Title: Favourite Site Theme
Description: Which of the site themes you like most.
TheBrain - August 20, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
Hello There!
Our site is back after a long, and totally understandable, period of time. :o
I hope that you all like what Rorae and me have been preparing all this time.
It was hard work, specially for Rorae who has been working non-stop until now.
With this in mind i would like to know what is the opinion on the themes and of the site structure.
What do/don't you like on them?
What do you think of the banner models? Any thoughts? Mind that those are the WIPs of the ingame models that will be used in the game. They really gave me some trouble specially when i was rendering, ofcourse nothing compared to the nasty little bugs of the site that were totally nasty, and with a lack of a better word, nasty.. Poor Rorae...
So, leave your vote and comments here to make him happy ;) (but be honest).

Uhmmmm... What themes. No just joking, I haven't had a chance to look at them all, but the site does look really nice. It sure does take a while to load though.
Knives - August 20, 2004 12:18 PM (GMT)
I personally like the future theme...but then again since I'm on the team I guess my opinion doesn't count :)
CTRP is BACK!

firestarterut - August 21, 2004 05:29 PM (GMT)
Am I the only one not seeing themes?
firestarterut - August 21, 2004 05:44 PM (GMT)
Wait forget it I had the site bookmarked so it led me back to the old site but I still can't see anything after the page loads. It just has a blue window.
firestarterut - August 21, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
Sorry for all the post but I finally found it. I was just wondering where you check out the other themes.
John - August 21, 2004 06:30 PM (GMT)
Click on the "<<" at the very top right to bring up the time dial.
Enjoy! : )

I like all the themes. But you guys, I'm having a small problem viewing the site. I see the themes but nothing else. The places where i expect text to be are just white boxes. And i'm pretty sure that i have Javascript and Flash Player 7. What's wrong?
Alezunde - August 21, 2004 07:21 PM (GMT)
It seems that a lot of people can't view the site properly.
Sometime I'll try to figure out what's wrong, and post a solution here. :P
On Topic:
Man... all of the themes are really awesome... so I don't think I'll vote. :P

My fave is the 2300 theme, i really like how the lower banner ended...
To everyone who is having problems with the site, may i ask which browsers and OS's are you using?
Ancient Guardian - August 22, 2004 03:08 AM (GMT)
Internet Explorer 6.0.2800
Windows XP Professional 2002 Edition w/ Service Pack 1
Bedryn - August 22, 2004 07:30 AM (GMT)
I'm likeing the 1999AD theme. The blimp and the scrolling news is a nice touch. Plus chicks dig it.

I'm using both Internet Explorer and Safari on Mac OS 10.3. I see virtually nothing.

Wow, wow, wow .........
I am amazed by Rorae and TheBrain's web creation ........ It is easily one of the best web sites I have ever seen and I've viewed heaps of them.........
The new web site truly is a feast for both the eyes and the ears, I really can not beleive it ............. It is wonderful ........
The layout is easy, never once did I find myself looking for anything :) ........
The graphics are beautiful work and are used to great effect without going overboard ........
The ability to choose differant themes really was a pleasure and like Alezunde I really find it hard to choose, I like each of them ......... But the 12000 BC (Dark Ages) theme wins it for me ........... I always loved the Kingdom of Zeal ...........
Cheers CTRP Team,
Vash

Hi everyone, hope you all like the new website.
Both Brain and myself worked hard to get this page up.
To anyone interested i'm going to point out some aspects of the page.
The server-side scripting and SQL support give it great flexibility providing easy updates in every section (even the blimp on the future theme  ).
The web page is loaded from the bottom up so small animations and fxs will load transparently throughout the session, or even multiple sessions if file caching is enabled.
The webpage is very heavy since it uses serverside scripting along with many flash animations and flash-to-java communication such as dinamic page resizes, etc. For this reason it may not be compatible with some browsers or browser configurations, but dont worry...
For anyone missing out :
an HTML only page will be available soon for users that are having compatibility problems or just want a relatively simple page with faster loading times.

