Beautiful Awakening for Stacie Orrico
Christian pop sensation Stacie Orrico will release her new album 
Beautiful Awakening, which will hit stores January 16, 2007. 

Album producers include Dallas Austin, Dwayne Bastiany, KayGee and 
The Underdogs and writing duties are performed by notable 
songwriters like Shekspear, Track & Field, Anthony Dent, newcomer 
Novel and Orrico herself.

The first single, "I'm Not Missing You", originally went for radio 
ads on June 20th. The song had gone as high as #19 on the Bubbling 
Under Hot 100 Singles. The second single from the album is "So 
Simple", which was released in October 2006.

Orrico birthed from the GMA's (Gospel Music Association) Annual 
Music in the Rockies, which is the home of numerous Christian 
artists such as Michael W. Smith, Rachael Lampa, BarlowGirl, and 
Point of Grace.

Her self-titled album Stacie Orrico, which was released in 2003, 
charted in the US Billboard Top 200 (debuting at #67), Australian 
ARIAnet and the UK albums charts. 

Her single, "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life", charted and went top 
20 in Australia and the UK. 

The album sold an estimated 3.4 million copies worldwide.

Will Stacie really be there?
Yes! Stacie Orrico will be LIVE, at the Greek Theater. She will chat with those in attendance and play some of her music.
Can I come up on stage and meet Stacie?
Believe it or not, YES! Several lucky Whyville citizens will be invited on stage to chat with Stacie one-on-one.
Do I need a ticket?
No, you can just show up. The event is free. But, if you want to sit next to your friends, consider reserving your seats ahead of time at the Greek Theater Ticket Booth (COMING SOON). Reserved seats cost 20 clams a piece.
Do I need to register for an account?
You don't need to, but it's a good idea. If you register for an account ahead of time, you can take the time to personalize your Whyville face and set up your chat privileges, so you can look your best and chat with friends during the concert.
Will there be Stacie Orrico concert gear?
Of course. There'll be limited edition souvenirs available at the Tailgate Party before the concert to buy using Whyville clams. Show up early to browse the selection!
Will there be any fun stuff going on before the concert?
You mean, like a tailgate party? You bet. The tailgate party will start an hour early, at 1 pm Whyville time.
Will there be an after-party?
Yes. Scion is sponsoring an "Owners' Event" after party. You'll need to arrive in a Scion. If you don't have one, get a ride from a friend.

Pop singer Stacie Orrico emerges from exile
NASHVILLE (Billboard) - In March 2004, Stacie Orrico walked away 
from it all. Feeling overwhelmed by the global success of her second 
album, the Christian pop singer exited the business, returned to her 
family in Seattle and took a waitressing job at a neighborhood 
seafood restaurant.
With the January 16 release of "Beautiful Awakening," the 20-year-
old singer/songwriter returns with a fresh perspective.

"I knew if I didn't step away and build a life outside the music 
industry that I'd always be holding on too tight," she says. "So I 
went away and shut down the machine for a couple of years."

Stacie Orrico Cancels Australian Festival Date
Stacie Orrico has enraged the organizers of an Australian music 
festival by canceling her tour of the country.

The Stuck singer was due to headline the Australian Gospel Music 
Festival (AGMF) in April, but has postponed her Southern hemisphere 
dates and performance at the event in Toowoobma, southern Queensland.

Organizers hope to find a replacement, but are not confident they will 
be able to secure someone of Orrico's standing.

Isaac Moody, president of the AGMF says, "We're working very hard to 
see who we may be able to get in to fill the shoes of Stacie.

"We do have some leads at the moment, but at this late stage it's a 
bit of an effort and we're not 100 per cent confident we'll be able to 
replace Stacie just with one artist.

"So we're working on quite a number of artists who'll be able to fill 
her shoes really well."
