Title: Join our Team!

TheBrain - October 11, 2003 02:23 PM (GMT)
Yup, we need urgently talented texturers ;) . But i'm afraid that is difficult to find avaiable ones... :(

TheBrain - August 10, 2003 05:51 PM (GMT)
Right now I need help in order to be able to finish this project.
I am trying to find talented 3d and 2d artists crazy about CT to work in this project. People that know unreal script, C or C++ are more than welcome also.
Right now the team is very small, we need your help :).
Animators, texturers and skin artists are also welcome.
People that know how to work in 3d max 5.1, Maya, Kaydara's Motion Builder, Adobe Photoshop or PaintShop Pro and/or UnrealEd/TES Construction Set.

ChronoTrigger - August 29, 2003 08:41 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, sorry i havent done anything yet. Just that i have to wait a little before i format my computer, becuase my computer if very slow right now, and i cant work on my 3ds max stuff right now. So as soon as i get it formatted, hopefully in the next couple days, i'll start to get busy right after on the weapons/crono. Sorry bout that :S...

TheBrain - August 29, 2003 05:36 PM (GMT)
No problem, i will add you to the team ;) .

Agraba - September 3, 2003 06:00 PM (GMT)
Hello, i have been looking for a good place to work on my 3D skills.
I have been 3D modelling for more than a year but i am usually used to
modelling highpoly objects but i would love to contribute to this project
and se what i could help out with.

I am going to gather som of my stuff and post them somewhere for you to take a look at.

TheBrain - September 4, 2003 05:08 AM (GMT)
I'll be waiting forward for your stuff  we need any help we can get.

Agraba - September 4, 2003 11:04 AM (GMT)
Well i have upploaded some renders of what i have done on my homepage.
You can go there and check it out.

TheBrain - September 4, 2003 04:05 PM (GMT)
Nice works! If you want we have a place for you! :)

Agraba - September 4, 2003 04:13 PM (GMT)

I was looking for a place to join to get some practise.
I would love to join.

jermerf - September 6, 2003 12:23 AM (GMT)
Hey,
I would like to join your team. I have a fair amount of experience in 3ds max 4. You can get to my site at http://www.geocities.com/mega3drpg/cinescreen.htm

I have some pictures of some stuff that I've made arranged from top to bottom in the order that i made them.

Apocalypse - September 6, 2003 09:10 PM (GMT)
Hmmmm... just stumbled upon your site, VERY interesting indeed... I had actually wanted to do something like that... when I got more skilled of course.

I am a Chrono Trigger addict... and Would like to help. Slight problem though, although I am a programmer, and have some (but not much) experience with making 2d and text-based games; I don't think I have enough skill at the moment to help you in a 3d game. I program in C++, and have worked with some other forms of code, but... I am more of a... beginner at the moment.

I AM working on a little 2d thing though, it's basically going to be like a mix of all the great Rpgs... mixed into one. Right now i'm goin' crazy looking for sprites and midis (which was actually, how I stumbled upon the site.)

If I learn how to use the tools needed for your project, you can expect me to join.

...although, if you need a midi or two; or some text-based stuff... I can help you with that at the moment. Anything else, is probably way above my skill <_<

Enzo_Belmont - September 6, 2003 10:17 PM (GMT)
i wanna join your team...

do you have a planner???

i could make textures...
or 3d models...
please contact me!!!

