everyone should revert back to using DOS at least it didnt go crashy crashy ever few minutes :o! heck DOS was one of the most solid OS systems ever!

Sturmtruppe - September 28, 2003 01:03 AM (GMT)

we dun really want to spend too much money on dat stuff. cause we recently moved houses and moneys pretty tight.

chikichicky - September 29, 2003 10:45 PM (GMT)
There's always trial versions that can monitor for about a month? o.O'

Sturmtruppe - September 30, 2003 12:27 AM (GMT)
THEYWHA???????
TRIAL VERSIONS?!?!?!

OMFG_ILC - September 30, 2003 01:26 PM (GMT)
you can go to www.symantec.com or www.mcafee.com and download the trial antivirus software. Panda software offers free online virus protection, but if your on a 14.4k connect it might be too slow but u can just let it do its thing while you go out. you can also try getting something like systemworks or mcafee off of kazaa.

Sturmtruppe - October 1, 2003 12:33 AM (GMT)
yeah kazaa is a real time saver, but you should know better than mentioning a warez program on a popular online forum.

my bro's comp reformatted itself after we watched a dvd. Another time, I installed "Infantry" on his computer, and it somehow erased everything on his computer.

finally, at least ur hard drive didnt die! if it did, nothing woulda been recoverable!

if its windows ME (migrane edition >.< ) then im not suprised, ive had probs w/ it but not like that.

firewall: www.sygate.com (better than zone alarm, and doesnt spy back to zone labs)
antivirus: full norton AV 2k3, either legit or off kazaa. or good luck finding a good free one.(then tell me about it).

Sturmtruppe - October 1, 2003 04:16 PM (GMT)
no mines xp pro.

chikichicky - October 2, 2003 02:23 PM (GMT)
Don't even mention the crashy window's OS... I have errors every time I start up... XP so far I'd say hasn't crashed constantly. I only had to restart 2 times a month lol (not good but oh well restarts are slow). But XP for me is slow :(

OMFG_ILC - October 2, 2003 02:27 PM (GMT)
weee it only took me a day to know how crappy ME was. It came preinstalled on one of my computers, and moments after I booted up it crashed :( I kept it installed for about a week and crashed about 20 times during that time period. Then I wiped the HD and installed good ole' trusty 98 SE :D!!

chikichicky - October 6, 2003 02:13 PM (GMT)
I only worked with Windows 3.1, 95, 98, ME and XP.

For me win95 was ok, I still managed to download a virus and all, screwing up my computer, having a backdoor trojan and deleting my sound entirely. Then having a startup errors (something dll was missing).

win98 was getting better, I manage to still screw up the computer, so I reformatted.. a couple days later (after a number of crashes) I had errors on start up again.

windows ME was the same as 98 for me.. lots of crashes... lots of errors of whatever I did... I think that was on my second computer...

Can anyone say, woot! Go computers?

Sturmtruppe - October 7, 2003 02:24 AM (GMT)
what about linux? or uinux?

OMFG_ILC - October 10, 2003 12:53 AM (GMT)
linux is very good too but not as many games for it :D! at least with DOS you can play some old classics and be blown away by the beautiful black background with glowing white text interface :o
