A Pokémon Battle

The day was like any other. I went to school, hung out with my friends, and helped save the city of Silver Hills from the evil Ransik as the Purple Time Force Ranger. I was hanging out in the clock tower above Nick Of Time Odd Jobs where I lived and worked with my fellow Time Force Rangers, Wes, Lucas, Trip, Katie, Jen, Artavius, Oanh, Russell, and Eric, when the phone rang.
“Nick Of Time Odd Jobs. Bobby, it’s for you. It’s Miranda.” Oanh said as she answered the phone and handed it to me.
“Thanks, Oanh. Hi, Miranda. What’s up?” I asked.
“Bobby, that guy Chris I told you about who bad mouthed me in German is on his way to Silver Hills. I told him about how you’re a Pokémon trainer and how much you hate it when he’s mean to me. He’s on his way to find out if you are for real and challenge you to a Pokémon battle. I didn’t tell him that you had over 100 different species. So you can tell him that when you see him. He knows what you look like. Be careful. I’m gonna take the next flight out to California to see you.” Miranda said.
“Okay. I’ll tell my friends. Thanks for giving the heads up, Miranda. I’ll wait for you at the airport tomorrow.” I said as I hung up.
My fellow Rangers & I ate dinner and we talked about various stuff. We also talked about Chris coming to challenge me to a Pokémon battle. I had decided that Chris & I would have a 12-on-12 Pokémon battle. After we finished eating, we gave some of the left overs to my Pokémon Snorlax. Then we all went to bed to get some sleep.
The next morning, I was awaken by the sounds of Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Heracross, Hitmontop, Ledyba, Teddiursa, Mareep, Elekid, Smeargle, Skarmory, Larvitar, Phanpy, and Noctowl making a commotion. I got out of bed, put some pants on and went downstairs. They were fighting over food. I got a little mad and stopped them.
“Guys, Time Out! I was trying to sleep and you know how much I hate being rudely awaken. Plus, we have to wait until everybody is awake before we eat breakfast. Noctowl, you should have used your Hypnosis to stop the fighting. Besides, I need all of you ready for my Pokémon battle with Chris later. Come on. Let’s make breakfast. Cyndaquil, Totodile, wake up the other Fire-Type Pokémon and have them get cooking, okay?” I said.
“Chiko! Noctowl! Skar! Top! Heracross! Smeargle! Dile! Quil! Larvi! Phanpy! Ledyba! Teddiursa! Mareep! Elekid!” they all said.
I decided to make omelettes with bacon, egg, cheese, and salsa with a hint of salt, pepper, tabasco sauce, and wasabi sauce for breakfast. Katie was the first to wake up. Then Trip & Lucas. Russell, Artavius, Oanh, Wes, Jen, and Eric were the last to wake up. We ate breakfast and I chose my 12 Pokémon to use in my battle against Chris. I had decided to use Aerodactyl as my last Pokémon to surprise him. I had also chosen Squirtle, Sandslash, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Phanpy, Noctowl, Heracross, Pikachu, Muk, and Tauros. I couldn’t wait to see what Pokémon Chris had.
When I had made my decision, I realized that it was time for me to pick up Miranda from the airport. Pikachu jumped onto my head and Lucas gave us a lift to the airport. Lucas & I talked about various things like our lives and our hobbies on the way there. He told me that it was Dash who inspired him to join Time Force and I thought that it was cool. He asked me to tell him how I had so much experience as a Power Ranger and I told him I’d let him see when we got home. He understood and we pulled into the airport parking lot. I had some of my Pokémon come out so Miranda could find me amongst the crowd and we went inside. Noctowl sat on my shoulder with Murkrow on my other shoulder. Chikorita & Cyndaquil stayed by my side as Spinarak clung onto my back and we searched for Miranda.
