Title: How far have you guies goten
NrG - May 7, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
I know I have not been here for a while, have you made a lot of progress?
Knives - May 8, 2005 04:39 AM (GMT)
Looks like it's time for more "leaked info" :D
Right now we are working on 2 character models (who shall remain nameless.) We have worked a lot on the forest, the base terrain for it is done and zeekpunk has made a lot of models for it. Also Crono's mom, some NPCs, and the script (read: code) for NPCs. Things have been getting slower lately because of exams and bigger workloads, but coming soon is summer and lots of time.
fxar99 - May 8, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
Whew... I hope I join, too :P

Thats great! What was zeek's position again anyway?
Also Square still knows nothing right?

I think - and hope - so
Crabsmasher - May 12, 2005 12:54 PM (GMT)
If square shut this project down I would have to KIIIILL!
isak@mac.com - May 12, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah...
Right, off topic folks...
Apocalypse - May 12, 2005 10:58 PM (GMT)
Yes... I believe we can all rest assured that almost every CT fan in the WORLD (well... at least those that know of this project) will be plotting assassinations of various SE members. Of course, being an electrical/computer engineer, I am pretty much guaranteed to have the most elaborate and technical plot of them all. Afterall, not only can I make large Tesla coils, but I have also gotten in to a project for a robot that tracks down certain people, and then shoots tennis balls at them until their body heat dissipates. With a few modifications... that could be a rather... scary assassin machine. Of course, I can make various other electronic torture devices (such as the 8 hz (I believe that would be the correct frequency) boombox, which equals vomitorium), but the first two sound most probable. Scary stuff... :ph43r:
Nah... I probably won't kill them. Maybe just blast them with a few 8 Hz waves. Those'll teach 'em.
Stoney - May 13, 2005 12:41 AM (GMT)
Apoc, your declaration of unrivaled power has officially creeped me out. I shall now go hide in my triple-shielded bomb shelter and pray that I don't get on your bad side. :P
zeekpunk - May 14, 2005 04:49 AM (GMT)
Apoc, PM me when u perfect the Orgasmo gun.
Knives101 - May 14, 2005 08:15 AM (GMT)
 apocs scaring me... :ph43r: Personally I prefer the direct apporach though, little snip of the brake lines... end of story.
Apocalypse - May 14, 2005 10:20 PM (GMT)
...orgasmo gun? Hmmm... well... while I agree some would find much interest in such a device; I don't particularly think it would um... be used as a weapon. Although technically, if certain frequencies have wierd effects on the body, then I wouldn't be surprised if something like that could be done.
Now if you wanted to torture from miles away, you could just blast the entire S-E building with 8 Hz waves. That frequency has been used on various occasions as a method of stopping violent protests and such. It basically just REALLY screws around with a person's body... making them... well... basically spew out whatever they happen to have in them. Me and a few other insane engineers have been thinking about making a few "8 Hz Guns", which when used would basically have a shorter ranged effect. Of course, to protect yourself, you need to nullify the frequency around your body. Therefore, a noise cancellor is needed... which pretty much just nullifies the frequency. I haven't looked in to noise cancellation much, but to my understanding; all that is required is the same frequency, turned around 180 degrees.
Then of course, there is the Tesla Coil. I'm pretty certain most people have heard of that one. Now what COULD be done, is that with a simple processor and perhaps sonar, you could make the Tesla coil actually track down targets. In other words, it would be shooting out large bolts of plasma at basically... anything that happens to move.
And of course, there is then the "Assassin Machine". We've been looking over our designs on this one for a while. It can easily be modified to basically track down a target with body heat, chase after it, and then... just proceed to shoot it until the body heat dissipates. That'd be... a little messy though.
Remember kids, the most horrible death-bringing inventions are made by scientists, and engineers. Of course... I don't particularly intend to actually use any of those things. I'd have to be REALLY pissed off to actually go out of my way to build all of that. Is it possible though? Yes... quite possible.
*edit*
There's one more I forgot to mention. There is the EMP bomb. Those things are basically made to totally destroy and computer systems in the bombed area. It basically erases all forms of memory by giving off some kind of frequency. There are tutorials on how to make them just about everywhere. Now if that was used... I'd have the SE fans coming after me. All the games would be... gone. Again, I'd never actually do that. I'm just saying... such a thing IS possible.
Remember... knowledge is power. ;)
Knives101 - May 15, 2005 02:53 AM (GMT)
:  ...I...I... I thought you were just joking before... :ph43r:
Apocalypse - May 15, 2005 01:18 PM (GMT)
Joking? Nope. Such things are very possible to make, especially if you are skilled in Electronics. Though I would have LIKED to pursue programming more, my engineering class dragged me in to assembly language and how to program processors. There we learned how to basically create controlled devices... some even robots. Some teams have also discussed self-sufficient Hydrogen Fuel-Cell robots (they drink)... though... that's pretty complex. Of course, we then got in to various other things... such as data comunications. In that process, we learned how to find people based on IP addresses (through use of certain software)... and also how to make devices transmitting waves themselves... or picking up waves in the air already. In the process we started talking about 8 Hz waves... and what the effect is. Obviously... that is how we learned about that.
We've also discussed making Tesla coils many times. We know how it basically works... basically involving many coils and capacitors... all basically discharging huge amounts of voltage/current... which is basically in the form of plasma (lightning). I've heard that some smaller ones have been made, that release plasma along a kind of "string". It supposedly can cut through anything... but I don't have proof on that one.
The so-called "Assassin machine" is actually a machine we've been working with. Using a processor, sonar, and a camera system... it launches tennis balls at the opponent. The modification is that it actually moves on wheels. Now it COULD technically be modified to using something a little... more lethal than a tennis-ball launcher... if you get my drift.
I'm not specifically saying I have some insane legion of murderous robots (yet) or anything. I'm just saying that I do have the capability. Why would I want to build them? I know HOW to make things, that doesn't mean I actually will. Not to mention, building such devices would likely be of danger to myself as well. It IS true though. Many devices are easy to make, and are highly destructive. An EMP bomb, for example, can be made with less than $1000.00. Making a device emit 8 Hz isn't too hard either. Why would I WANT to use such things though? Using an analogy, everyone knows lighting gasoline makes things go BOOM, but does that mean they're just gonna start lighting up all the gasoline they see? Obviously not. Having the capability is entirely different than actually utilizing that capability. Quite frankly, I wouldn't want to harm people like that.
Besides, why make WMD when you can make handheld video games!!! Right now i'm in a project to make a handheld equivalent of a Gameboy... with a backlight! :P
***edit***
Erm... I just noticed something. This topic has gone HORRIBLY of topic. It went from the progress the team has made to... insane legions of murderous robots and Weapons of Mass Destruction?!!? Hehe... I guess I kinda contributed to that one. Sorry about that.

