Bitter Milton - January 15, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
5 times. :D

Sir_Crono531 - January 15, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
me...well..no times lol, i havent really found the time to play it as much as i did before which sucks

Wiesty - January 15, 2005 03:07 AM (GMT)
i have a life

WolfPack - January 15, 2005 03:58 AM (GMT)
So do we, we just have more time, or less of a live than you. lol.

4 times :P

stingrayiii - January 15, 2005 07:28 AM (GMT)
with the new game +, I can beat it like 5 times in one day, if you go striaght to lavos

WolfPack - January 15, 2005 11:00 PM (GMT)
Well, ya. But thats cheap. To really beat it, you need to play it through.

Bitter Milton - January 16, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah, i meant all the way through. Besides, it was in the summer when all i did was swim.

Alezunde - January 27, 2005 04:16 PM (GMT)
It's true - this game is awesome.
I lost track of how many times I've played all the way through it...
Although I don't think I've beaten it multiple times per a week.

-Alezunde

WolfPack - January 29, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
Well in the summer, i'm stuck inside all day (blah) and i haven't gotten a new game in like 3 years (last one i got was like...RA2) So i replay alot of games. I never seem to get tired of CT.

GmMontex03 - February 5, 2005 08:19 AM (GMT)
Well, after beating it the first time in 3 days, i started a new game plus and beat it enough to get all 16 endings(yes, there are 16 different endings!) with in one day(24 hour period)!

4 endings change slightly depending on who you have in your party, if you revived Crono, and/or if you killed or kept Magus.

11 endings can only be found if you beat the game in new game plus.
1 of those 11 endings is found in a unique way.

1 ending is one that we all have probibly seen the first or second time battling Lavos (and is the easiest to get. Just loose).

Of course i didnt restart everytime, but the waiting time and beating Lavos and the final end credits took the longest amount of time.

Beating Chrono Trigger that often in such a short time period is a feat in itself, definitely, but what about beating both it AND Chrono Cross? I've done marathon sessions where I finished both games, one after the other, and sometimes with Radical Dreamers thrown in for the heck of it.

'Course, I haven't been able to do so 5 times in one week...so you guys still have me beat there. ;)

Tell me...in order to beat CT that often, are you allowed to rest periodically for eating, sleeping, and bathing? Or do you have to play nonstop, with wide, bloodshot eyes fixed upon the TV screen, a caffeinated beverage in one hand and a game controller in the other?

Maybe you guys should hold a contest. "Beat CT 10 times in one week without using New Game +, and win a T-shirt!" Or something like that. :)

GmMontex03 - February 7, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
sure i could do it, but i would have to miss out on a whole bunch of work to do it
i did the other times when i was at home, no work or school for a few days

Dark Hat - February 7, 2005 02:33 AM (GMT)
Considering I've beaten the game about 15 times, I'm taking a break.

GmMontex03 - February 8, 2005 02:50 AM (GMT)
Its not just thagt i beat those times, they were just in that period of time. I have beat both several other times. It never get tiring, except fot the wait time, but still both are exciting.

Duranix - February 8, 2005 05:42 AM (GMT)
45 times in one week (gameshark)

GmMontex03 - February 8, 2005 06:35 AM (GMT)
You must be frickn kidding me...YOU CHEAT! I DIDNT CHEAT, i just used new game plus and i know 99% of the entire game. You sicken me. Try to play games with out codes a few times first, then ust them after words, but if i ran a contest or tried for a record, the record would be without cheats or codes.

But you know, when i was young, it was always fun to mess arround with the codes and see what type of messup adventures you could have or see how fast you could get through a level or one shot one kill(or even 10 kills). They are fun for that reason.

Duranix - February 8, 2005 08:20 AM (GMT)
lol

i finished it without cheats for the first few times round. that was a few years ago. now that i know the entire game, i cheat.

GmMontex03 - February 9, 2005 02:45 AM (GMT)
Haha, nice. As long as you don't set any record cheating the whole way, unless it includes cheating.

NuNuNuNuNuNuNu - February 24, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
Doesn't it make you sad to know that no game will ever be better than Chrono Trigger. It is absolutely impeccable.

Lucid - February 24, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
Chrono Trigger is a great game. Maybe even my favorite. But never say that there won't be a game better than it. In fact, when Half-Life 2 came out, I ranked it higher on my personal list of favorites. When Resident Evil 4 came out, that took the top spot. Of course time has a way of re-sorting your favorites. Half-Life 2 no longer ranks above CT for me. But really, Resident Evil 4 is 20 hours of FUN. When I play Chrono Trigger I get bored at parts. Maybe it's because I know the game inside and out (for the most part). It's not a challenge at all anymore. I don't think I even die once when I start a new game. That kind of kills the feeling of a game.

