Title: EA is at it again....

EA has done some more money leaching:
http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/half-life-2/634533p1.html

Now they are going to publish Valve games, this pisses me off. They arent doing it b/c they like the franchise they are not going to try and help make it better. They are just trying to roll in the cash. You can tell from various other things that have done. They bought the NFL football franchise, they bought 20% of Ubisoft...why did they get these? Well money of course. They saw that there was success with other football games that werent madden so they bought the NFL franchise so that they could get all the money that the other companies were getting. Then they started bying Ubisoft. Why? Because they saw that games lik PoP and Splinter Cell were doign good so they wanted the money. Now they are publishing Valves games b/c they want money. Half Life easily is a better game than Halo 2, easily. They saw this and now are trying to roll in the cash.. This isnt the first time i got pissed at them, they bought westwood(guys who made C&C) so they could get more money. Same with the James Bond Games...Goldeneye was good, but once EA got the license after that there hasnt been a single good James Bond. As you can tell I dislike EA very much. Franchises like Battlefield, LoTR, James Bond, Half Life, C&C should not be in there possesion. They should be given to a company who really cares about games and not money...

*breathes in and out* Ok I am calm now

So what do you think of EA as both a publisher and a developer?
Whats your opinion on them publishing Valves games?

Edit: I just realized how stupid this sounds, sprry about it. I was in a horrible mood so I guess I took my anger on EA. If there are still any mods here could you please delete this?

I hate EA. They are like the big corporation that all hardcore gamer hippies hate and hold rock festivals to try and overthrow.

Okay, maybe not rock festivals.

Still, I hate EA with a burning passion. They destroy everything they touch.

Chill out.

All they are doing is signing with Valve to distribute Half Life 2, that's it. Nothing Else.

Plus Valve sucks anyways.

*Shakes Fist*

Grrrrr Valve is way better than alot of developers..they top Bugie a billion times over...

Valve is by far one of the absolute worst software distributing companies ever. They had a horrible sound cache in their game (HL2) They had SPAM in it that was from Half-Life1 that wasn't fixed (a ten year old game, nonetheless, but this is all known stuff..)

People had to wait 7-8 hours when first buying HL2 to register it.

Valve sucks at distributing, and is way overrated (Half-Life 2 was just a shoot 'em up with pretty water...whoopdee freaking doo, they didn't even do their own physics engine so don't even give me that)

Which is why they formed with EA, a company that is almost as half assed as valve but knows how to distribute software.

 Well though EA has done a good job of letting at least ME down on a lot of thier games, I do have to say I did like HL2, the story was good and the graphics were good, though that register system is beyond retarded.... its more like a cybernetic version of a veggitable state. And wether they made the pyhsics engine or not doesn't matter, it worked for the game and thats enough for me.

It's not the physics or "shoot em up" game play that got me into this game. It's the amazing textures and story. Half Life 2 is the greatest FPS I have played, better than Halo, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Quake, Doom and anything else you can name...you may not agree but thats how I feel...

The main reason I enjoyed HL2 so much is because I've never played such an intense game. HL2's action is riveting and exciting; I was kept nervous and tense throughout the entire game. It's awesome.

Uh, people? Could we get back on topic here?

I'm still appalled at EA for buying out the NFL license. It's a monopoly, plain and simple. Somebody should take them to court over it.

But EA also publishes The Sims, so I don't think the whole company is bad. Just the sports division.

GalaxyFalcon - August 3, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
Well EA took over titles such as Command and Conquer, Mechwarrior, and several other such titles, after soon which, the game genere spiraled down into oblivion. I like alot of EA's games (Sims, for instance) but I tihnk they need to quit buying out and then fouling up other game titles.
Please?
