's mind. For example, I once played Tetris for 5 hours straight and later had dreams of colored blocks falling through space, connecting in horizontal rows. :D
And once, I had a dream that included the Chrono Trigger cast. Shame I can't remember it that well, though...I remember waking up and thinking, "Boy, that would be a really great idea for a new game!" But then I went to eat breakfast, and forgot all about it. :P

I have had crazy dreams. I've never been in a fire before, and one day when i was a kid i was in a dream with my house on fire. Later i had a dream avout what appeared to be the end of the world, but it was like a movie where i watched a desaster of a volcano, but then i was in a motor home going somewhere else afterwords. I have crazy dreams snd some of them have actually come true, and sometimes i dont even think about what im saying, and everything i say somehow becomes reality, but its always odd events. i said domething to someone a few months ago about my life, and if anyone wants the list i typed ill send it to you, pm me for it.
Negus - March 11, 2005 08:19 AM (GMT)
There is more to this world than we realize. We are not prophets, but there are things happening in this world. Things we cannot understand, seen? Dreams are a passage to a past that never happened, a present that isn't the present, and a future that will never come. I and I have had such dreams or things similar. 'Tis dread, man. Truly dread...
GmMontex03 - March 11, 2005 08:32 AM (GMT)
I should correct what i said...heres what i sent someone a few months ago.
i don't, i feel it out when it happens, but now i am starting to doubt myself and who i was
i am stubborn, but i am not
i know how to fix things when i look at the object, but it seams impossible most of the time
i don't know what is happening today, but i know what is happening tomorrow
i don't know what is happening tomorrow, but i can see everything that will go wrong today
i can put a puzzle togeather and yet not know the difference between the corner pieces the sides and the inside
a flower blooms in the fall and falls apart in the spring
we are formed not of what we think our selfs to be, we are who others interpret us to be
you are not you, you are what others think of you as, yet the same goes for them
viruses will enter my computer at will and screw up my state of mind, like stupis trogens are now
my anti virus software just poped up a few viruses were found, now i won't be able to help anyone out tonight
my train of thought is gone

Really? <_< (brain gets a short circuit from too much words)
