Title: Crappy Anime in Canada

chikichicky - August 7, 2003 02:18 AM (GMT)
Is it me or is the Anime here in Canada suck?? All we have are Pokemon, Card Captors Sakura, Digimon, BeyBlade, Yu-gi-oh, Sailor-Moon, Zoids, DBZ... See? Crappy anime shows... VERY outdated, and the new ones are... bad sucky :\ etc...

Sturmtruppe - August 7, 2003 02:51 AM (GMT)
i do like escaflowne tho, sry about my spelling, hard to sound out.
ES...CA...FLOW...NE.
yes it did air in canada once, then. never again.

chikichicky - August 8, 2003 04:25 AM (GMT)
yeah but they stopped showing it :( well at least here anyway... what other ones.. that was one of the old ones... too

OMFG_ILC - August 8, 2003 04:57 AM (GMT)
they showed 6 eps of Escaflowne in the US, but it was taken off the air because FOX received so much hate mail for their crappy dubbing and editting of parts that they had no choice but to remove it....but yeah in Canada they just choose to bring over second rate dubs from the US instead of spending some $$$ to bring over some anime like Angelic Layer, Final Fantasy Unlimited, Lain, or even Sailor Stars. It's like a law here in Canada that all the shows they air either have to be 10 years old or suck really bad :(

FreeLancer - August 9, 2003 10:53 AM (GMT)
go out n rent anime then
if not go out n buy anime then
so u can stop complaining about horrible anime
and besides, nobody told u to watch them in the first place anywayz

chikichicky - August 10, 2003 12:01 AM (GMT)
why don't you? since you always seem to have "$5 life savings" all the time.. not all anime is good... and anime gets old... they need a new generation... of series... Then again Canada is slow at imports... but I download them anyway subbed... see it's like surfing the internet, I don't ever "WANT" to come across pr0n... but there's always ads... you see what I'm saying? You still happen to catch a few seconds of it and it's enough to make a judgement... it's crap...

Good ones were Sailor Moon until they didn't want to import Sailor Stars... CCS still pwns... The rest are old... I ain't saying they all suck... This is what I was implying before... sorreeeeeee if you took it the wrong way  At least I don't imply all Anime sucks eh?

OMFG_ILC - August 10, 2003 12:05 AM (GMT)
lol....:lmao:

Actually to answer your question I have bought anime, and lots of it..but that doesn't change the meaning of this thread...which is about the crappy anime they show in Canada; and no i don't watch it since most of it sucks , but if they showed better anime it would cause a much broader and significant audience to tune in and watch their crappy channels :yessir:

FreeLancer - August 10, 2003 09:50 AM (GMT)
how doesn't it change the meaning? if u buy or rent, u get more variety of different anime shows, and u rent or d/l or buy the ones u perfer so you don't need to watch the ones they show on tv

chikichicky - August 11, 2003 09:50 AM (GMT)
there's a crapload... if you have the money... cough it up :)

OMFG_ILC - August 11, 2003 09:54 AM (GMT)
omg...does this mean freelancer is going to buy us some anime....w00pie!!! thanks Sparky you be the shiznizz

chikichicky - August 13, 2003 06:27 AM (GMT)
weee anime and dvds... I mean here, Ah My Goddess Movie is close to $50 plus over 14% of taxing GST and PST...

OMFG_ILC - August 16, 2003 10:12 AM (GMT)
i get my anime online from www.animenation.com. The pricing is in U.S. dollar but their prices are fair and they have some good sale prices every so often.

Think of the handicapped who don't know what Online Shopping is!!!!!! OH THE HORROR!!! x.x

OMFG_ILC - August 18, 2003 08:25 AM (GMT)
online shopping is a life saver for me, since the nearby stores that sold anime suxorz! They didnt have any of the good anime, and usually costed way more then for what I payed for them online.

while we're at it, let's by neopets stuffy things and then burn them.. take a picture and send it as an attachment back to the "support" of neopets

Sturmtruppe - September 8, 2003 09:08 PM (GMT)
hey i got a question, the thing about these new anime shows is that somones always trying to take over the world by playing with TOYS! HONESTLY! TOYS! IF SOMEONE HAS A GRUDGE AGAINST SOMONE ELSE GO AND FREAKING PUNCH THEM, DONT START BEYBLADING OR ASK THEM TO "DUEL" YOU, just go up there AND PUNCH THEM! whatever happened to the sword fights and the massive gun battles. ahh those were the days.
i am truly pissed at the wussiness and teh gheyness of these todays childrens anime. shame on these new writers. SHAME!!

chikichicky - September 9, 2003 05:24 AM (GMT)
like card games of Yugioh (sp?) Pokemon is another one on one duel @.@ oh I dunno :\ maybe it's one of those "popular" things nowadays this generation has a thing for... Although beyblade toys were waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back...

OMFG_ILC - September 9, 2003 05:28 AM (GMT)
nobody fights for themselves in anime...guess they don't want to chip a nail or something. Even in anime with fighting, like DBZ, they tend to linger around for 10 episodes before they start the actually battles  I mean common who wants to watch two people stare at each other for 30 mins??? hehe oh well its still better then anything they show on YTV :D

chikichicky - September 10, 2003 07:31 PM (GMT)
ooo hurrah for kiddy shows....

SaTaN - September 11, 2003 12:22 AM (GMT)

Sturmtruppe - September 11, 2003 12:50 AM (GMT)

chikichicky - September 13, 2003 07:46 PM (GMT)

OMFG_ILC - September 17, 2003 04:02 AM (GMT)

chikichicky - December 22, 2003 09:12 AM (GMT)
Haven't even heard of it :o Is it good? rate it out of 10 or something to give me an idea :D After I finish downloading Samurai Deeper Kyo and Tokyo Mew Mew... I'll need a new series to download ;D

aZn.XJ - December 30, 2003 09:05 PM (GMT)
rate what? naruto ? i'd rate it 9, its about a kid ninja trying to be a hokage, but he doesnt know that a demon called "nine tails demon fox" is sealed inside him, so most adults hates him.

you gotta try Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, its gooood, you'l probly like it since your a girl :)

it's about a girl liking this guy, so her friend decides to befriend that guy, and told him that her friend likes him, so they start going out etc. then the girl who's currently going out with the guy, got into an accident and put into a coma. 3 years later, basicaly where the story starts.

and Da Capo.

chikichicky - January 2, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
Hmmm, sounds like an interesting plot :o Giving that a go first... I need more computer space lol... Actually, the anime takes up a lot of CDs, there's a box full X.x
