Title: Tutorial Patch, Banner Contest & Bonus

ZeaLitY - August 8, 2005 02:42 AM (GMT)
Three items of news for today. Firstly, DivineDragoonKain has made a patch for Chrono Trigger that modifies Gato's area of the Millennial Fair. The patch includes several NPCs who demonstrate facets of creating and editing NPCs with the program Temporal Flux. This should certainly help beginning editors, and will make for a fun diversion! The patch is available in two forms, one for headered roms and one for unheadered roms. If you don't know the difference, download the headered one. If you also don't know how to install it, please view the readme.

Secondly, in preparation for Chrono Trigger's tenth birthday on August 22nd, I'm hosting a small banner contest. Contestants are asked to create two 500 x 125 banners that incorporate official art from Chrono Trigger. The winner gets his or her art displayed on the Compendium's tenth anniversary webpage, whose content is a surprise! Other entries might be displayed too. If you're interested, check out this thread.

Lastly, Chains of Fate has a small surprise update on Chrono Crisis, and it deals with the End of Time.

The End Of Time is now a base for lost souls. By talking to certain people or finding certain items, the group is able to use special red gates to prevent the deaths of several different people. Since their survival would threaten the balance of time, once saved, these people go to the End Of Time. You will be able to fully customize The End Of Time to your discretion; further details will remain a secret for now. An example is, someone died after being sick, but in the current time there is no cure. You go to the place where they died/etc. and a red gate opens. You go to the time before they died, give them the cure, then they go to the End Of Time.

This is an exciting development, and Chrono Crisis (a sequel to Chrono Trigger using RPGMakerXP) is shaping up to be phenomenal. You can see a beta screenshot of the End of Time here. Stay tuned for more updates, and on August 22nd, the anniversary! Not only will the Crimson Echoes demo be released, but more gifts are in store. Seeya then!

Very very nice. Chrono Crisis seems to be coming along very nicely. I wish chain of hearts the best of luck, I can hardly wait!

I'm going to join this banner contest myself. I'll post something about it later at the compendium. Seems it would be fun, I'm expecting a lot of competitors. It'll be fun :D

Another thing I wanted to discuss. This is the third time in several months that someone claimed it was Chrono Trigger's 10th birthday!!!! What day is it really!?!? :ph43r:

This is what I found:

Japan: 3.11.1995
USA: 9.27.1995

So Japan has already celebrated Chrono Trigger's 10th birthday.
1 month and 19 days left! Yay :D

What is Crimson Echoes?

Zeality, is the Compendiums CT Remake/CT-CC Sequels section up to date? i know there are a lot of Fan games that have died, a lot more have started, and Crisis is the only one getting anywhere.

I can't wait for Crisis, actually. Finally a sequel! Fan made, too! What i cant wait even more for is a Temporal Flux MOD for CT! Bwaha! Imagine, loading Zsnes and using the keys /controller, just like i did to play CT, to play a fangame, thats so W00t!

You can check info on Crimson Echoes at the Compendium. Seems like it's getting along rather nicely. Anyways I already put my banners up for the contest at the compendium O.o. So yea, hmm playing fan game on emulator....that would be fun...
