Does anyone know what has happened at Warrington pipe band ? I heard that the PM has left and the band has called it a day.

The usual way with a rumour - half right and half wrong. - and a lot of detail missing in between.
Andy has left, right enough. But the band hasn't considered packing up.
Incidentally, only this morning I received this picture of the band back in 1975 when the band led was led by P/M Willie Strathearn. Earlier in the season they had won the World Championship in Grade 3 and just been proclaimed Champion of Champions Grade 3 for that year.

I heard alot of them were off to Manchester Fire, but as always peoples rumours get bigger and bigger and the next thing Eric Wards joining !!!
If its true it's sad news and another band gone in England, ( not competing )
Anyway Chris, Willie doesn't look much different, I was working at his house not long back !

Eric did come down but insisted on using his own brand of sticks.....had to show him the door. Shame coz he's not a bad player.