GmMontex03 - February 24, 2005 06:00 AM (GMT)
I never die anymore, unless i am trying to beat lavos at a lower level to make it more challenging

IcicleM - February 24, 2005 06:47 AM (GMT)
I beat Chrono Trigger, all the way through, within about 2-3 hours, on my computer, using ZSNES. That's beating it through, completely, all side-quests done, Crono saved, etc. blahdiblahdiblah. At a certain point (before fighting Magus for the second time) I saved the game in all three slots. The first slot, I would say "No, I don't want to fight you, Magus" and would continue the story from there. In the second slot, I fought Magus, and continued the story from there. I would play both of those, until I beat it, and got the 1st ending, and witnessed the changes. Then, I would play my third game, and save over the first two slots, so I could beat the game over and over, and getting each different ending. It takes a LONG time, but it's worth it. ^_^ Beating the Black Omen in a certain time period also determines which ending you get. It's all there the Brady Games Strategy guide, for the game, with pictures of the endings, and everything. ^_^

GmMontex03 - February 24, 2005 06:55 AM (GMT)
But its easy to do that on ZSNES, you can speed up the game, not to mention when you do that in new game plus. Our little thing was beat it soo many times in a week not using game genie or game shark or anything like that and not using any speed up accesory, and you cannt beat it in new game plus. Just the normal game on SNES or PS1(or ZSNES without any speeding up or codes and stuff).

IcicleM - February 24, 2005 08:11 AM (GMT)
Oh, on SNES, I beat it once, in a day, then I was like "Ok, I feel accomplished, now I'm gonna go do something else" haha

man i love this game...

Ok...here's a freaking medal? o_O

GmMontex03 - February 24, 2005 02:13 PM (GMT)
If you play it streight for a week, it is possible to beat it the amount of times we wanted to, but you would have to use the rest room and eat at the same time.

Magus5311 - February 27, 2005 01:08 AM (GMT)
Ehh, 6 times in a week is the most I've done, of course no cheating...

jimbowick - February 27, 2005 07:59 AM (GMT)
Seriously, if you actually liked the game you'd realise that it becomes less
and less meaningful the more times you play it. Im only onto the second time (i finished last time about 5 years ago) and im already sorta sayin... well i havent got all the endings but if prefer to leave it at that, happy in the knowledge that i passed a really good game.

GmMontex03 - February 27, 2005 08:05 AM (GMT)
Its not just beating it, sometimes you notice stuff that you didn't see before, but you don't always play it over and over again in a week. You play it a few times, then wait a few months or a year and play it again.

jimbowick - February 27, 2005 09:00 AM (GMT)
Yeah thats fair enough, i havent found out anything new really though. Obviously i playing it alot better then the first time though...

How would you do that? By playing the game in the bathroom, and having a mini-fridge installed next to the toilet? :P

Random family member: (pounding on bathroom door) "Open up! I need to get in there!"

Me: "Not now! I'm playing Chrono Trigger!"

GmMontex03 - February 28, 2005 08:54 AM (GMT)
HAHAHAHAHAHHA...I'm laughing my head off...

Actually, you need to take breaks every once in a while. You take 10 minutes to eat and use the bathroom when its meal time, then you only use the bathroom if its an emergancy. Other than that, I hope you nhad a good night sleep before you atarted, because you are going to need it!(well, you could sleep half way through the week, but whose to say you might just make it without going crazy)

jimbowick - February 28, 2005 10:56 AM (GMT)
Homework man, gotta take a few minutes here or there to plaguerise something from the net or im SPAMed for assesments... damn.. why can there be a chrono trigger subject, i might just get a C

GmMontex03 - February 28, 2005 04:25 PM (GMT)
Haha, well, you would have to do this durring summer vacation.

jimbowick - March 1, 2005 08:19 AM (GMT)
Summer Vacation!! I only have to wait another 9 months then.

GmMontex03 - March 1, 2005 03:10 PM (GMT)
9 months? summer vacation is normaly june to august, isn't it?

Sir_Crono531 - March 1, 2005 08:56 PM (GMT)
Depends what part of the world you are in. In Australia, their summer vacation is from December - February, and im sure he's saying in another 9 months it'll be summer vacation.....but i dun know lol.

GmMontex03 - March 2, 2005 03:02 AM (GMT)
Oh yea, where are you? That makes sense.

Stoney - March 2, 2005 04:21 AM (GMT)
You guys are neglecting one important detail: Snow Days! With the added benefit of these unexpected breaks from school, you can start your marathon playing much earlier in the year than usual! Of course, the downside is that you never know when they're gonna happen...so, I suggest utilizing some Ancient Tribal Dances to control the weather and bring on those blizzards. :D

(P.S.: Hey, Sir Crono--you said you live in New Jersey, right? How are you enjoying the snowstorms up there lately? )

(P.P.S.: Sleep, GmMontex03? HA! Sleep is for the coffee-deprived. Me no need no stinkin' sleep!)
