Title: Meet The Man (Update)

TheBrain - October 8, 2003 09:50 PM (GMT)
Here's Johnny!
Sorry for the slow updates, most of us now have again busy lifes because of Univ. and School work, but i promise we will try to release a demo before Christmas. We can't say in what part and what's in the demo right now, we still have a lot of work. Meanwhile the logical step is to jump to UT2k4 when it's released, so expect the demo to be for UT2k4.

Anyway, back to what i've started, what do you people think about Johnny?

Right now it may be missing some detail, but few, also missing are its animations and optimizations.

Nice looks just like the one in da game even wit out bumpmapping and stuff but hey im only in HS

I Have to say, I find that the model you're making have too many polygons, when you put them together in the same room they may lag...

But other than that it's a really nice model. I've been working on a lucca and have yet to finish it, but it seems that it will have far less polygons then the other models you're making. But anyways, just felt like boasting my concerns.

Hey nice work!

Yeah awsome stuff ya got there :D

*PiMP* - October 11, 2003 09:19 PM (GMT)
Very cool there! :ph43r:

pills116 - October 12, 2003 07:26 PM (GMT)
I like it!

But, i agree, you may need to use less polygons.
You can just see how it comes out (if it lags or not) and fix it if you need to.

Agraba - October 12, 2003 07:58 PM (GMT)
Actually the charcters in UT2K3 have about 9000 polys so brains
charcter has rather few polygons compared to them but the fact
remains that he may be optimised and he probably will later on.
But for now i think he is rather well done.

TheBrain - October 13, 2003 12:05 AM (GMT)
the characters in UT usually have 3000, not 9000. ;) but we'll try to optimise more in the future, all without loosing detail, so if you see johnny like this it will look really like this in the end. That's why they are called optimisations and not polygon choping :)

Sweet looking.

Jack - October 19, 2003 05:17 PM (GMT)
Whoa, Narf is here. Welcome, this time Brain is the Fourm Mastah ;)

If you think you can help us in any way, we always need it :)

I've just seen the Chrono Trigger OVA, and in comparison to the Jhonny in the OVA , the mufflers in your model are a bit big.

Chosker - March 18, 2004 07:02 PM (GMT)
looks good so far
I just think that, regarding the polycount, it could have more detail specially in the hands

WolfPack - March 20, 2004 08:43 PM (GMT)
Hey looks good. About the hands, gotta lower the poly count somewhere, they seem to be the best place to lower at. But its all up to the team, they know what their doing.

GalaxyFalcon - March 23, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
I know they need help, i just wish there was someting we all could do, but 50%-75% of us dont have any skills they need. Which, sucks, but oh well. I think your all doing an excellent job, keep it up. Nice to see you here narf, looks like you got a Textering job ;)

WolfPack - March 27, 2004 10:55 PM (GMT)
Atleast we can offer moral support.
