WB Eager For Spike Film
David Janollari, president of entertainment at The WB, told reporters that the network is eager to air a movie based on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer character of Spike (James Marsters), if only creator Joss Whedon were available.
"We'd ... love to do a Spike movie with Joss Whedon," Janollari said in a news conference at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.
But, Janollari added, "Joss Whedon is busy, fast becoming a kind of a big feature filmmaker. He's currently working on an adaptation of Wonder Woman for Warner Brothers. He's simply not available to us. But he knows, and you guys all know, the door is open any time that he wants to do that, for us to do that movie."
In the meantime, Marsters, who played the vampire character in both Buffy and its WB spinoff series, Angel, has a recurring role on The WB's Superman series Smallville.
Whedon has been tapped to write and direct a Wonder Woman movie and is also developing a supernatural movie, Goners. He last helmed the SF movie Serenity. But he has also said that he's interested in returning to the Buffyverse with a TV movie at some point.
For his part, Marsters has expressed interest if the film can come together before he's too old to play the supposedly ageless vampire.

Acker Made An Alias Regular
Amy Acker told SCI FI Wire that she'll be made a regular cast member of ABC's spy series Alias when the show returns with new episodes in March. Acker, a former regular cast member on The WB's Angel, has made a strong impression as a guest star this season, playing the villainous assassin Kelly Peyton in several episodes.
"They just made me a regular, so I should be there for the rest [of the season's episodes]," Acker said in an interview at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif., over the weekend. "I mean, we'll see. Unless it benefits them to kill me, which I could understand, because I'm very evil."
Acker will return to the show's set on Jan. 30, when the production resumes after a hiatus to accommodate star Jennifer Garner's maternity leave. "We haven't even filmed the next episode that's going to air," Acker said.
Acker, who previously played the demon Illyria on Angel, said that her new role as a cold-blooded killer has even her parents spooked. "I'm just pure evil," she said. "I was saying, my parents called before Christmas and said they were afraid for me to come home. That they didn't want me to come home anymore. I was, 'Ahh.' [But] it's great. I mean, it makes me laugh. Every time I read an episode, and I'm like, 'OK, I'm killing five people this week. Awesome!'"
Acker added that she expects to do at least one scene with returning guest star Lena Olin, who plays Irina Derevko. "I think I will be doing scenes with her soon, and I'm sure that will be very cool," Acker said.
And what is she doing to prepare for her return to Alias? "I'm psyching myself up," she said. "I should be going to the gym or something probably, but I've been going to the dessert table [laughs]." Alias ends its five-year run with a series finale this spring.

In that case I'll use my super mod powers to merge the two threads.

I'm also a Buffy fan as well. The spin off show Angel was good too. *blames WB for cancelling Angel as a mistake because of misunderstanding communication with Fox*

Don't Wait For Willow
Alyson Hannigan, who played Willow Rosenberg for seven years on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, told SCI FI Wire that she occasionally hears rumors about proposed TV movies based on Buffy or its spinoff series, Angel, but doubts that creator Joss Whedon will ever get around to realizing a telefilm based on her character. "I don't know," Hannigan said in an interview while promoting her new film, the comedy Date Movie. "Yeah, it pops up every now and then, and I just don't know. I just treasure the experience. It was such a great, long chapter of my life."
Hannigan, who also co-stars on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, added: "I think I would just be too scared to sort of go back and possibly tarnish it in any way. Joss is too busy [to do a Willow movie]. He's not going to write it. He's not going to direct it, you know? I'm sure he would get great people, but there's nothing like the Joss touch. I think by all means they should absolutely do the Spike movie. I think that's the logical next step, but ... I don't think Willow is the next step."
It's actually yet to be determined if any kind of Buffy or Angel spinoff movie will come to pass. David Janollari, president of entertainment at what used to be The WB network, said last month that the network would welcome a movie based on James Marsters' Spike character, but echoed Hannigan's comments. At the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour, Janollari told reporters that Whedon may be too busy.
Whedon is planning to write and direct a big-screen version of Wonder Woman and is also known to be developing a supernatural film called Goners, casting further doubt on the likelihood of a Spike movie. Janollari's desire to air a Spike movie may be complicated by The WB's recently announced merger with UPN to create The CW, which came after Janollari made his comments in January.
For his part, Whedon has remained noncommittal about doing a Spike or other Buffy spinoff movie, though he has expressed interest in doing one.

Dushku aids Fox's "Nurses"
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" alumna
Eliza Dushku will replace the star in Fox's one-hour comedic drama
pilot "Nurses."
Dushku will play a young woman just out of nursing school who joins
the hospital run by her father. She replaces Katheryn Winnick
("Failure to Launch"), who originally was cast in the role; the part
was recast after the character was taken in a different, more comedic
direction. The project reunites Dushku with Fox following her starring
role on "Tru Calling."
Also cast in the "Nurses" pilot is Jaclyn DeSantis, who will play an
experienced nurse going through a bitter divorce.
