My dad waters them in the early morning and I water them around 1:00P.M. My folks told me to water them for more than a few seconds. So when the water has breached the dirt & is covering it, I move on to the next potted plant and the ones that aren't potted. Then I switch the hose to Jet & Center Modes, aim for the wind chime dangling near the dining room window and I fire the water to water the plants on the side of the house. It's really fun.

If those are tomatoes, numbe one a three from left to right appear to be ready to eat, give number 2 and 4 a few more days.
Purple Ranger 14 - September 20, 2005 02:51 PM (GMT)
Those were taken a couple weeks ago.
trey98607 - September 22, 2005 12:13 PM (GMT)
I hope they tasted good. One added note, the mint and carrots are now gone, but we did find some more garlic, more than we really need. Enough to fill a quart butter dish with. It's called Elephant Garlic.
trey98607 - October 7, 2005 12:42 PM (GMT)
In addition to the Danish Squash there is another kind of squash I found out we have, it's a buttercup squash.
Purple Ranger 14 - October 7, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
They sell Elephant Garlic at Trader Joe's. Bought one once.
trey98607 - October 8, 2005 12:49 AM (GMT)
You wasted your money, we have a bucket full of them we'd like to get rid of for FREE.

We're mostly getting Sweet Potatoes. Too bad I can't have them, due to horrific allergic reactions. :(
trey98607 - October 21, 2005 12:29 PM (GMT)
Here is what is left, tomatoes parsnips, and a pair of zucchini, once those two zucchini are riped and grown enought that whole plant will be gone.
trey98607 - October 26, 2005 12:59 AM (GMT)
As of late October, the only things that are left in the garden is the tomatoes and parsnips, we won't start on the parsnips until the first freeze.
Lady Hawk - November 7, 2005 07:46 AM (GMT)
Sounds yummy! :P *btw* Are you going to can & store your veggies for winter? :)
trey98607 - November 7, 2005 01:20 PM (GMT)
We've done that with the peas and tomatoes. We still have corn from last year in the freezer yet.
Lady Hawk - November 12, 2005 08:29 AM (GMT)
We mostly have okra & beans in our freezer. :)
trey98607 - November 29, 2005 02:00 AM (GMT)
Well guess what? All we have left in the garden now is Parsnips and because it got down to 27 last night, they are now ready to be eaten.
Purple Ranger 14 - December 5, 2005 06:57 PM (GMT)
We have Elephant Garlic at the store where I work. They look small though.
trey98607 - December 5, 2005 11:19 PM (GMT)
The elephant Garlic we have is about the size of a golf ball
Purple Ranger 14 - December 6, 2005 05:41 PM (GMT)

Put it in the hands of Randy Johnson of the New York Yankees and he might hit a bird with it.
carebearmel151 - January 22, 2006 04:26 AM (GMT)
It's been too cold to have a garden here.
trey98607 - June 29, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)
Well once again we have a garden but it was put in late, due to the weather, but it is now growing nicely, we already have been picking raspberries. Some of the tomatoes now have flowers on them. We have peas, corn, beans, and parsnips.
trey98607 - July 22, 2009 12:33 PM (GMT)
OK here is a progress report on our so called garden this year, the raspberries and radishes are done. We are now getting peas from our garden, sunflowers are huge and blooming. The first cherry tomoto was picked and eaten. Carrots and parsnips are coming along as is the beans, sort of, as for our corn, well what can I say, that is a big dissapoinment.
Akiza - July 22, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
I know my dad is growing tomatoes but, I can't remember what else he's growing in the back yard.
trey98607 - April 24, 2010 12:20 PM (GMT)
We are now in a new year and this year I did the entire garden, here is what I planted:
Corn, Beets, Beans, Danish Squash, Zucchini Squash, Sweet Peas, and just yesterday I planted 6 different Tomato Plants. Also we still have Raspberries in the South part of the Garden. In our little strip next to the Wash Room I planted Snapdragons and Marigolds.