As we searched, Totodile kept running off and I had Bulbasaur grab & restrain him with a Vine Whip. We got to Gate 28 and waited for the plane. It was minutes before the plane arrived. I got up and my Pokémon stayed with me. Even Totodile stayed still. Miranda was the sixth person off the plane and she spotted me right away.
“Bobby, how are you?” she asked when she walked up to me.
“Great. Rudely awaken this morning by some of these guys but okay. This is Totodile, Bulbasaur, Noctowl, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Murkrow, Spinarak, and Pikachu. These are just some of the Pokémon I train. You look incredible.” I said.
“Thank you. Are you gonna use any of these guys in your battle with Chris???” Miranda asked.
“You have to wait until the battle.” I said.
I took her bags and walked her to the parking lot. I had my Pokémon get back into their Poké Balls and put Miranda’s things in the trunk of the car when we got to it. I introduced her to Lucas and we headed to the clock tower that Lucas, my Pokémon, the other Time Force Rangers and I called home.
I took Miranda upstairs and showed her where I slept. I told her that she could use the bottom bunk since I was always sleeping on the top bunk and I put her things on the trunk at the foot of my beds. She thanked me for what I was doing and we got Miranda settled in before we had lunch. I decided to also introduce her to my friends/roommates and I did after lunch.
“Miranda, this is Wes, Jen, Katie, Oanh, Eric, Russell, Artavius, Trip, and Circuit, Trip’s robotic owl. You all ready know Lucas.” I said.
“Nice to meet all of you. Bobby’s told me a lot of great things about all of you.” Miranda said.
“Thank you, Miranda. It’s nice to meet Bobby’s first internet friend to actually have the guts to call him.” Wes said to be funny.
“Wes!” I said as I laughed.
Miranda and I watched some TV and talked about various things. We mainly talked about friends, family, and our lives. Miranda and I were in the middle of talking about why kind of food I gave my Pokémon when Trip interrupted us.
“Bobby, that Chris guy is downstairs looking for you. I think he’s ready for that Pokémon battle.” Trip said.
I thanked Trip, got my 11 Poké Balls and Miranda & I went downstairs. We saw Chris and he saw me. I could tell that he hated me right away from the way he was looking.
“That’s Bobby?!? He’s the biggest freak I’ve ever seen! You’re uglier than I thought!” Chris said as he laughed.
“You here to insult me or to challenge me to a battle?” I asked as I enlarged one of my Poké Balls.
We got into Lucas’ car and went to a nearby field that was made just for Pokémon battles. Pikachu stayed by my side the whole time. We got to the field got ready. I told him that this was a 12-on-12 battle and he understood. I let him choose his Pokémon first.
“Go, Electrode!” he said as he threw his Poké Ball.
“Electrode!” it said.
“Then I choose Sandslash!” I said.
“Sandslash! Sandslash!” it said.
“Electrode, start off with a Thunder Wave.” Chris said.
“Sandslash, Dig!” I said.
“Electrode! Sandslash!” they said as they did their attacks.
Electrode’s Thunder Wave missed Sandslash by a mile and I had Sandslash do Poison Sting/Swift combo attack to weaken it. I told Sandslash to finish off Electrode with a Roll Out attack and Sandslash beat him. Chris called Electrode back and chose a different Pokémon.
“Victreebell” his Pokémon said when it came out.
“Sandslash, return. Go, Cyndaquil!” I said.
“Cyndaquil!” it said.
Chris told Victreebell to start off with a Tackle attack and I told Cyndaquil to do the same. The two did their Tackle attacks and Victreebell was a little woozy. I told Cyndaquil to do Flamethrower because Chris had Victreebell do Razor Leaf. Cyndaquil torched Victreebell’s Razor Leafs and I had him finish Victreebell off with a Fire Spin. Victreebell was toasted and Chris sent out a Corsola. I called Cyndaquil back and chose Chikorita. Chikorita was no match for Corsola and Corsola got beaten bad.
“Corsola, return. Go, Venusaur!” Chris said.
“Venusaur!” it said when it came out.
