BladeValant546 - November 24, 2004 03:53 AM (GMT)
Okay dont take this as spam. But i always wanted Chrono Trigger in 3-d. Please dont let this project die.

Kenshin_II - November 24, 2004 05:00 AM (GMT)
I'm sure the dont plan on letting it die, however if they do get the C&D letter from SE theres not much they can do but let it die... I guess we'll just need to keep our fingers crossed.

TheBrain - November 24, 2004 08:25 PM (GMT)
And patience :)

"If you can imagine it you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it." - William Arthur Ward

In other words BladeValant546 it might be better to be more optimistic mate ;) . I mean really I can understand your looking forward to a 3D version of Chrono Trigger man, but a little positivity never hurt.

Cheers,

VAsh

Don't you think that it is a bit risky since Chrono Ressurection had been stopped by SquareEnix? I hope that this project won't be cut at the extremely end like them, good luck! :)

TheBrain - December 5, 2004 03:40 PM (GMT)
Our project is older... and ofcourse it's a risk, but unless we receive a C&D we won't stop.

silverkorn - December 5, 2004 05:40 PM (GMT)
what about asking them before all, like this you will be sure of the succed or the failure... no?

WolfPack - December 5, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
I take it english wasn't your first laungue.

Tasuj - December 23, 2004 05:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I don't wanna see this project die either. Today I woke up remebering the good old times of Chrono Trigger and beating the game from start to end at least 20 times. So I decided to download a wallpaper for my desktop of Chrono Tigger. I went to Google images search and typed Chrono Trigger. A few sites in I saw something about This Chrono Trigger Project. Any ways that made my day, I think it would be great to see Chrono Trigger in full 3D. The project seems hard because there is so much to remake... but I think they can do it!

SSJoseph - December 23, 2004 07:32 PM (GMT)
I don't think it'll die.
And if square stops them, then they will probly go underground and do it.
And release it via KaZaA, Supernova.....err (shut up joe)

If this project dies ...I will sue SE for emotional damage!...I am ver ysensitive, I could have a stroke if Se did that ..snifff..sniff..
But they won't do it! I won't allow it...i will tie myself to a tree if I have to

They should remember that WE (the fans) are the ones who determine if they're next games are good or not, if they stop this project they will lose a lot of followers , and besides... it's not the CTRP's fault that SE hasn't made a CT in 3-d , If the wanna stop you guys they should at least start a project like this one...or i'll kick their arses so hard that they'll kiss the moons! ...

DAmn it now I'm mad...need to hurt some people see ya later fellas

lol... well i can agree with you that we control how the games end up. we are the ones who buy and play their games... the last SE game i bought was umm*thinks* CT! lol

I remember when CC was going to be coming out, and when it did it was such a let down, so i borrowed a friends and what can i say, it sucked(IMO)

I very doubtfully think that SE will go through the trouble of shutting down CTRP, as what has been stated earlier it would cost them and really wouldnt achive anything for them. And the fact that CTRP are planning to distribute it freely among the community, for no profit, no console ports, even donations... I have read Brain refusing money that people have litterally thrown at their feet.

ok im done  :P

It's amazing how the two letters "C" and "D", and the ampersam (spelling?) seem to loom over this whole forum, creating a shadow of fear that encompasses everything. Everyone's always just talking about how they hope there's not a C & D headed this way. We need to have a Plan B just in case CT remake gets that dreaded message from Enix. (is there a plan?)

Darktiminator - January 13, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
Hey, I wonder if Square enix are just waiting for someone to make the right remake like they are looking for a specific style and will cancel all remakes that don't match up to their standards.

I mean, it makes sense that they closed down the ressurection project at the last moment if that's the case.

Just a hopeful thought

The Mango - January 13, 2005 07:32 AM (GMT)
The team is building your hopes up, then they plan on never releasing it.

Sorry man, I just had to leak the info. They're bored, and just want to kill it before release so they can play it themselves and make up a story that SE shut them down.

I don't think that's true.. if it was, why would they have done all of this work to put up a website for it? Why couldn't they just keep it a secret to themselves?

Stoney - January 26, 2005 12:02 AM (GMT)
Why don't you guys try negotiating with Square? Maybe if you sold the game and let them have some of the profit, they'd let you continue...

After all, it happened with Counterstrike, didn't it?

celestria - January 27, 2005 10:12 AM (GMT)
if you ask me these guys shoudlent release any info about what thier doing untill the release it lol

Stoney - January 27, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
Actually, I don't think that's a good idea. There's no guarantee that they wouldn't get their clothing sued off them if they did that---Squenix would know who was responsible for leaking the game and would enact swift, righteous justice with their lightning bolts of wrath. :P

miloexe4 - February 2, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
 :ph43r: well im new here( naa seriously?) but.... i think that the negociating idea isn't that bad they know that it will be sold as hot bun (yeah that)
so just give it a try it won't kill u

see ya!!!

Unfortunatly (or fortunatly?) the Japanese company mentality doesn't work like that, usually it's "My way, or highway!".

Just look at Nintendo, they've been for years using the "We aren't listening! :P Nah! Nah!" tactics, and has been working until recently.

I agree!

If anything, it'll make people want to buy the original. I mean seriously, no matter how good this mod gets, it'll never REPLACE the original (no offense to the godly modly team) I'm just saying, you can revitalize it, present it in a new form, but nothing can replace the classic 2d rpg that we all know and love!

And aside from that, anyone who has playstation can buy ct AND ffIV for just $20! And the additional cutscense make it worthwhile!

Unfortuanatley, I have a bad feeling that this game will have even worse load times than the ps version of the original! Oh well, some sacrifices must be made to serve the greater good!

SE would be fools to abolish this mod!

No argument here. :)

I've heard that 'Big N' still refuses to admit that online games are a nifty idea, and they're not going to include a modem with their next system, code-named 'Revolution'. What you're saying makes sense, Brain.

It seems like a shame, though. If only you guys could negotiate through Square's North American or European branches...convince THEM the mod is a good idea, and maybe they'll convince the Japanese for you, y'know?

MrPlow - February 7, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
hmm imagine that you will release it, then square will force you to derelease it (hmm i'm german, so i don't know every word ;) ), but thousands of people downloaded it already! and then other sites will put them on their download area!
the ones who know about "bid for power" (the DBZ-mod for quake 3 arena) also know that the developers were forced by toei studios to change the characters and take the dbz version away from their download area, but i know a lot of other sites who continued the downloading of the "illegal" version... maybe this will happen to CTRP, too....

de plow ("de" is similar to "the" in english, it also is a short form for "der" in german ^^)

ctrp is not for free? o.OOOOOOOO hmm that's strange... when they want money for the mod then square will sue them down to the last penny! it has to be free! i wish i could do something for the project... but i'm not good in every part of the project (design, code etc)...

devilry - February 8, 2005 07:57 PM (GMT)
CTRP is free...not making any money out of this at all.

Stoney - February 9, 2005 02:13 AM (GMT)
But if it WASN'T free, how much do you guys think it would cost? And which members of the Team would get the biggest cuts of the profit? :P
