Lol, I was bored as heck.

Anyways back on topic. The new megaman battle network installment of the mega-crazy series. So far it's pretty good. Although some repetitive things here and there. Same battle system, same people. Just new Navi's to delete......well some. Some crazy new battle chips, and of course some old ones. There's still that program advance for all you hardcore mega-gamers out there. And of course the Navi-customizer is back, still the same. Sub-chips still getting annoying here and there. But hey, who's complaining? (besides me) Although most of the story line is still repetitive and seems to get boring after a while the developers added a new twist to the new installment. You can actually use Protoman!!!!!!! Yes you heard me right, Protoman! (hence one of the games is called Megaman Battle Network 5: Team Protoman, and the other Team Colonel) As for this colonel navi guy, I have no idea who it is. Unless it's Searchman but I'm not sure. Anyways back to the point. This new twist is very challenging to say the least. You get your team of navi's (So far I have 3) And you all go on a Liberation Mission. I find this the most challenging part of the game as you can't use your subchips to restore HP, you can't edit your chipfolder, no start menu, just the save when you are on the mission as one of your Navi's turns. You use all the Navi's you get as you progress through the story, and each one has 1 special chip of their own, while you have to use your chips for all 3 of them. It's pretty much kind of like a turn-based Rpg, mixed with an action-rpg all in one. While busting viruses you also have to "liberate" dark holes, and if you want get the bonues around the area (the yellow squares with a ? mark, which include Max HP, invincible for 1 phase, a battle chip, or order points) Order points are good when you have a navi who can protect you all during the enemy phase (like Magnet Man). Good thing is, if you delete the main evil navi guy in a certain amount of phases, you get the battle chip of that navi. US version supposed to come out soon I think, and I have the European version. If your a megaman fan like me, It's worth getting.

Here's a sneak peak of my Navi Team so far which consists of Mega, Protoman, and MagnetMan.
Megaman Team

Top left of course is Mega's HP, and the other navi's HP is located under them. You can switch which navi you want to use with select. The top right shows the order points. Using Magnet Barrier (magnetman's ability to protect everyone during enemy phase) uses up 1 pt. You can of course get more by going to the bonuses or find some lying around the other panels around you after you Liberate them.

I personally dont like the Megaman Battle network series...they need to just focus on Zero and get a new platforming series(not but a new fresh one) on the DS...

Wow.... I only played up to megaman X, what the hell are you talking about!?

Anyway, I was (am) a HUGE megaman fan on the NES, but I saw this megaman tv show recently, and it was really depressing... is this battle network-thingy any good?

...oh, and nice finger by the way ;)

Lol, only up to megaman X eh? Well if the battle network series are all RPG's. Megaman is pretty much a program made by this genious guy (Dr. Hikari), who in the game is your own father.(good stuff) Anyways you pretty much just have to save your friends and the world from evil bad guys, Such as WWW (World 3) Gospel, Nebula, and other SPAM. It's pretty much the series on t.v. except in a videogame. I find it very pleasing to play. You should try it if you like RPG's and Megaman. Try to find The first one though (Megaman Battle Network) and if you like it continue on with 2, 3, 4, and 5. This game is also, in fact, has alot of challenging puzzles. Each game with different puzzles here and there. So if you like puzzles you should try this game too.

I have to admit, MMBN5 came along way from 1 and i like the whole puzzle thing where you actually move the guys and destroy virus platforms. Its just the game gets really boring after a while. I dont know why but i dread jacking in because it always takes so long to get to the boss. I find it fun when i quit playing for a while and start playing again. Thats how I beat the others and could actually wait for this one to come out since I was still playing the other ones. What is the Colonol version? I mean what is the First char you team up with? I just had to get zero since zero is my favorite in the whole mega man series. Even When I played the snes megaman X - X3 Where some you could actually play as zero, I loved that.

I really think that the previous games were better. they've all evolved since the first one. this one doesn't have nething new that improves it. just that liberating SPAM that is just boring. 3 turns to liberate a square. I'd rather fight Roll and Gutsman and they should create more navis for you to train against. Most characters in the game should have fighting navis instead of sending out viruses.

Heh, Yea I did like the previous ones alot more too. I have to say Red sun/ Blue moon were the worst out of the series. (Don't get me wrong I still like Red sun and Blue moon). The first one I'd have to say is tied for the best with part 3 blue version. Part 2 was ok. It was almost same thing except with like 1 or 2 minor changes. Yea the liberation thing does piss me off alot but I think it's a nice addition to it. Although I don't think they should have made it so that you only have 2 turns to defeat the viruses. But I still like using the other navi's though. Especially protoman, he's da shiznits homeslice. .....yeh..

relmatos - June 17, 2005 03:29 PM (GMT)
that'd easily be accomplished by giving you the choice of which navi to play with the entire game. the tougher navis could become available once you defeated them or finished the game.

Thus far I have enjoyed 7, X, X-2,X-3, Zero,Zero 2, Zero 3

Actually I've only played Megaman 1-7, Megaman X, All Megaman Zero's, and all Battle networks, and Network transmission for GC. Out of those I liked, some of the 1-7's (I just forget which ones), the Megaman X, megaman zero 1 and 2 (I didn't like 3 much) and all battle networks.
