See my avartar! I don't know how to upload pictures into forum replies. Anyone knows how to?

Celera - January 18, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Looks nice. You upload pictures into a post by first uploading them to an image hosting server (make sure that they allow you to remote link). Then just copy the URL,
hit the image tag, and paste the link. ^^

Thanks Celera

Done the movement now!!

I'm liking this program... One question though, is there way to show a grid? It would be much better...

And oh ya, that sprite kicks ass.

BrownMan - January 18, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
good job!

Celera - January 18, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
Are you doing this sprite as part of an RPG project, or just for the heck of it? ^^

*Can't... stop... staring... at... Chuckle's... Hypno... Toad...* O____O

Shiryuu - January 18, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
Thanks!

Heh, still figuring out this program. There isn't a detail tutorial on it though.

Ya, this is one of the character in my story. Her name is Windy.

I will post more details soon!

THE HYPNOTOAD! I love that thing... Meh, I'm just doing some grounds and stuff, trying to do trees, just following the basic tutorials.

Celera - January 18, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
Trees and stuff are hard... I still have trouble with them. I use Adobe Photoshop for most of my pixel art, since it's it gives me lots of colors to use.

^__^ Everybody loves Hypnotoad!

Well, I ate dinner, and started over.

Ah! Good job! The bigger one looks much more original. ^^

I've got an excersize for you. ^^ This is a sprite base. See if you can place the features of that sprite onto the base, and color it. It's great practice. I made sure that it isn't indexed, so you should be able to open it in any program. I can upload it as a different type of file if you need.

LOL--I must have posted just as you posted your revision. Good job! The new one looks really good. ^___^

Background had some error when upload. Pixels aren't ruin though.

Hmmmm... Not bad. ^___^ I like the job you did on the boots. Reminds me a little of Earthbound. ^___^ Here are some tips on making the hair on a sprite similar to FF6, since that seems to be a style you like. ^___^ Anyway, you draw it up and away from the head, just like if you were drawing a normal picture. Usually, the hairline divides the head in 2, like this:

Then, working from the hairline, you draw the hair, like this:

It takes some getting used to, but once you learn to balance the hair with the shape of the face, it really makes your sprites look nice. The eyes are usually low on the face, and there's rarely a mouth or nose. The same principle is usually applied to bigger sprites as well. ^^

you know, ive always want to ask this but never had the chance to, so here goes:
How the hell do you people make sprites?! Do you need to use a program or something?

Chuckles - January 20, 2005 04:18 AM (GMT)
Use Tile Studio! It's fun! It's free!

Sir_Crono531 - January 20, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)

Shiryuu - January 20, 2005 06:01 AM (GMT)
Glad you enjoy it Chuckles!

Soul Eater - January 20, 2005 08:03 AM (GMT)
I always find it hard to do movement animation for pixels and also for battle screens... TT_TT

Knives101 - January 20, 2005 08:44 AM (GMT)
 I do like the revised one better.
Where can you get tile studio?
