Just looked at the draw for The British, and its sad to see only 2 bands out of 122 coming from England! Whats going on?

Whats happened to all the bands, good to see Manchester, and the other one going ( sorry can't remember what they are called )

Thats the one !!

Whats happened to Luton, Pride of Murry etc....? I dont think Luton played at Dumbarton, do you think it's the cost of getting across..?
But you would think that the bands would make the effort just like all the Irish bands do for the other 4 majors! But there must be more than 2 bands able to play in contests?

I agree, so sad, that many names from the past are no longer appearing at contests, Whilst I agree it is costly, all bands have the same problems, but somehow manage.
Lets hope it soon changes, and we again see all those famous names once again appearing.

Luton came across last year fer the All Ireland Championships. Meet a few a the guys in their hotel afterwards fer a wee swallie, good bunch a guys too.

Can't see the cost being more than comin' over here da go to a major in Scotland or here for that matter.

Have they been out at all this season?.

Lierally found this forum and registered minutes ago.

Years ago I played and remember loads of top quality bands in the area.

City of Manchester, Phoenix, City of Salford, Chorley and their Juniors, Warrington and their Juniors plus others (cant remember too many Beer tents).
Anyone know what happened?

Regards
