Title: Blue Dragon is a piece of trash.
The Mango - August 30, 2007 07:35 AM (GMT)
I'm glad I work at a place where I get it for free, dream team my ass, the game is a piece of trash, and now I hope what little part of the dream team involved don't make another Chrono game, because they've apparently forgotten how to make a good RPG.
Just thought I'd let you know, I'm menstruating with rage.
BrownMan - August 30, 2007 03:36 PM (GMT)
well since you're menstruating with rage, you wouldn't care to elaborate on why its SPAM would you?
The Mango - August 31, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
The story is real cliche, the battle system gets really, really, REALLY tiring after an hour into the game, and although I usually don't criticise graphics on a game, and judge by gameplay, the graphics were a letdown for a game that was in development as long as it was on a muscle system like the 360, heh.
WolfPack - September 3, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
Damn, thats really too bad...

Actually, brethren, aside from what Mango said, everything I've heard about Blue Dragon is good

Yea except for the thing about the GAME SUCKING
TheBrain - September 8, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
I've read this too...
When I've seen the first images of the game I felt they didn't translated well Akira's designs to 3D ( unlike the last Dragon Quest that has done it well ).
Now that i read everywhere the story and the gameplay sucks I feel really disappointed of Mistwalker studios work, I really hope they don't pick the CT brand or that they learn with this previous mistakes taken with Blue Dragon.
And I doubt they learn, since most console RPGs still fall on the same pitfalls of old ancient times...
WolfPack - September 15, 2007 03:41 AM (GMT)
One pitfall coulda been avoided if they hadn't chosen xbox360.
The Mango - September 15, 2007 05:34 AM (GMT)
The console has nothing to do with it, and besides, ta the start of the development, it was the smartest idea. Why? The 360 had the biggest software (game) sales at the time, it would be stupid NOT to make it for the 360, money talks man.
propagator4 - September 23, 2007 01:27 AM (GMT)
Even without looking at software sales it makes sense. No one owned a PS3, and the 360 has a more impressive processor to work with than the Wii. Modern rpgs are almost expected to have amazing graphics at this point; it'd be easier to work that out on a 360 than a Wii.

Well, ya. I'll admit, in todays society everything demands graphics, but I'd rather see a return to the old ways of steller storyline first.
I think the Wii offers the best chance of that.

The glory days have faded fast, brethren...
I remember four years ago when my Dad was still with Nintendo, seen, and he said that games weren't what they used to be. I didn't understand what he meant...two years later, I realized he was right, seen?

Not that I'm trying to pick a fight, but how on earth would the Wii offer a better chance of focusing on the storyline of the game? That's completely up to the game developers; the only way the system could affect it is by building in limitations forcing the developers to spend more effort on the storyline. Wii does this to some extent with its weaker processor and poorer graphics, but makes up for that with all the gimmicks it could support.
The Mango - October 12, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
I think he means that most games today have taken a major blow in teh focus on the story, and more into the graphics, thus making the games ridiculously short because of all the work but into a High Definition Bloom that'll blind you (because it's realistic and all) just to take a 10 hour gameplay hit.
and I'm not knocking other consoles, hell I love my 360 on my HDTV, just defending Wolfpack's dumb statement for no reason, and plus he has my children in custody.
WolfPack - October 13, 2007 05:05 AM (GMT)
Yes, there is that, isn't there?
lol.
What I was saying was, if you build for a system with lower graphics (Not that the Wii's are that bad, but they obviously far short of ps2/3/xbox/360) then if you want your game to sell, you need to focus elsewhere, which in a RPG would naturally mean storyline.

The wii outdoes the ps2 by FAR, the ps2 was the weakest console in terms of power in the last generation, it's been stated that the wii's graphics are slightly better than that of the xbox.
Go back and look at ps2 games and compare them to gamecube/xbox titles, you'll laugh.