TheBrain - September 7, 2003 12:43 AM (GMT)
I am happy that you two want to join our team.
to Enzo:
Right now we don't need much a game planner because we are going to remake the original game, everything we are going to add is some mini-games and perhaps a few events or stuff.
If you are able to join our team as a texturer and a modeler we only need to know how's your work in both jobs, please show us something that you have done or if you don't have anything please say something that you would like to work on texturing or modeling to see what are you capable of, we're always looking for help on both.

to Apocalypse:

A person who knows C++ is also very welcome, you can be of some great help as Enzo but in scripting stuff in Unreal, or doing some tool. Most likely you only need to know the new functions that Unreal Script has because it is almost identicly to how C++ or other object oriented language works.
If you have DSL, you can look at some examples of UScript learning videos here: look for UT2003 Game Design Issue 4
If not, you can aslo see great examples here:
SEGA 500 Uscript

EDIT: Oh i jumped one post.
to jermerf, cool stuff. we are going to mainly work with low poly stuff though, from 100 to 10000, but most of them can't pass over 500. So, if you feel confortable working with low-poly and texturing and you want to help, welcome :).

Apocalypse - September 7, 2003 05:23 PM (GMT)
Actually, I have had some (but very limited) experience with object oriented code. It looks like you need graphics more than code at the moment however, so perhaps I can try and make something. I'm more experienced with sprites though... but I guess it wont hurt to try and make something else.

As for C++, I know source code the most. I'd like to see Unreal, so I can get a basic idea of what it is, and be able to judge if I can program for you with that. If you happen to have a link to a download of it available, i'll gladly take a look at it.

As for the moment, i'll try to see if I can make anything useful, such as enemies... or perhaps weapons. Perhaps the little blue imps and a... rainbow or something

ChronoTrigger - September 9, 2003 04:31 PM (GMT)
Hey guys, sorry i sort of dissappeared all of a sudden. But i got a lil busy, and i had to format my computer. Now that my computers formatted and i got 3ds max on it again. Im ready to do some modeling. I tried getting those pictures that Jack drew of all those swords but it doesnt seem to be on in the forum any more. So i'd appreciate if Jack can post those back up, so i can start modeling. Thanks B)

MinesSkylineR34 - September 11, 2003 01:44 AM (GMT)

Nice effects on your stuff, what do you think about a 2d texturing job?

MinesSkylineR34 - September 12, 2003 04:55 AM (GMT)
hm never tried that before either lol

Agraba - September 12, 2003 07:29 PM (GMT)
Do you know how to draw refrance pictures of characters?
Side and front character art of certain characters for expample.

ChronoTrigger - September 13, 2003 02:09 AM (GMT)
Hey guys, check the site out, updated it with new weapons.
http://members.shaw.ca/vic_c/index.htm

i just find pictures on the net

Apocalypse - September 13, 2003 05:30 PM (GMT)
Sorry I haven't checked in lately. School just started so.... yea... <_<

If you are wondering on my progress... well I hate to say it, but I have not had much luck with the 3d image software I have found. In fact, I didn't get much farther than making a sphere, that I realized I had no clue what I was doing. I was going to make one of those Blue imps, but didn't get much farther than it's head...

...Guess I just suck at making 3d stuff

As with my search for "unreal", all I find on it is a game called unreal. I have not (as of yet) found this language you speak of. As for my more recent "inventions"...
I made pong! :D (took like 10 minutes...).

As of yet, i'll stay uncertain as to whether or not i'll officially join your team because, quite simply; I do not know if I am capable of what this project asks for. If you happen to be able to offer some information on Unreal, it'd be appreciated. I really am having some trouble finding it. And i'm starting to wonder if it really is a programming language.

... mind the Script part of the name, "Unreal Script" is the name of the programming language of the Unreal Engine (the Unreal games).
www.masteringunreal.com has VTM's video lessons explaining the basics of programming in Unreal Script. I'll post some more sites after i recheck the links...

Emanuel - September 14, 2003 04:21 PM (GMT)
I'm really sorry for the lack of models guys im just too busy =( ill try to do them these days

Jack - September 18, 2003 01:28 AM (GMT)
Hey ChronoTrigger, I am going to redo allmost all the swords. I did a little reacearch and found out that all of chronos swords (becides a few of the 5 starting ones) are Katanas.
So im going to redraw almost all of em and put em up on the forum. Ill put em up when im done.