I'm glad you got the site up, it looks great. The current template theme is pretty good. I don't know if you can but you should make the nav wheel look more like the C clock in the Chrono Trigger Logo.
TheBrain - August 22, 2004 11:35 PM (GMT)
Current template theme, the 1000AD?
You can change themes on the (<<) (Show/Hide) button on the top banner, then the Epoch gizmo pops up, you only have to select the theme...
EDIT: It should work with Mozilla and Netscape now.
Knives - August 23, 2004 12:06 PM (GMT)
It works fine on Safari for me.
GalaxyFalcon - August 23, 2004 04:21 PM (GMT)
I like Zeal, but it was a close call between it and 2300. The bottom 2300 banner was very cool. btw, what did u use to make the graphics? (Or are those in-games)
Bedryn - August 23, 2004 06:45 PM (GMT)
No offense but those seem too good to be in-game shots. Don't really look like it either.
Knives - August 23, 2004 07:25 PM (GMT)
They aren't final, but yeah, the in-game models really will look like something similar to that. Brain has a plug-in for MAX that renders objects exactly as they will appear in Unreal.
GalaxyFalcon - August 23, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
So the plugin allows him to post the picutres, similar to how they will look in game? Well no matter, those really do look cool. (btw, do we have to bu unreal 2004?)
Knives - August 24, 2004 12:06 PM (GMT)
Yep, CTRP requires Unreal Tournament 2004 to play.
WolfPack - August 24, 2004 10:50 PM (GMT)
Hey, thats Site loks like a killer!. I love the Zeal.

I have:
- Mac OSX 10.3.5, Safari 1.2.3 (v125.9), Java 1.4.2 Plug-in (Cocoa), and Shockwave Flash 7.0 r24. all of these are the latest versions.
To check to see what version of Mac OS X you have, click on the apple in the apple menu and select "About This Mac". For Safari, Click the Safari menu (within Safari) and select "About Safari". For both Java and Shockwave Flash, go to the Help menu within Safari and select "Installed Plug-Ins".
To get the latest versions of the software, click on the apple menu and select "Software Update". Then go to www.MacUpdate.com to get the latest Shockwave Flash.
Nothing wrong, not even as much as a text glitch. ;P
My favorite theme is the Present one, because the seagulls and fireworks are some of the first sights in Chrono Trigger.
GREAT SITE GUYS!!!
TheGreatJuja - August 25, 2004 02:43 PM (GMT)
I had to give a vote for the apocalypse. I like all of them, and that one's not necessarily my favorite, but it deserves at least one vote. I mean, the whole zepplin thing, displaying the information. It's so sad, 'cause it's talking about earthquake warnings and stuff, but it was actually their world coming to an end. Plus, it had the sad music just goes along with it so well.
I gotta hand it to you guys, your site is really impressive. Being able to choose themes from different eras and such, you guys must love Chrono Trigger as much as I do. Anyway, I could go into detail about cool features of the site, but I'm just gonna say it kicks ass overall.
Alezunde - August 25, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)
Of course we love this project as much as (or more than) you do. :)
Otherwise, this project wouldn't exist. ;)
We're glad you like our site!

Yes, I'm sure we all know a deep love for Chrono Trigger. I just wish I was good at some of the stuff you guys need to make the game, but unfortunately, I'm not. So, I can't really help, all I can do is tell you guys that you're doing a hell of a job.

I really love all the themes but my favorite time period in CT has always been the Dark Ages, hands down, and only because of Zeal. The music that plays when you're walking around the floating islands, Time Circuits, is by far one of the best songs in the entire game, with only World Revolution and Outskirts of Time coming close. But... I noticed you guys are using some weird... ear-piercing remix of Time Circuits, and I just had to file a complaint... what the heck is with that song? It destroys everything that made the original good. I have an upgraded but extremely similar version of the original Time Circuits on mp3, which I'd really like to give to the webmaster, because I'm still listening trying to find some redeeming qualities but it's just killing me.

If it was rearranged by you we would love to hear it...
PM one of the team members with the link for the file.
