Three years had passed since the calm came, and being that it was a fine day along the Mi'ihen Highroad. A few people were walking across it. The hot sun beating down, everybody was sweating. Even the guards were having a peaceful day.

At one of the tall watchtowers, one of the guards saw something moving in the tall grass that made the sides of the road.
He quickly exited the tower, and told the secondary guard to go up the tower for look out.
"Is something the matter Capt?" Saluted the Guard.
The Captain shook his head, "It may be just the wind, but there would no harm in checking it out."

The Captain rubbed his twin pistols in their holdester; he had gone as far as naming his favourite guns. His left gun, which that a White handle, was called Smith. His right gun, which had a black handle, was called Wesson. He had been crowned the Mi'ihen Highroad Hotshot, for two years.
He walked happily long the road towards luca, people waved hello to him.
Suddenly a cry was heard.
"Fiend!"
He started to jog, but then as he saw it he ran towards Luca.
It was one Dual Horn fiend and One Floating Eye Fiend, were attacking one person wearing a cloak, who stood with their back to The Captain. Who had his Guns out and trained on the Floating Eye.
“Run for it!” Shouted The Captain to the person.
“Stand down!” Remarked a Deep Voice, “This is not your battle.”
The Captain kept running.
The Dual Horn lunged for the figure, but they jumped away. The Dual Horns claw pinned the cloaked persons cloak to the floor. The Person parted from the cloak showing a man, who looked young, with blond hair, blue eyes. The man pulled a sword from his back sheath, which blended into his black T-shirt.
The man pointed the blade at the Captain, and said in a very stern voice.
“I said, Stand Down.”
“I do not take orders from a person like you,” Shouted the Captain, “I am Captain Cakzu of The Mi'ihen Highroad, this is my road, and any battle on this road is my battle.”
Then the Captain blasted away with his dual guns, the man turned around to see the Floating Eye turn to Pyreflies.
The Man blocked an attack from the Dual Horn, with his sword, the Creature reared back for another attack. The man, then quickly slashed upwards on the creature, as he jumped into the air, then as he hurtled downwards he drove the blade straight down the creatures skull.
The Dual Horn turned into Pyreflies, but before they could rise any higher, the mysterious man, produced a small yellow orb, the Pyreflies seemed to get sucked straight into it. The man lifted it high, but the Floating Eye’s Pyreflies didn’t seem to be attracted to it.
“ARGH!” he said as he pocketed the orb, “Great.”
He put his blade back into it holster and started walking towards Luca.
“Not so fast,” Cakzu aimed Smith onto the Mystery man.
“I’m walking slowly as possible.”
Cakzu fired a round just by the man’s ear.
Mystery man turned to the Captain.
“Look you made me miss those Pyreflies.” He pointed upwards. “So let me be.”
“Whatever you are doing it looks Stupid, Illegal or Both.” Commented Cakzu, “I don’t want to see you along my road again.”
The Captain walked back to the watchtower.
What was that man doing?
What was that Orb thing he had?
Why did the Fiends Pyreflies seem to be attracted to it?
He arrived back at the tower, and told the guard to go back down stairs. He gazed at of the windows, then he spotted an airship fly above him towards the Djose Highroad.

Above the Mi'ihen Highroad inside the Air-ship, the mysterious man, sat at the controls of the vessel.

He sighed, as he clicked on the autopilot. He got the orb out, and looked inside it. The blue Pyreflies of the Dual Horn, raced around in the yellowness.

"Why the hell do I do this?" He said out aloud.

A head appeared on the Screen, just off to one side. The Head appeared to be of a dark skinned man, in his late thirties.

"What's the matter D?" He commented.
"This collecting of Pyreflies business, Mug." Started the Man.
"Oh, wait a minute," Interrupted Mug. "Got a Video E-mail."

Another Head appeared on a screen, the opposite side of the man. White faced, with grey hair poking out everywhere.

"Alright, Mug." Said the face softly.
"Oh. My. Giddy. Aunt. It's Seb, he's the ships computer of the explores spaceship. Over Eight Thousand I.Q. He's got." Mug told D.
"Horsy on B1, to C3,"
"Horsy??!" Commented The Man.
The Face continued.
"Well that's my move Mug. We closing in on Planet Ed42I, better go."

Seb disappeared into a blank screen.
"Knight to C3, that's a sly one." Mug Grinned to himself."
"So let me get this straight, your playing chess, with another computer, which is nearly three times a high as your I.Q. And he calls the Knight, horsy."
Mug Nodded. "Don't be fooled by Sebs Strangeness."
"So.. Who is winning, this Chess game at the moment?"
"Well, it's hard to say really? I suppose he is really?"
"Suppose. Why is that, you've lost a piece?"
"No, that was the first move."

D rolled his eyes. He looked back at the orb, and then looked out the window to the Djose Highroad. Then he quickly took it out of Auto, and slammed the brakes on.

"What the hell is that, Mug?" D shouted at Mug as he pointed out the window.

Down on the Djose Highroad a huge metallic machine walked along the road. It looked like a head with arms and legs, and took up half the road.

A Basilisk fiend appeared in front of it, the robot stopped.

Out of it's left eye a strange arm stretched out the arm tip pointed at the Basilisk, and fired a blue-whitish light. It lasted a few seconds, and the Basilisk turned to Pyreflies, before they rose any higher. The Right eye zoomed out on an arm, and the Pyreflies got sucked into it.

The right eye turned yellow, then to pink. Before returning to its socket. The arm on the other side retracted, back into its own socket. The robot hissed and started to move forwards.

Farther up the road, more towards the Mi'ihen Highroad. The mysterious man slide down the rock face, on to the Djose highroad. He hadn't seen what the Machine had done.

Drawing his sword he charged towards the robot. He stood in front of it. He heard a voice come from the machine.

"Kad vid dra fyo!" Shouted the voice.
"Al Bhed." Mumbled D, under his breath.

The sound of clanking metal was heard from behind the man, he looked backwards to see, three people running toward him.

"You again." Shouted a voice, "I told you, that I never wanted to see you along my road again."

It was Captain Cakzu, along with two soldiers.
One ran in a blue gear, while carrying a heavy spear type weapon, reading down the side it had the word Biggs.
The other soldier had red suit, and was carrying a strange sword that looked like it was made from a shotgun. Also along its side it, had the word Wedge written.

"Er...... Sir! This isn't your road. Sir!" Commented Biggs.
"Hush!" replied Cakzu.

A scream was heard from the robot, and they turned towards it.

"Kad vid dra fyo, HUF!" Shouted the voice again.
"Shut up, Al Bhed!" replied D.
"I say the orders around here," Stamped Cakzu, "You leave."
He pointed to D.
“Since when did I take orders from you?” commented D.

Just then a huge sea fiend, arose from the sea to the right of them. It had huge teeth, fins the size of a person. It’s black, beady, little eyes looked along the Djose Highroad. It spotted the group and charged towards it.

The Al Bhed Robot turned towards the sea, and set the gun turret out from its eye. D managed to see it, and with one swoop of his sword. Chopped the gun off.