Ok apoc, bring out those robots.
Apocalypse - May 21, 2005 12:57 PM (GMT)
*sigh...*
Hmmm... well... lets see...
I don't really want to kill them... afterall, there is a chance they will actually do the right thing after closing down TWO CT fan projects, and make a CT game themselves. I think I'll give them two years. If nothing turns up by then; then there is a POSSIBILITY I'll test my "8 Hz boom box" there. The entire SE building would be... well... requiring many janitors that day.
I also realized... such a massive attack would require well... too much precision. Sure, I CAN make them... but they'll kind of hurt/kill anything that happens to move... and has body heat. Innocents caught in the fire is kind of a BAD thing... unfortunately. It seems the best way to do it, would be the 8 Hz waves... as that will effect ALOT of people, but not have danger of killing/seriously wounding anyone caught in the crossfire. To add to this problem... I do not know the specific address of SE, so some research on that regard will have to be done.
Meh... I'll ponder this idea. For now, I'll give SE some time.
fxar99 - May 21, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
They aren't going to create anything about CT. It's over. For them, it was just a part of their work.
So, begin your attack. Perhaps we should use some kind of... magitek. (Did I say that?)
Apocalypse - May 22, 2005 03:55 AM (GMT)
...in terms of Magitek... you COULD technically reproduce ANY magical attack. It just requires the right materials. For instance... a Tesla coil could nicely reproduce any Lightning-based spell. In addition, a flamethrower can be quite effective for fire-based magic. For blizzard spells... you could just catapult giant hunks of ice at them.
Meh... I think I'll stand by my "two year" claim. I'll see if they can justify themselves for shutting down these projects. Afterall... it wouldn't be fair to not give them a chance to make amends. Keep in mind, if they WERE going to make a CT game... it might be a bad idea to you know... hurt the people developing it...
Stoney - May 22, 2005 03:54 PM (GMT)
There's another problem, Apoc...if at the end of two years S/E still hasn't done anything, you would have to go after the company at all three of its branches: Square/Enix of Europe, Square/Enix of North America, and Square/Enix of Japan. NOT going after all three branches would do nothing, since the company would still exist in the other countries. The most effective attack would be to destroy S/E of Japan first--THAT'S where the company originated from, and that's where their main headquarters are. S/E of Europe and North America get all their orders and demands from the Japanese section. In fact, it's completely possible that the people at S/E Europe or S/E North America WANT to make a new Chrono game, but the people at S/E Japan won't let them.
So in other words, you'd have to travel to different countries in order to enact your holy vengeance...and I doubt they'll let you carry an army of killer robots, or a killer boom box, onto the plane. ;)
Apocalypse - May 22, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
Well... seeing as I happen to be planning a trip to Japan in two years... that isn't entirely impossible. Also... I could bring PARTS, not the actual "weapons". So long as I have my blueprints, a programmer, and the correct parts... I SHOULD be able to build it over there.
...so... if I WERE to do this. You'd want it to be in Japan? I swear, despite my ability to... the idea of... you know... JAIL kind of negates my wanting to do this. Then again... vengance IS nice. Bleh... guess we'll find out in two years.
crazy...
fxar99 - May 23, 2005 08:12 AM (GMT)
Why would SE Europe want to create another Chrono game? And why would SE Japan not let them? I didn't understand that.
Stoney - May 23, 2005 09:09 PM (GMT)
Suppose there's a bigger Chrono following in Europe than in Japan. Since Square/Enix isn't stupid, their European branch would be bound to notice the series' popularity in their region, and they would think something along the lines of, "Hey, we could make a lot of money by taking advantage of this!"
But if the fan-following isn't as big in Japan, then the Japanese branch would not think it would be worth it to spend the time, money, and resources required to make a new game in the series; instead, they'd work on games that they know would sell very well with the Japanese, such as Final Fantasy.
So it's possible that S/E of Europe (or S/E of North America) might think that a new Chrono game would be a good idea, but they wouldn't get anywhere because the Japanese branch would disagree--and the Japanese branch controls the company.
fxar99 - May 25, 2005 09:47 AM (GMT)
@#$%^&*&^%$#$%^!!!
Since they don't plan anything else I don't understand why they don't let anybody create something and they still keep the copyrights!
And I can't find a more angry smilie!!!