ChronoTrigger - September 18, 2003 11:06 PM (GMT)
No problem, cause i was going to redo the ones i already made myself as well. So, its all good :) Also im going to be creating things in a linear matter, like when crono reaches a point where he gets a new sword i'll make it then.
But for now im making Crono himself and hes going to take me a week or so. After modeling and rigging and all that...So yah....

Jack - September 20, 2003 05:22 AM (GMT)
Ok great, ill have em for you soon.

Oh and Chrono Trigger, PLEASE for the love of god make the characters as detaled as possable, but do say, Chrono in the style of Final Fanticy 10, realsitic but somewhat anime at the same time. We don't want supa anime chracters, ick..
Make him as detaled as possable, we might be making cutscenes with him so a high poly one may be needed. we can always adjsut him later :)

Bah, me do dun spelled bad... Me sleep now.

Hasaki - September 28, 2003 07:42 PM (GMT)
Ok... I'm experienced with Lightwave 7, but never worked with 3D Studio Max before... I can create outdoor environments (grassy fields, hills, etc), and have experience with modeling bodies and kinematics... I could probably do high polygon renders to be used for showing off (like banners, website ads, "cover art", cut scenes) and whatnot.

I'm also very skilled with Adobe Photoshop. However, I use 6.0. I'm not a big fan of 7.0, so I stuck with 6.0.

I'm very busy though, so not sure how often I could do work.

If you need to contact me, you can contact me on AIM at Evolved Crisis, or PM me on here or the Chrono Shock forums.

If you want me to do some sample work such as a profile view of Crono's head, I can do so easily... I can probably also work on recording a voice sample for him and making bones for his mouth so he can talk :P It's all sketchy right now though... I haven't done game production before, so it'd be something new for me :ph43r:

chrono-addict - October 4, 2003 06:50 PM (GMT)

Hey people! Im catching up fast look at this great work of art i made without any help:: Image not available..

Its real bad, but isnt it good for first tutorial-less stuff? :D :P :P (other then making spheres) So now i have 3d studio max 4(i couldnt get 5), photoshop 7, and an emulator w/ ct.rom

O ya, i also have flash mx...

P.S. im ChronoTrigger, changed my name to devilry. Only used ChronoTrigger name here because i used to play a online game for a couple years, so yah :)

chrono-addict - October 7, 2003 11:30 PM (GMT)
hmm...
i dont no, my website messed up now so im gonna have to re-do the website and upload the pic again, itll be up soon ((now im working on a realistic keyboard, its boring to do all the textures w/ photoshop like this =P))
heres a sample of the keyboard::
user posted image that doesnt work, either heres the direct link to it: Click here

devilry - October 8, 2003 06:26 PM (GMT)
Yah thats ok, if thats your first thing you've ever made. But try and do tutorials, something that catches your eye and you want to create. You'll learn a lot more from doing tutorials then fiddling around with max. You can look through the internet or in Max. They have a bunch of tutorials, some cool stuff in there. So yah, the more you learn the funner it gets.

chrono-addict - October 9, 2003 01:07 AM (GMT)
yea, but fiddling with max is also good :P altho ill get bored, so now im gonna learn!! :D Next time ill be here, ill know everything! Mwahahaha!!

Jack - October 10, 2003 04:12 PM (GMT)
Max is a great skill to know, I wish I knew atleast something about it :(
Another skill we need badley is Texturers and perhaps UT Level designers to speed things up. In 4 weeks Im getting I get a ton of time to learn the UT engin :D so that ought to be fun, right now Im just on scrap duity (finding cool maps for scraps).

*PiMP* - October 11, 2003 09:18 PM (GMT)
I can learn to do models but i can do maps if thats an assitance?

Jack - October 11, 2003 10:45 PM (GMT)
We need level designers, lots of them... Texture guys are needed very badley too.

*PiMP* - October 12, 2003 12:17 AM (GMT)
If you could give me an idea of what type of levels you want i'll have a ogo at making them
