RIMES: 'UNDERWOOD HASN'T PAID HER DUES'
LEANNE RIMES has come to the defence of fellow country singer FAITH HILL, whose shocked reaction was caught on camera at the Country Music Awards last Monday (06NOV06) when CARRIE UNDERWOOD beat her. Hill appeared to be angry when she lost out on the Best Female Artist prize to the AMERICAN IDOL star and was seen mouthing a shocked "What?" before walking off. Rimes writes on her official website, "Okay, I usually keep quiet on topics like this, but I feel I need to stand up for my friend, Faith. "She was just being honest and emotional like every other person sitting at home with an opinion. "These awards shows are so political and we all get fed up with them. "We all work very hard and have for many years so to see someone come in and win Female Vocalist that has been here for a very short time, is a little disheartening." "She probably felt, as I did, that Carrie has not paid her dues long enough to fully deserve that award. "As artists and public figures, we have to keep our feelings so repressed so we don't get called ungrateful. Please cut her some slack!"

LeAnn Rimes Says Moving To Nashville Helped Her Marriage
Country star LeAnn Rimes credits her move to Nashville, Tennessee for keeping her marriage on track.
The Blue singer will celebrate five years of marriage to Dean Sheremet on February 23, calling the union "the biggest accomplishment" of her life, and she claims moving from Hollywood to Nashville helped give her and Sheremet a fighting chance at making it work.
She says, "We lived in LA for a while and then we moved to Nashville about four years ago and I think getting out of LA, even though I love it so much... I think getting away from all the hoopla... was good for our relationship."

LeAnn Rimes (tickets | music) has added more dates to her schedule, which has the country/pop singer playing a handful of spring shows in North America before diving into summer.
Rimes' next few stops are two-night stands, beginning with a doubleheader in West Wendover, NV, this weekend, and followed by double shots in Las Vegas and Rama, Ontario next month. The summer will see the crossover star play venues from coast to coast, including a number of festivals, fairs and casinos. Though a performance date has not yet been set, Rimes is confirmed for the June 7-10 CMA Music Festival, according to her website.
So far, the singer's itinerary stretches into mid-October. Details are below.
Rimes released her ninth studio album, "Whatever We Wanna," last summer. The set, which follows 2005's gold-certified "This Woman," sticks close to the middle ground between country and pop. A few songs from the record are streaming at Rimes' website and MySpace page.
The singer is currently nominated for CMT Music Video Female Artist of the Year for the song "Some People" off of "This Woman." Another song from the album, "Something's Gotta Give," was up for a Grammy last month in the Best Female Country Vocal Performance category.
Rimes, 24, launched her recording career at the age of seven, and has sold 37 million albums to date, according to her bio. Her major-label debut, "Blue," made her a star at age 13 and earned her two Grammy awards.
In addition to music, Rimes has made a name for herself as a children's-book author, an actress and a philanthropist.
