it was a classic for the N64. There are rumors the Electronic Arts is currently working on a next-gen remake of it for the PS2 and XBox. Hopefully they do a good job with it, and not mess it up like they did the follow-ups to GoldenEye. Too bad Rare wasn't able to hold onto the Bond license, as they were one of the few companies able to produce a great game with a brand name license attached to it.

I have the N64, and now I remember the title for it.. I wasn't really into the shooter games back then when I did have it :( Just the N64 seems so kidsy, I never thought there were any good games for it, lewlz

kidsie games own!
Goldeneye was more toned down violence wise then most first person shooters people are accustomed to (no gibs or gushing blood) but it had a great selection of weapons and the level design was top notch for a game back then. After Goldeneye came out the developers at Rare released Perfect Dark that reviewers gave even higher praise then 007. If you ever see a top 50 console games ever, you'll definately see 007 ranked in the middle of the pack. It set a preset for console 1st person shooters, during a time when there weren't many good choices.