“Chikorita, return. Noctowl, I choose you!” I said.
“Noctowl!” it said when it came out.
I seemed to be having the advantage and had Noctowl start of with a Hypnosis attack. Venusaur tried to counter with a Leech Seed but ended up seeding himself as a result of the Hypnosis. Noctowl did its Wing Attack to pummel Venusaur and Chris called it back. He chose a Donphan and I called Noctowl back to choose Totodile. Donphan was too slow with its Roll Out attack because Totodile kept dancing to dodge it. I had Totodile use its Water Gun when I noticed that Donphan was exhausted and Totodile nailed it. Donphan was defeated and Chris chose a small Oddish. I chose Muk, who was a Poison-Type, and Muk kicked Oddish’s butt with a Sludge/Body Slam combo.
“Oddish, Return! Go, Sudowoodo!” Chris said.
“Sudowoodo!” it said.
“Muk, Return! Squirtle, I choose you!” I said.
“Squirt Squirtle Squirt!” he said when he came out.
“Sudowoodo, Rock Throw!” Chris commanded.
“Squirtle, counter with Hydro Pump!” I yelled.
Squirtle’s Hydro Pump stopped Sudowoodo’s Rock Throw and I had Squirtle use his Water Gun attack. Sudowoodo was growing weaker and I told Squirtle to finish it off with a Skull Bash. Squirtle did what I told him and clobbered Sudowoodo. Chris called Sudowoodo back and sent out Granbull. I called Squirtle back and chose Phanpy. Phanpy was too strong for Granbull who was defeated after Phanpy’s Roll Out attack. Chris called Granbull back and chose a Sandshrew. I chose Heracross and the two fought well. Heracross seemed to have the advantage in strength when I told him to do his Horn Attack to send Sandshrew flying. Sandshrew was beaten and Chris called it back. I did the same with Heracross.
“Poliwrath, Go!” Chris said.
“Go, Tauros!” I said.
“Poliwrath! Tauros!” they said when they came out.
“Poliwrath, Water Gun!” Chris said.
“Tauros, Fissure/Take Down Combo!” I said.
Poliwrath tried to use his Water Gun attack but Tauros’ Fissure knocked it down and Tauros sent it flying with its Take Down attack. Tauros beat Poliwrath in one hit and Chris chose a Charmeleon and I chose Pikachu. Charmeleon started off with a Slash attack but Pikachu dodged it with his Agility. Pikachu used Quick Attack to avoid Charmeleon’s Flamethrower and used Thunder to knock him out. Pikachu won and Chris called Charmeleon back. He sent out Magneton and I decided that it was time for my secret weapon.
“I choose you!” I said as I threw a Poké Ball.
“Aerodactyl!” it said when it came out.
“Where’d you get an Aerodactyl?” Chris asked in amazement.
“I captured it in the wild. Where else? Let’s finish this battle.” I said.
“Magneton, Sonicboom!” Chris said.
“Aerodactyl, Swift attack!” I said.
“Magneton! Aerodactyl!” they said as they did their attacks.
Aerodactyl’s Swift attack blocked Magneton’s Sonicboom and Magneton tried Thunder Wave. I told Aerodactyl to do Bite attack and Aerodactyl used its strong fangs to stop Magneton. I had Aerodactyl finish it off with a Seismic Toss and Aerodactyl did what I said. Aerodactyl slammed Magneton into the ground and I won the battle. Chris complimented me on how well I raised my Pokémon and apologized for what he said to Miranda & me. Miranda & I accepted his apology and he promised not to insult someone for how they are on the outside again. He was even more amazed when I told him how many Pokémon I had. We became good friends and Chris never insulted someone for how they were on the outside again.

That's good. It gets better as it progresses on. At the start of the battle you use type to help you win too much, but as soon as it got to Granbull Vs Phanpy, it got much better then. Also it's interesting how you got both Pkmn and PR into the same story.
