Title: Stoney,
Description: the twilight princess & oblivion topic!

Marcel - May 25, 2005 02:47 PM (GMT)
being the link-fan that you are, I'm confident that you've already seen these. But just to be sure, check this.

Also, what do you guys think about the the upcoming Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion? I think the pics and movies released so far look... promising, to say the least.

Knives101 - May 26, 2005 02:13 AM (GMT)
 Odd thread title? Looks alright haven't played it yet, wasn't a big fan of morrowind.

Magus5311 - May 26, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Oblivions gonna own ^.-

Marcel - May 27, 2005 02:13 PM (GMT)
Well, he IS the one who keeps on raving about zelda around here, isn't he?
Ok I admid it's odd

isak@mac.com - May 27, 2005 04:27 PM (GMT)
Yeah, he is... And Zelda rocks!

I cannot wait until the new Zelda releases...

Stoney - May 27, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
Yes, I've seen it. All of those screenies are from the trailers, anyway, and I've got them too. :P

Not to be snobbish or anything, but this thread's title is by far the greatest thing in the history of creation. Also, Marcel pwns the universe.

Hey, why don't we turn this discussion into everyone's favorite topic for inducing nausea--ME! We can talk about how utterly absurd and bizarre I am, we can act stupid and silly, and we can worship Zelda until the cows come home. ;) :P

Magus5311 - May 28, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
Hey everyone, isn't Stoney the best? He's so awesome... I love to worship stoney... In fact I have a Stoney Shrine in my closet...

Also I love to worship Link... I like to stoke him and his 100% awesomeness... I'm so very very jealous of not only Stoney but Link as well... If only I could ever be an ounce as cool as either...

Knives101 - May 28, 2005 03:48 AM (GMT)
 interesting fact I found out recently, though you guys probably already know, but link will have hte ability change into a wolf..

0greatone - May 28, 2005 05:02 AM (GMT)
I know, how is that going to work i wonder. Idk but if anyone can do it, i belive the zelda team can :P

isak@mac.com - May 28, 2005 05:08 PM (GMT)
Well, some fact 'bout the new Zelda: Twilight Princess!

Copy from ZeldaUniverse:

•The title of the game comes from the "Twilight" which is apparently a dark and evil force spreading throughout the world. Seems like there's some sort of a Dark/Light world thing going on, and as opposed to the scenario in A Link to the Past, it seems that "Twilight Hyrule" is swallowing and taking over normal Hyrule. This is exceptionally bad since people can not live normally in the Twilight World.

•Link in this game is a completely new incarnation of the Hero, and not the same Hero as the one in for instance Ocarina of Time or The Wind Waker.

•Link Transforms into a wolf whenever he enters the "Twilight" Hyrule. He is NOT a Werewolf.

•The Female creature shown in the trailer riding link is an enemy of some sort, but you have to team up to fight an even greater evil.

•Link can talk to animals, and they teach you abilities throughout the game.

•Certain puzzles in dungeons require you going back and forth between the Light and Twilight worlds. (Similar to Link to the past and Metroid Prime 2)

•The "new" Boomerang, as seen in the trailer, is called "Gale Boomerang". It represents one of the many traditional Zelda items which will return with a new twist. There will also be completely new items.

•The inventory screen has been modified from the traditional setup, so that it won't reveal exactly how many items you have left to collect. This is because this was a semi-spoiler of how much you had left of the quest.

•The entire soundtrack for the game is NOT fully orchestraed like previously believed, but the "especially dramatic scenes" will be. Aonuma added with a touch of humour that " this will only occur when it's "fiscally responsible" to do so ".

•Aonuma would not downright state that the game will have more dungeons that for instance Ocarina of Time, but he said that it is their main goal to create a game that surpasses OoT.

•The hawk is not Zelda.

•There's a character called Fado in the game.

•Midna, the creature you see riding on Link's back, is apparantly an evil creature, butshe helps

•Link with the hope that it will help her progress towards her own goals.

•The cloaked character is the "Twilight Princess", Zelda. Her cloak is a "Death Robe" that she is wearing because she feels that there is nothing she can do to avoid Hyrule from being swallowed
by the darkness. She is also being held captive.

•It is currently -very- insecure where exactly in the timeline the game takes place. The translator in the roundtable said a couple of decades after Ocarina of Time, whereas some sources claim that this is a translation error and that it is infact a couple of decades after The Wind Waker.

•Eiji Aonuma is actually both directing and producing this game, and he is not only producer as previously thought.

Hope this helps! :)

QUOTE (Magus5311 @ May 27 2005, 07:11 PM)

I love sarcasm, and Magus does too--I have GOT to put this quote in my signature. :P (Stoney Shrine?)

Has anyone seen the latest issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly? They got an exclusive interview with Eiji Aonuma before E3 happened. Turns out the village where you begin the game with Link is called Toaru Village. ("Toaru" is Japanese for "Unspecified".) Eiji himself has dubbed the hero's first version (i.e. the version before he gets his famous green duds) "Cowboy Link", and indeed, most of what you do in Toaru are activities that the western cowboys of lore took part in--like rounding up cattle and such. You'll be able to name Link's horse in this game...apparently, the steed isn't Epona like we'd all hoped. :( Horseback riding is absolutely crucial to the gameplay, since the world is no longer limited to Hyrule (Toaru Village is a long ways away from Hyrule, in fact) and thus, the world is far too big to get around in on foot. That's right--you will no longer be able to traverse the entire world in a single "day" of gameplay, unlike Ocarina of Time. ;)

Also...the fishing minigame is back!! YAY! The person who programmed it for Twilight Princess is actually the same guy who programmed the fishing in Ocarina of Time, so the controls are the same. Eiji speculated on the possibility of making the fishing game more integral to the game, as opposed to Ocarina, where it was completely optional and unrelated to the story.

There are a frightening amount of similarities between the "Twilight World" and the Dark World of Link to the Past. If you recall, anyone who entered the Dark World in that game also changed into an animal that reflected their true selves--in the case of that game's Link, the animal was a bunny rabbit. :P In this game, it seems like Link's true self is a wolf......uber awesomeness.

No word yet on where and when Ganon makes his appearance, but there really isn't any doubt that he'll be in the game...unless the last boss turns out to be Dark Link, that is...

Ok, now we might be...

Wow, looks impressive! Small, but impressive B)

Crabsmasher - June 3, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
Zelda is going to pwn! But I have never played any of the elder scroll games..

Marcel - June 5, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
The graphics of Morrowind are probably somewhat outdated (especially the faces), and some people don't like the 'lack of direction' feel of the game (those ppl should be tracked down and slaughtered like kettle) but other than that there's really nothing not to like about it, AND you can pick it up for about 6 euro's! Go get it! Gogogogo!! :)

Crabsmasher - June 14, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)
I doubt my PC could run it...-_-
