Title: Petition?
Description: Sorry, kinda a noob to laws

tycan - October 25, 2005 03:15 AM (GMT)
Hey, I just found out about you guys, srry to hear about what happened. But i was thinking, is there a possible way to get it through to Squareenix that we want this game? I.E. a petition or legally paying off a remake for this project. I would be willing to open my pocket for a new chrono trigger (i aint opening it up too much tho ;))

Thx,
-Tycan

Well it's still being translated.

well id like to now what else your going to do with it

Stoney - November 5, 2005 10:29 AM (GMT)
Hey, we're workin' on it, okay?! :P

Actually, the petition hasn't made any progress at all since around mid-September, because the person designing the website has been extremely slow about making it dynamic, a.k.a. capable of being updated. We're trying to make him go faster, but he's apparently having a tough time of it since he has a normal job and he's doing this project in his spare time, or so he tells us.

Anyway, over a week ago he claimed he'd be done in a week. On Nov. 1st, he claimed he'd be done by the end of the day. Neither of these things has happened yet, so by now I've pretty much given up all hope of anything getting done.

If you wanna complain about this (which you should), contact Jake-A-Roonie and see if he'll let you have the website designer's e-mail address.

Chill out now, Stoney... :) We don't want to be bad-mouthing those in our organization now, do we?

Crabsmasher, actually, it wasn't being "translated." That Latin text is filler text that is commonly used to show how a large amount of text will look in a certain format, font, and paragraph structure. Do a Google search for "lorem ipsum" and you'll find it everywhere. :) We just needed to fill all those fields in with the site's real content, that's all.

A couple of last-minute bugs are still being worked out. After that, we will "officially" launch the petition in sync with the release of Chrono Symphonic.

Mrr222, as far as what else we'll be doing with it, check out the site (you may have to clear your internet cache for the new text to display) and you'll be able to get the gist of what will happen. Square-Enix USA is aware of this project and has advised us a bit in how to structure it. I'd say we are working "closely" with them, but it's actually been a couple of months since our last phone call. But anyway. They suggested a goal of 20,000 signatures, so naturally I want to blow them out of the water with 25,000. ;) (That's 25% more signatures; 25% more firepower.)

WolfPack - November 13, 2005 05:48 AM (GMT)
If we can get more than 25k, we should, of course, go for it. But I think we're gonna have a hard time getting there as it is......

When should we start trying to get people sign these things?

Hmm, let me see. Nope. :P

If Tycan doesn't check CTRP between now and the petition's launch, then I'll let him know about it via email. Hmm, I wonder if he has any skill at making sigs or wallpapers...

Wolfpack- Site launch is soon. We still have a few more things to clear up, but once we do we'll publicise it and signatures will start coming in. There's a bit more info over at vizzed, but that's limited too. We're almost done. If you want, PM me with questions and if I can, I'll answer them.

Awsome!

id help out, but i dont know many people who play CT.

An alternative to a Petition would be to continue the mod under secrecy. That's a Mod team is doing for their Final Fantasy VII Mod for Jedi Academy. The idea came to them when SquareEnix shut you guys down. Work on it in secrecy and if the petition succeeds, bring out your work but until then, work on it in secrecy, ofcourse, contacting each other on it and perhaps to give us very brief progress...and release the finished project all over the internet when your done. Square won't be able to do a thing once its finished and released all over the internet.

Duranix - December 29, 2005 06:30 AM (GMT)
They could still get sued.

propagator4 - January 2, 2006 07:10 AM (GMT)
And the problem with secret projects like that is that they aren't really ever secret. Take the one you just mentioned, for instance. Now there's mention of it in a forum that Square has been known to monitor.
